Kingdom Hearts II Who is better Riku or Sora?

While it true that Sora has to be strong to be able to wield the keyblade, it seems like everyone forgets that Riku was going to be the keyblade wielder at first, not Sora. Sora got the keyblade once Riku feel to darkness.

One of the reasons that I think Riku is stronger then Sora is becuase that Riku can defeat "Ansem" with a non keyblade weapon, the soul eater. Now, I know that it's true that real power dosn't come from a weapon, but good weapon can make thing so much easier. Most of the members of XIII are really powerful, yet Riku was able to beat #4, #5, #6, the Riku clone, and "Ansem" with the Soul Eater.

Tell me, if Sora was using one of the only non keyblade weapons he used, the struggle bat and toy sword, would he have been able to scratch any members of XIII? No. He would have been beat into the ground winthin half a minute of battle, simple because his weapon wasn't strong enough to do any damage. (I know that Sora can use a lot of magic, but he runns out some time, and then hes in real trouble.)

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that Riku has showen that he can fight without a keyblade, or anyone to help him (like Beast) and still beat some very powerful people.

 

Tis true. I voted Riku. He never has any back up because he can fight on his own, and has both light and dark powers. Sora never had the talent of learning how to manage dark powers without being consumed by it. Riku did. Think about it...Sora isn't stronger. If you were playing the game as Riku and had to fight Sora, you would probably win. Even if it was really really hard, you would probably still find a way to beat him. It really just depends. But I still think Riku is better. Besides, I've always liked those kind of dark, dramatic characters...

 

Okay, I don't really like either of them (as is obvious by my post), but that is just WRONG.

Sora is a lot stronger than Riku. Riku actually said it himself in Com, all of Ansem's power and his COMBINED didn't come close to beating Sora. Sora kicked Riku's *** 3 times over, and Riku had the dark powers in later fights. Want proof? Destiny Islands, Riku's extremely easy, Hollow Bastion w/ Donald and Goofy, yes Riku is outnumbered but he's still easy. Later, Riku is completely powered by Ansem, and their powers combined failed to defeat Sora. While he is a total idiot, Sora is stronger emotionally and stronger in fights. Riku SUCKS as a party member as well. He's only useful for his Limit Break. While some of this is a matter of opinion, it is undeniable that Sora is more powerful than Riku.

I am also baffled with the matter of the keyblade. Riku was obviously it's original target, but that changed because Riku's heart was weak and he opened it to darkness. Riku's heart was far weaker than Sora's from the beginning, so why did the keyblade choose him? Also, it's bizarre that it went from Sora later, because Riku had opened his heart to darkness. Maybe if he called upon it, it had no choice because he was it's original master for apparently no reason, but it still went back to Sora because Riku was going to use it wrongly.

Like I said...You only beat Riku because you HAVE to so you can progress through the game. If you were playing as Riku, you would probably end up beating Sora. Sure the game made it so that you have to beat Riku and played it out like Sora was stronger...but that's just the game. If it were a true battle and you WEREN'T playing as Sora, Riku would be able to beat him. Sure Sora has a stronger heart...but that doesn't matter when it comes to pure physical battling. Riku is only easy because you know how to press buttons on a PS2 controller. In other words, you are good at the game. Has nothing to do with Sora being stronger than Riku.

The keyblade issue is common sense...it CHOSE Riku first because HE'S STRONGER. There are no if, ands, or buts. It's simply put as stated. That's what the game TELLS you. Who cares if Riku was going to use the keyblade the wrong way. That doesn't mean Sora is stronger. He may have a stronger will and a stronger heart, but that doesn't mean he can beat Riku. Sora fans, Sora is strong...but technically if it weren't for Goofy, Donald, and you controlling Sora...Riku could beat him easy. Sorry to say it. Besides, there are a lot of keyblades that are stronger than Riku's weapon so it's not really fair to Riku either..

 

Riku is better because of his hair :P, lol but seriously Riku is just so much cooler and more mature than Sora, and he's had such a hard time..........

 

I say Riku, he actually has a fighting style and a defined curve to his blade, Sora just looks like he is swinging a club around.

 

Yes but remember that Sora fought him in a one-on-one battlewhen he was possessed by Xehanort's Heartless. Even though he was possessed he was still Riku.

 

I chosed Sora. About comparing the soul eater with a wooden sword and a struggle bat, tell me, what's the difference between a magic sword, and a one made from wood or plastic. Do you think tht a keyblade is the strongest weapon? No it isn't. The soul eater is just as strong. Also, I think Sora could beat Riku, even without donald, goofy or us, the players to control him. And if you think that using different keyblades will be unfair to Riku, if you are not controllign sora, so what's the difference between Sora using a kingdom key and ultima weapon in real life? He'll be using his own skills and his own weapon, the kingdom key. Riku was chosen probally because his heart was stronger before he fell into the darkness, but he was weak anough to fall into darkness, and so Sora was chosen.
Is that enouogh the convince you that sora is better?

Didn't you notice that he's become more skilled in Kigndom hearts 2?

 

OK im being literal here I would choose Riku and the only reason that he was beaten is cause he was weak from teleporting from Neverland to hollow bastion/Radient Garden, and when Riku was possesed by Ansem Ansem is a wuss. Theres My Point.:p

 

Dude yeah right. Not trying to be mean but I don't think anyone gets weak from teleportation.

 

I say Riku just because he has the ability to use the dark powers. Sora is strong, though, but I think that Riku may be just a tad bit stronger. He's been through a lot.

Riku is the best; i wonder how he can fight blindfolded plus i like his personality.

I put Riku cos i like his silver hair plus i like his keyblade:)

if you think about it logically then yes Sora is the better of the two but you can only play as Riku for a couple of seconds (minutes if that) with limited attacks so you cant really tell which is better.

 

Riku, because he's just a badass like that.

Rikus cooler but skill wise they are eqaul SOra kicks *** when it comes to fights against dark ness but Rikus wins a gainst light

 

Well Sora kinda beat Riku's a** in both games already so is there really any question? Unless this is just a who is kooler thing?
