This shouldnt be right, if you go through the process to make a child it should be your job to take care of it, I think if you were like low on money and would go bankrupt or something then the government should support you until you get back on your feet

Neither. They were both terrible choices, McCain was slightly better but barely.

Right now Obama's plan for socialized health care will destroy the economy even more, despite the American public - which the government is supposed to listen to - not wanting the health care, the House and Senate are voting for it anyway.
With one exception: THEY DON'T WANT THE HEALTH CARE THEMSELVES.
Now what does that tell you?

Bringing the soldiers back is not necessarily a good thing; leaving a country that has been under American occupation suddenly can cause catastrophic impacts to the government that has been started.
There are still terrorists there. There probably always will be.

He also wanted to free the prisoners in Guantanamo Bay.
You know. The ones that were being held prisoner for the planning of the terrorist attack that took the lives of 3,000+ American lives eight years ago tomorrow?
Plus other criminals and terrorists. These people wouldn't go back to their home countries and repent. They'd go back to meet up with other cells and plan something else.
They're terrorists. Criminals. They won't change just because the President let them out of a high-security prison.
And don't even start on "it's because of torture blah" because torture is no where near as severe as taking lives.

Obama's approval rate has plummeted, and with good reason too.

As a last statement, his talking to America's public schools is EXACTLY what Mussolini did in World War II era Italy.

In my opinion this country is and will be heading into dark times. :/

Yea, those rape victims should really be more responsible. C'mon, man, you can't make such broad generalizations. What about if the mother can't physically give birth without dying or suffering severe injuries? There are exceptions to every rule.

Anyway, Obama is a pretty bad president in the sense that he's done nothing productive yet. McCain doesn't seem all that good either, but I would have preferred him to Obama, albeit by a little bit.

well it really should be the mothers choice
shes the one having the baby and her pain has to be understood too
so obama was a good choice
also the Cuba travels more than once a year was something that i had been witing for and many others too

At this point, I don't feel either one would be able to bring what is needed for America, so I nominate Richard Nixon, one of our former presidents...he's dead now, but at this point, he can't do any worse than what's already been done to this place.

Alright, just a general reminder: This thread is about Obama V.S. McCain, not abortion. Please stick to the topic.

My god. Your ideas and mine on this topic are... exactly the frikking same! Pretty much down to the letter.

I, personally, don't trust any politician at all. They all got into their positions because they're rich and because they want and enjoy power. Are those the right types to entrust our rights to? I realize it's kind of a necessity and a given that the only people ever elected are the ones who step up, but ideally, in a smaller society, we should be going off who is actually qualified, out of the entire population, not just those who have the money to get TV time.

Agreed. It's exactly the same here, they promise things they can't do. Well here in Australia, Rudd is doing a pretty damn good job making our economy get back on track, and the other guy is acting like a total baby, but that's like what, once in a lifetime.

As far as I know with Obama, the only thing he's done that I know of, is that he's the first black president... kinda woop-dee-doo at this time, it's kind of getting old.

McCain did kind of make himself look bad at the start, but he could of done well given the chance.

I know. I mean, I'll take it as a major step when we elect the first president of (X minority/gender), and make no mention of race/gender whatsoever. That, in my mind, would be true progress.

dude. nail on the dot. you got pretty much everything I was going to bring up. I feel exactly the same about everything you said.

Obama is not doing very well, in my opinion. He is doing terrible in the field of what he is doing(his healthcare plan) and what he ISNT doing(all that other crap he said he was going to do).

No offense, but that's the worst reason to vote for someone I've ever heard. When I look for a candidate to support, I look for qualifications, moral code, honesty, etc., NOT the color of his/her skin. That's just a stupid way to vote. No offense.

They're being deported, not released. Europe's taking a bunch of them in, I think. Or was it Obama's initial plan to actually release them?

No torture is nowhere near as severe as torture.

    You're right about the rest.

Let me clear this up for you. NATO had requested for more troops from several NATO nations (including the US) for the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. He has not simply moved troops from Iraq to Afghanistan.

Myself, I'm waiting a year before truly judging him. Changes of such a grand scale take time. It disappointed me to see how some people were judging him barely a month after he was in office. On January 20th, I will have a true, strong opinion.
