Ok, so I've got a question, and I kinda need an answer as quickly as possible. Right now my chest is really starting to hurt somewhat, kind of like there's a air bubble or something, and I don't know what's causing it. Honestly, the air bubble is the best explanation I have on what it feels like. It just hurts a lot, and I don't know why it is. I want to say it's something like heart burn, but I wouldn't know why I'd have it. Is there anyone on the site who would know?

I mean, if it's really bothering you to the point of being painful you should consult a doctor, but yeah. Where in your chest is this pain? Lungs? Heart? Muscles?

Kind of in the middle of the lungs and heart. That's why I think it's heart burn, but I'm not entirely sure. I've only had heart burn once a ton of years ago, so I wouldn't remember what it's like. I get the feeling it's something I ate for dinner, because it only recently started hurting since I ate. Note to self, keep away from that restaurant from now on

Hmm, well, does the pain feel like pressure or burning?

Mmm, if I had to guess, a little more little pressure than burning, but they both kind of feel like the same thing at times

IIRC, heart burn is more of a burning in the pit of your chest & throat, like the sort you feel when you need to throw up. It's from stomach acid.

Not to scare you, but this doesn't sound the same; it sounds more serious and I'd recommend seeing a doctor about it. Most likely, especially at your age, it's probably something minor -- but obviously heart/lung issues are really important things to address if you think you might have one.

    EDIT: Is this recurring or?

Yeah, I don't think it's anything major, since I wasn't having a problem earlier today. I seriously think it had something to do with what I ate, because I was just fine earlier today till we went out for dinner. But only about 2 hours ago did my chest start to hurt like this.

Okay, I guess I can't say it's not major, since anything major could pop up depending on the circumstance, but I'm not that worried. I just hope it goes away after sleeping. If it doesn't I'll have to let my mom know. She'll probably freak about having to pay more money for a doctor's visit, but I don't want to be walking around all day with a pressure in my chest

Well if you're still feeling this tomorrow, I'd recommend seeing a doctor about it. Never good to chance these things, even if it most likely is harmless.

    Okay so not recurring then

Has it been getting worse? Or did it start two hours ago and more or less stay the same?
I guess at this point sleeping on it is all you can do, but yeah, definitely go to the doctor ASAP if it sticks around. Depending on how well you think your mother will handle it (as freaking her out is probably not high on the list of your priorities right now lol), letting her know that you're not feeling well & may want to go to the doctor tomorrow might be a good idea too.
Symptoms of a heart issue are unfortunately a little different for everybody so there's no surefire way to tell if there's a problem there. Any arm or shoulder pain, breathing trouble, etc? Or is this isolated?

Seems like it's better this morning, so I guess sleeping it off was really what needed to be done. I just wonder why it started to hurt that much in the first place. And if it starts up again then I'd know I'd probably have a problem of some sort

    Hello,
I apologize for replying so late, but despite being more of an invisible lurker on the Spam Zone, I felt I should still share what I know on this subject (since a medical concern should not be ignored).
For starters, it is good that the pain subsided once you were laying down. Normally, if a sharp pain in the center of your chest goes away by changing positions, that makes it easier to rule out a heart problem. Heart pains are usually consistent, regardless of how much you move. It actually leans the situation more towards being indigestion. Also, you mentioned that the pain began after you ate. If the food was greasy or something that would increase stomach acid production, then it would very likely give anyone a bit of indigestion.
The pain could've been in several places. Though, from what I've experienced, the center of your chest is the most common place (along with below the ribs).

I'm not sure that it is something you need to worry about immediately. It is always nice to get a doctor's opinion to make sure there isn't something more serious going on, but I think you can wait and see if it happens again for now.

Glad that you are feeling better. Hopefully, this is helpful.
