Yes but that'd mess up the government's plans. Too many people are federal funding. These kids would be put in packed orphanges. Orphanages are basically a slightly better funded Africa. Also it'd mess the parents up less because you wouldn't have to deal with giving away something with such adorable eyes. I admit that the girl could've been raped like that missing girl who was just found 18 years later but it's the parents of that child/teenager's fault for not knowing where they are or who they're with.
They also shouldn't be dressing like skanks anyway

He signed a bill into LAW that makes Women 100% equal to men

Don't you think that if it was that simple then someone would have done it already? You can't make such equality with one bill. Hell, it takes more than the passage of a few bills to make a social change. Sure, legally they might be getting a few more rights, but people in society will keep their views of women, be them good or bad, regardless, and they will still be discriminated against until a major social revolution occurs. Unfortunately, I see no such changes happening in the near future.

That was an awful idea, we had plenty of people who were found completely guilty of plotting terrorism there. But I digress, this thread is still about Obama V.S. McCain; Let's get back on topic.

Only got voted in because he was black?..haha, okay, sure, that's exactly why every single man and woman voted for him.Skin tone means EVERYTHING in this country.

Anyway, I'd keep Obama as it is, either way the country would go through some rough changes.Just because you don't agree with what Obama's doing doesn't mean McCain can magically make things better.

They have ..Bush had eight years, lets give a Democrat a try. It's not even been two years in his term and people are already quitting on him. Not like he had a good start with all the crap left over from Bush's term.

No, I'm not claiming Bush is the devil like everyone else, I'm just saying that Obama took the load and the issues he had/made/etc.

And yet Bush got us through one of the toughest times in American history.

It hasn't even been a full year of Obama's term, and things are already going to hell.
The health care plan wasn't left over from Bush.
That was an Obama administration thing.
Similarly, Obama had an insane time getting his Cabinet together, what with all the scandals surfacing once people were appointed.

    Yes, there were issues.
    Obama added to them.
I'm not saying McCain would've made things amazing, but they probably wouldn't be as bad as they are now. :/

Yes but it wasn't socialized health care.
That's the main point I'm making here.

I mean honestly, when the House and Senate are practically forcing a bill the American public does not want, what does that tell you?

That's a 'what if' statement ..everyone says that, yet they probably would've made things worse, you never know.

It's not like anyone is really lessening the problems Obama is dealing with. There's always criticism and a scandal people need to create WHENEVER he says something.

    Well...naturally.
Usually because there are. Again, his Cabinet was so chaotic because of a bunch of scandals. Hell, the person responsible for collecting OUR taxes hadn't paid taxes for quite a few years.
    That's a man Obama picked.

And I still don't know what the hell "All wee-weed up" means. :/

lol @ Secretary of The Treasury being a tax evader

Look, I'm not gonna try to convince anyone that Bush was a good president, not only because he was mediocre (notice how I didn't say bad), but because that isn't the point of this thread. I will say this, however: if nothing else, he showed that America won't allow thousands of its people to die with no retaliation. In my opinion, that in itself gives him a decent amount of credit.

Anyway, back on topic, my view on socialized health care is that it can work, but it's practicality in the United States is questionable. If Obama (or whoever could properly integrate it) could do it gradually so that if it massively screws us over we can go back to the old system, then I'd be willing to try. Unfortunately, Obama thinks that we have to change now now now (which is hilarious considering just how little has changed, unless you count all the changes for the worse that we've experienced). I'll give the guy this much: his ideas on reforming insurance are decent. I like that insurance market thing that he suggested in his speech a couple of nights ago, however regulating their rates is something I'd rather not have happen. Yes, sometimes government interference in industry is necessary, but America's situation right now is nowhere near as bad as it was in the Great Depression, and Obama is no FDR. Never was, never will be (and I don't like FDR very much to begin with).

Also, denying insurance to illegal immigrants was a pretty gutsy thing for Obama to propose. If he follows through with that, I must say, I'll gain a lot of respect for him. There are a lot of conservative politicians who wouldn't have the guts to stand in front of a building full of politicians and say that in confidence. He has my respect for that much.

The illegal immigrants thing I also stand with but we can tax these people once they're caught. We can raise the taxes higher for them since they're not registered and if they still want to stay let em stay

Our country is overpopulated as it is, and the illegals are taking away the opportunities from those who are applying for citizenship legally. Deport 'em. I couldn't care less. They're criminals, and they deserve to be treated as such.

That's different. We used to accept people coming like that all the time. It's the people who come here, without going through any official channels whatsoever, and expect to just have things handed to them because "it's America" who piss me off.

Like the citizenship application process, which, believe it or not, quite a lot of people still use. The African boat example you used was different because those people weren't trying to sneak into the country. Hell, I'm sure if we told them they had to go back to Africa, the would have gone back. Point is, illegal immigration is a shameless and selfish way to start a life in America, and it is something that should be strongly opposed. This is one of the reasons why I liked McCain, but since Obama seems to be adopting anti-illegal immigrant ideals, I'm starting to gain a bit more respect for him.
