There is no RikuxXion. There is a clear connection in the game between Roxas and Xion. If you have not yet played the game then you really have no idea, but it could not be more obvious. There are certain scenes which just give it away. Play the game.

 

Before the game was out, all the people were saying roxas and namine are together and sh*t, and now it's roxas and xion. What, are they gonna have a threesome or something?

 

I'm going with Roxas. Once you see the end of the game. You might agree with me.

Well, since Xion is basically Sora, but she looks like a girl (freaky transvestite cross-dresser...), I guess you could say there's /some/ chance that Roxas loves her. Then again, since she is a giant plot hole, it's possible Roxas just 'moved on', so to speak.

Also, since Xion is Sora... wouldn't that mean that Roxas was in love with himself/his twin (who has no real gender)? That's... ever so slightly, kinda sorta, incredibly disturbing. God, the emo kid has such a big ego that he's paired with himself. Poor Roxas.

The whole Riku x Xion thing just seems... weird. Since Xion /is/ Sora, that just makes it Riku x Sora all over again.

You know, I think Xion is just there to provide 'hidden' pairings. Roxas x Sora, Riku x Sora... Axel x Sora, which is basically Axel x Roxas, but, still.

I feel sorry for Axel, though. He's caught up in this little 'love' triangle. Since they're Nobodies (well, Xion isn't, but, for simplicity's sake, let's say she is), they can't actually 'feel love', but, this is how I see it -

Axel 'loves' Roxas, but Roxas 'loves' Xion, who 'loves' him back. I know I'm making this sound like a soap opera, but, I think Axel might be jealous. He and Roxas had their little thing until she came along and 'stole' Roxas. I think Axel only cares for her in the beginning just because Roxas was there. You know how it is when you meet a friend-of-a-friend and you don't /really/ like them, but you'll be nice to them just so you don't insult your real friend? That's the situation I think Axel's in.

 

From what I've seen, Roxas/Xion is the implied pairing.

HAHAHA...wow. That makes a creepy kind of sense. I guess Xion - as an embodiment of Sora's strongest memory - is attached to anyone who is strongly connected to Sora (Roxas, Riku) and vise versa for the other parties. I'd say 'love' is too bold a word though...I mean, how long was she even around in the organization for?

 

There's the spoiler tag. I don't see how the big, bright green letters will forbid anyone to see things they wouldn't want to see. Then again, they shouldn't be in this section in the first place.

I would agree with you if it wasn't for the "love triangle" insert. Or the "love" in general. Considering I've been through the same situation Axel has been in when it comes to a group of a trio. Trust me, I don't love anyone. Unless you mean in friendship or sisterly. It will be scarring for me otherwise. The rest is what I pretty much got the vibes from Axel since the trailers, with his relationship with Xion. Just a "friend of a friend", or a classmate: the one who you talk to at school, but never hang out or talk to after school. Of course, he somewhat cares for her, Axel wouldn't dislike or hate anyone that didn't precisely do anything to him. He's not that type of person to hold such a grudge, really. But it was mostly through Roxas, and Roxas's idea, that they formed that group, because he wanted all three to eat ice cream together. Axel, always wanting to ease Roxas and not disappoint him (since come on, who will say no to that little guy, he was adorable in Days), was all, "hmm, whatever". While Roxas acted playful to both of them, Axel only showed it to Roxas, which is a, while not at first glance, big difference. On top of that, he probably was suspicious of her soon, and went to look for information. He found out a bit early. Near the end, but early. And he didn't have such a reaction either. At certain times, he even appears ticked off that Roxas and Xion go off together for so long.

And then of course, comes the ice cream stick where it says "winner", who pertains to Axel at the end of the game, because anyone who plays it knows he "won" in the end.

I wouldn't call it triangle; more competition. When they keep saying "best of friends", I keep saying in my head that they should work on Axel then. Because he's certainly not showing it much. Roxas? Yeah. Xion?

