I'm pretty sure every president has been under stress. Have you seen the before and after shots of the past few presidents? They look like in four or eight years they've aged twenty. So that's no excuse for Obama. Don't you think Lincoln was under stress? Don't you think Reagan was under stress? It's not a new thing. And we've given him some time to at least make a few minor improvements. Nothing productive has been done.

Hitler had meaning in his speeches, too, but you won't be seeing most Obama supporters waving a Nazi flag in hopes that Hitler's reincarnation will rise to save America. So what if the man has some physical ailments? Since when has one's ability to do the tango had any correlation with one's political ability?

Where are his credentials? Last time I checked, he was very inexperienced.

I think Obama was the right choice in this situation. McCain would've been better a few years ago, but the policies would've stayed the same. The "trickle-down" theory doesn't work. The money doesn't trickle down to the employees, but instead, the CEOs take it for themselves. And, right now, universal health care seems to be the best solution to the growing percentage of ill and impovershed citizens. The thing is, McCain wouldn't have changed much with the system. Obama is at least trying something new, since the old techniques have been proven broken. Also, Palin was a terrible decision for VP. It wasn't the best decision, showing that he makes poor judgements, and she would've screwed up pretty badly.

Uh, the economy continuing to lower is not due to the Obama administration. In this recession we havent hit a bottom yet. Some days have been better than others of course, but the trend line has gradually been getting lower and lower since before Obama was elected. Even if McCain was elected it still would have continued to have gone down. So yeah =/.

Still, Obama's stimulus package has certainly been helping, to add to the "what's Obama done" list. My family itself has benefitted from it, and of course millions of other people.

    This.^

Had McCain gone with Romney, he probably would have had an easier time, possible could have won even. The thing is, people had been criticizing the **** out of Obama saying "HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE OMG" and then here comes Palin asking "what does a Vice President do?" On t.v.. She was good at getting crowds together and riled up, but in terms of actually doing **** or knowing what she was doing, two pretty damn crucial things, she was seriously lacking.

I'd rather have Obama. McCain didn't seem like the person I'd want to run the country.

don't pay much attention to the media do you? Obama has made women equal to men by law so it can be enforced now. He's raised the american's spending by make them think it's ok to buy now. He's moving troops out of Iraq and transporting them to our main objective

Do you have a link to an article citing this? I haven't heard it. :/
Just because it's a law doesn't mean it will be followed. Even since women gained rights to vote and be equal, companies still pay men more than women. I very highly doubt Obama can ensure that every business in America - big or small - will pay equal wages.

...America spending is bad. We are already in a gi-****ing-gantic federal debt. People will still be unsure about buying things on the more expensive side because the economy is near **** and very unstable.
My proof for this is my own damn paycheck, or lack thereof. :|

Main objective? What, dare I ask, is that?
And again, moving troops out of Iraq is a potentially huge risk and bad move.
Yes, I want soldiers out of danger, but no, I don't think it's worth moving them out completely so that the government established will collapse through the fear that will come from the terrorists and extremist groups that are still in Iraq.

Obama hasn't done all that much for this country, at least not compared to all the hype he received. But I think what we really needed - even if he doesn't turn out to be a good president - is a change. A break in routine. Personally, McCain would have been a repeat of the last eight years, and seeing how that didn't work too well I would rather he not be president.
Plus Sarah Palin was a teerrrible choice for VP :B|:

From a foreigners point of view, I can't see anything that Obama's done wrong so far... On the other hand, I can't see if he's done anything at all.
But I doubt too many people could've actually made any change this soon in to presidency, when you take in consideration what deep **** the US was in after Bush's regime.

Obama's amazing. I love what he's done so far, and I hardly ever see my mom reverent of anyone, but she's just in awe over him. I watched him on David Letterman and he just seems so genuine. It's really wonderful to see a real person representing our country, not some typical politician who's only looking out for number one. He's funny, too.

Congrats on getting unbanned I guess.

He's doing great things and very bad things right now. I can't really say if I'm glad he won, because I can't say how McCain would've done.

Kairimagic, please stop bringing back so many threads like this.

Hm? I'm pretty sure this one was bolded when I clicked on it...and the last post wasn't even a month ago. What counts as being too late to reply to a topic?

This is not the Spam Zone. Topics, as long as you can contribute, can be brought back up rather than making a new thread here. As long as you add something worthy to the thread, the rule on 'necrobumping' is non-existent.

McCain didn't have a clue what he was doing and picked a total moron for his vice president.

If he won, I would have fled instantly to Canada, or if that was too close, the UK. I even had plans for if he won.. Thank god Obama won.

And what has he done to earn your respect except spew pretty words? As far as I've seen, all he can do is spout rhetoric and play the race card over and over.

I don't exactly like McCain or Obama but I'd probably still rather have Obama as the president...even if he has done nothing yet as the president which I can see. Though I'm interested to see how Hillary Clinton would have ran the country.

Although I don't exactly approve when people over play the race card, race is an issue that needs to made relevant. (which they're doing in Black in America, Latino in America) because although minorities are treated better than they used to be, it's still not near equal yet. (even if it can never be equal at least in force the laws). This is why some people were spouting non-sense about Obama being a muslim because his middle name happens to be "Hussein". Or that he wasn't an American citizen. Seriously in all reality it's all based on race because some people won't forgive and forget what happened nearly 200 years ago because African Americans were freed from slavery and actually amounted to something.

It was a great triumph for not only African Americans but all minorities for Obama to make it into office. Therefore you're going to hear the race card. So you mind as well learn to ignore it.

I didn't really keep up with the election so I may be wrong here, but it seemed that Obama tried to avoid the subject of race, to a degree anyway. Especially with the whole pastor thing. THat event seemed like he was trying not to include race in his election, whether it be to his advantage or disadvantage.
Of course, that's not true for the WHOLE election.

Yeah, really he did try to not bring it up. Others kept bringing it up and making a big deal about it. They got all up in arms about the Pastor when McCain had a pastor who is also prejudiced. Let's not go into Palin's kooky religious views themselves. Also taking the picture of Obama has a kid and saying he's Muslim because he is the son of a woman doing charity work in other countries.. yeah, that was rather low. Most people try to fit into other cultures as they can when they go. Otherwise, how can you understand another culture or help its people efficiently? The one speech Obama did give on race, it was a great thing to say and I agreed with it strongly. He didn't toss out the 'race card' in the least.
