I think I agree with you. Communication is really what holds a relationship together. Without it, everything falls apart...

Same as everyone else ^^ whether a married couple are straight or gay is irrelevant. It is love, communication, friendship (and so on ^^) that makes a marrigae strong. I know gay couple that have failed more spectacularly than straight ones but I also know gay couples that are stronger ^^ Sexuality has very little to do with it, it's about the way the two individuals react and respond to each other. IMO :)

I disagree. The thing the makes heterosexual marriages so strong is the fact that they can create new life, where as homosexual marriages cannot.

Yeah right, it's actually been proven that couples without kids are generally happier then couples that do have children. And tend to have longer lasting relationships. Kids can get in the way of romance, and everyone knwos there must be romance in a relationship to keep it alive.

I dont know for a fact which marriages are stronger, however, I, being my bi self, have tried both relationships.

When I was with my boyfriend, I never really felt like there was a strong bond between us. But know that I'm with my girlfriend, I feel the love coming from us. I definatly feel a connection and there's never any real serious tension between us. So, In my PERSONAL expieriance, homosexual relationships are a lot better.

But like I said, thats just for me. I think the topic really goes undecided, for different people have different feelings between eachother. I dont think that any relationship is stronger than the other ALL the time.

    ...I hope that made sense.

I dont think there is a better or worse, it depends on each individual and how they work together in their marriage

I do not believe that homosexual or straight relationships are superior. There are homosexual relationships where people have had some of the worst domestic disputes easily over most male/female couplings. There are also male/female couplings that are horrible. However, there are couples for either straight or gay people that work out miraculously well. Also, married people, whether straight or gay do get divorces, and people going out with one another, whether gay or straight do split up. Gay people also do adopt kids and figure out how to work things out around a kid too. Married people that are of opposite gender do not always have kids. Straight married couples with kids do make it work if they want to. Communication and working together makes a marriage work whether the people are gay or straight. It comes down to individuals and I do not think it fair to stereotype and try to say one is superior to the other when really individuals who are straight or gay make things work or they don't. Stereotypes suck.

Also, men and women are much more alike than people sometimes like to admit and the descriptions of 'men or women' are faulty. SOME men treat women like play things. Some women treat men like that too. SOME women will try to manipulate men to getting them things. Some men do that too. For every quality that someone tries to say men or women distinctively have, I can find a plethora of people of the opposite gender that also possess it, and no, it doesn't mean that person is gay either. Stereotypes truly are making people seem very 2D and I have yet to meet someone who is that banal and just is so easily categorized.

Well if you're defining "marriage" on Christian or Jewish terms, homosexual marriages don't exist. The Christian and Jewish religions define marriage as the holy union of a man and a woman. Currently, homosexuals can't have an "official" Christian or Jewish marriage. It has some other name, I can't recall it... But I don't think either is stronger. It all depends on the people.

    Gender doesnt really matter.
What matters is the respect between your partner.

Once/when you have your own kids you'll look back at this statement and laugh. And relationships work on compatibility between people not whether there's sperm or ova in the mix. If that were the case the concept of a relationship wouldn't exist.

Neither, theres always another man to replace that man in a gay marriage, love is a thin thread between being desperate and obsessed. With male-female its the same way. No one is in love forever after losing a loved or cherished one, well scratch , there are some, but after they think to themselves about how they don't have the looks or the pizazz to get another mate.

A homosexual marriage can have just as much strength as a heterosexual marriage. Neither is stronger than the other. It depends on the people.