I've been in the same spot, and trust me, when some new add-on comes along, it's hard to adjust, especially when it pays more attention to her/him, than to you. It's just normal human instinct of envy, that you want your best friend to pay mind to you after so long of it being just the two of you. Not anyone else. And usually, it's the one whose attention who you are vying for that really is important and matters. In other words, the true friend. Which in this particular case, is Roxas. The third party, while you feel bad if she/he leaves, the affect won't be as strong as when you lose the other. Axel just accepted it, and got used to it.

And another thing, which could be in another thread topic as an answer, but sort of proves the point: Since Xion is a memory-based replica (a.k.a. Xion = Sora's memories), she's able to reflect certain memories related to Roxas or Sora. Xion's appearance varies on the viewer when they see it. To neutral people, she appears hooded. When it panned to Xigbar's point of view, he was seeing Ven. To Roxas, she appears not hooded, mostly because of the fact that they are friends. Axel saw Xion through Roxas in turn and got the same kind of picture as he did: seeing her face. This also explains why when Xigbar and Xion were fighting, in Axel's perspective alone without Roxas, Xion was hooded. So, figuratively, again, the connection is made through Roxas. If it wasn't for him, I doubt Xion and Axel would be as they are now.

"She's" not. They refer to her as a female, at least Roxas, I don't know, out of respect, because that's how they knew her as. Saïx calls her a doll. Don't know about the rest.

"She's" either male, being a Sora clone, or genderless, since her component is Sora's memories (which is just energy, thus, no gender), and it forms into whatever shape it needs to be depending. The only reason she looked female was because at the time she was created, Kairi was Sora's strongest memory. Hell, if Sora's strongest memory was a hard exam he didn't study for, and the experience was so grueling and horrific that it got etched in his mind forever, then Xion will be that said exam.

Yeah, genderless.

And contrary to what people think, she didn't spend as many days with Roxas, despite the year. And it wasn't really "love". Someone actually translated Roxas's Diary entries. I don't even need to say it's a spoiler:

Contrary to popular belief,Xion loves nobody.
She is a nobody so that means she doesn't love, or feel any other type of emotion.
I'm good with making couples, but this takes a little to much out of the story.
Sort of like Yaoi.

 

from what i've seen in the trailers I would have to say Roxas, but I haven't played the game yet, which is why I refuse to look over any more of this thread.

 

Well, I'm not going to be able to tell for sure until I've played the game and actually become acquainted with Xion's character. However, judging by the clips I've seen, I think she and Riku might make a nice couple. Kingdom Hearts, though, does not put much emphasis on romantic relationships. Aside from the Disney plots and the whole Sora/Kairi/Riku love triangle in the first game, romance has hardly been mentioned at all. My guess is it won't play a part in 358/2 Days, but still, it's fun to speculate who might make a good match.

 

I believe it is Roxas because there are words on a translations that mentions she loves him. Of course it would be later on in the game.

Truthfully, that just sounded to me that she was trying to say what she managed to say in the end. That they were her best friends. She was probably just going to say Roxas only, and then said no, and placed in Axel too. Not to mention the fact that she was struggling with words...

And on top of that, there are three separate meanings to the word "love" in Japanese, unlike English, where it all means one thing. There is suki, daisuki, and ai/koi.

And Xion said none of this. Not even the first sounds. Assuming =/= fact.

Either way, I'm guessing Sora can have his threesome now.

I wonder what else he will give birth to >.>. Seriously. The guy is like a factory.

 

If we get over the fact that love is almost never explicit in video games, and assume that Xion loves someone, then it will be Roxas or Riku.
Technically it's Roxas, but there are complications, since they are Nobodies (or whatever Xion is), and Roxas has Namine, whereas Riku is human and single, and they seem to get along.

But even so, we still must assume too many things. Square is messing with our minds.

Although I voted Riku (with arguments of questionable solidity), my guess is that there is no answer. Why would they give an explicit answer, and destroy 80% of all theories, while they can do nothing, and make the series last longer?

Too true, too true. Xion is Sora's worst nightmare... the exam that awaits him when he comes back to Destiny Islands!!!
