Since summer's here, I was thinking about starting up the WMM and making fan-vids again. You all know about the copyright claims and stuff on YouTube, but for some artists they allow you to use the song by putting an ad on your video. Do you know which artists you are allowed to use? Because I don't want to be suspended, haha. The only one I know of is The Killers. I really hope this isn't considered off-topic.
Just put up whatever, and if (when) it gets claimed, use this: Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use. in the second option in the dispute form (first dialogue box). Works every time for me.
