Apple's iPod has been the mp3 player icon forever. Although I've never really thought iPods were all that great, I myself have one. Mine is old though. I've got the 4th gen 60 GB. If I were to get an mp3 player now, I'd get a different brand. Just because I hate how the screen looks on them. DX UGLY BIG SCREEN OF UGLINESS.

Hmm... It all depends on what you like.

iPods have a lot more accessories made for them because they are the most popular. They're very easy to use but can freeze up a lot. There's always great support for them and it has a very nice screen.

I haven't used a Zune, but I heard it sucks. I messed around with one in a store, and there was nothing wrong with it. I heard the file transferring thing sucks and screws up your machine.

Other good ones are those... Samsoas...? I think that's what they're called.

I would say go with iPod. I have one and I lurvveee it.

i like a brand mp3 player cuz the ones i have kinda break or get messed up quickly and they dont have a very good brand name to provide background.
i have the Sansa e205 2gb but even with the cover provided (looks like the ipod cover) it got scratched really bad... bad enough to litearry break the screen of anger... which i did so i got a hard case and i cut the screen n i replaced it with a piece of tape... :p also 1 but the sansa (older version) ate the battery in like 3 uses. so my duracel bill got high in a month lol.

the iPod shuffle (older version) didnt satisfy me because of the screen. and my mom has the 5th GN of the iPod 30gb. and i like it but it does freeze @ times... rarely though...

I bought an iPod Nano, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it, though it gets scratched very easily (i.e., if you buy one of them, buy a cover too!)

Sansa is awsome the LCD screen breaks judt as easily as an ipod. Also if your electricity is down than you can't charge your ipod but with an sansa you can just get a triple A battery and put it in.

    SANSA FOREVER!!! :)

I have an Ipod and it is serving me well. I had to replace the battery once, but that was because I dropped it in water.....

And my sister's Ipod was above repair, and it was past warrently. SO she went to an apple store and they gave her a new one for free.

I have a 2nd gen. iPod nano myself.

It's pretty good, but freezes quite often. Also, if you are to buy an iPod... here are some tips...

    1) buy a case with a screen cover - iPod's scratch easily so be well prepaired...

    2) NEVER charge your iPod while there is still life on it's battery - Apple uses Lithium batteries in their iPods, and if you keep charging while the battery still has life, the battery will start to remember the spot where you are charging and continue to charge it from that spot, killing off the rest of the uncharged battery after a period of time... Your iPod will never get a full charge again... (I learned this lesson quickly after my last iPod started to only last a half-hour after a full charge >.<)

    3) I'm not too certain whether this problem still occurs or not but...

BE WARNED... iTunes (the program iPods use) IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH WINDOWS VISTA. It's been shown that if you try to connect an iPod to Windows Vista... the iPods internal memory can reciave serious damage...

    4) ALWAYS purchase the Extended Warrenty - you never know when your iPod will just decide to die on you so always go for the warrenty extension. (Some stores are nice and will even give you a free replacement if your iPod dies after a certain time)

If I were you though, I would go for a good "iPod look-alike". There are many brands out there that have all the same functions of an iPod and sometimes even more, like voice recording, radio, or bigger memory, and they still cost less than an iPod.

Do your research though before you go out and get an MP3 player, each MP3 player is different and it might take some time before you find the perfect one for you.

(Hope all my long rambling helps XD)
