Well if jobs followed the way also, then a lot less work would happen... I mean it would be great for some people to relax more but for a lot of companies they will hardly get any progress done.

But school wise, most schools go like this: 1,000 hours or 180 days of average school, and thats about equal to 36 weeks...

With a four day week it would be; 1,000 hrs, 180 days, 45 weeks

So lets try six days for fun; 1,000 hrs, 180 days, 30 weeks

But there are a lot more possibilities like even adding another five minutes of class would cut off hours by the end of the year, or faking sick and not go lol

If we still get the same amount of days off, then I would pick the second one.

Although neither of them are as good as a year long school, those are so awesome.

As long as the school time doesn't get longer, I'm fine
(this is dangerously close to my "school time" thread)

If we had four days, but longer terms, then schools would be giving you harder homework, not to mention for most of the year. Also, it would be uncomfortable going to school when it's hot. And we'd have most of our year consumed by school terms, long weekend or not. And there'd be less time in the year for big holidays, since most of the year's weeks would become school weeks.

Hmm, I can see advantages and disadvantages to both. Either schedule gets kind of in the way of parents who work.

I think actually if there were 4 days a week with an extra hour and a half tacked onto each day, they wouldn't have to add in more days during the summer really and then kids would also be able to be picked up easier by parents who can't get out at 3 oclock from work. Also, there'd be three days of relaxation and doing homework at an easier pace. I think that would be more ideal in the end rather than shortening time off from school.

Then again, extending it so long may exhaust kids sooner. But if they did it where kids had off one day in the middle such as Wednesday and then Saturday and Sunday off, it might help kids to get homework done easier too and make class times a bit longer so kids might be able to complete some assignments in school and also learn their classes easier. So to me, that would be the most ideal situation and not burn kids out so easily but keep holidays and time off as they are. It would also help in winter especially around where I live so that snow days aren't so impacting.

If I have to actually choose between 5 days and 4 days as written, I'm rather torn as both have merits to them and inconveniences.

I'm gonna say 5. It's just the normal way that I'm used to. I would rather keep it that way not for the sake of a longer summer, but just because I'm used to it this way and I don't like change.

    quoted for truth.

I'd hate school year long. I mean, it already takes up about fifteen years if you take out the breaks, why make it full-year just for an extra day? that just seems greedy.
