Kingdom Hearts II Where did Pete and Maleficent go?

At the point where you're about to fight Xemnas, a buncha heartless comes marching in. Then Pete and Maleficent takes over the fight for you. But what happened to them afterwards?

 

I noticed this too. I've always wondered what happened to them. :blink:

Well they left to fight the heartless, right? So maybe they die? I don't know.

 

They probably fought the heartless, and then moved to a different location. Since the castle was going to be destroyed, they probably didn't want to be in it when the time came.

There's something I don't understand about Pete and Maleficent: How did Maleficent get out of the Nobody mess after King Mickey disappeared through the dark portal?

 

Good question. I actually have no clue; I think she just was holding them up as a rare act of kindness towards sora (or a not-so-rare act of hatred towards the Orgry XIII), and as soon as she saved him, she just left easily. Maybe it was all just a distraction.

 

Works for me! Now we just need to find out what their next move is...finding another castle?

 

Yeah this is i still can't find out.

 

Their next move is probably to preceed with their previous plans. Sora may have defeated Orgy XIII, but that doesn't get rid of the heartless. So Meleficent and Pete will probably just carry on with the heartless as usual.

In fact, sora kinda made it easier for Mele and Pete.... now there are no nobodies to kill the heartless XD

 

I don't know about that. Sure the Org members are gone, but that doesn't mean more won't appear. I mean, we found out about a 14th member, so they might have some reserves or something. And even that aside, plenty of Dusks appeared after Xemnas was defeated.

I imagine they would have to lay low first, but yeah, continue with their previous plans. She wouldn't be Maleficent is she didn't try to take over Kingdom Hearts...unless she found a bigger prize.

 

Maleficent held the Nobodies off and Riku took Sora away back to the ship after giving him the box with the ice cream and photo in it. I'm pretty sure she just dark portaled elsewhere herself once Riku had taken Sora. It does make me wonder if Riku didn't somehow coerce her there or if Riku just took advantage of the scene.

Maleficent throughout KH2 seemed to have to realize that she was no longer top dog and that the Nobodies were a bigger threat to her even as they were out to make themselves exist while possibly making many others not exist.

As for the scene with her and Pete taking on the Heartless, they were out of control but at the same time, with effort she may have been able to gain control of those and hold them back since she does have darkness abilities. After that, it's probably as mentioned, they took off because the area was unstable and it wasn't a good enough castle for her after all.

I do think Maleficent's role through KH2 pretty well made her seem really pathetic and if she's in the next KH stuff, she gets to do something cool again.

 

I had a theory about that, actually. Notice how they appear, and then-poof!- they are gone? Well, what i think is that they dissappeared because Xemnas was dead. As in, once it registered in them that their leader was gone, they just....died.

But yeah, the 14th member...hmmm...

 

Interesting theory with Riku, but I disagree about that. Riku couldn't stand her in CoM, so I doubt he'd be willing to work with her, and I doubt Maleficent would be willing to give him any favors, especially for whatever he gave her in return.

I didn't think about her ability to control the heartless. Quick thinking. But wouldn't that mean they would still catch up with them after Xemnas was defeated?

 

Yeah, I doubt she did it to work with Riku, but Riku showed up in the nick of time and took advantage. He did that a lot in the story even though it was barely noticeable. However, she did want to get Sora on his way. It was just something odd I noticed.

I believe that after Xemnas was defeated, Riku and Sora weren't even at the same location as before and the Nobodies seemed to vanish, maybe choosing non-existence, or just getting out of there. That scene could be taken either way. However, I'm not sure what happened to the actual TWTNW city and all with the Heartless, or anything since it never showed it being destroyed and Sora and Riku just ended up at the water.

It's hard to say whether the castle was utterly demolished by Xemnas but it was pretty trashed as Riku and Sora had to leave and take the transport or else they were in some trouble because it was collapsing. The Heartless though, without the Nobodies there, may have been easier for Maleficent to control, but in the end, I think if she didn't secure the area, she probably had to leave. I had the -feeling- that TWTNW was destroyed when the Nobodies left, but that is a good mystery. So we either have it that Maleficent remained there and probably took over because the Nobodies left, or she skedaddled out of there after holding the Heartless back as long as she could. =:/

 

Fair point with Riku. It does seem odd.

Here's something that strikes me a little odd, though: The bottle. It just 'happened' to wash up as soon as Sora and Riku took a breather on the beach. I understand the 'door to light' thing (more or less), but that seemed like another large coincidence that the bottle would reach them.

By TWTWN, I assume you mean the fake one DiZ created, because the real one showed up in the credits. Even if Maleficent stayed behind to claim the castle, I find it hard to believe she would try to make it something more than it was, with the shape it was in after the battle. She doesn't seem like an architectually creative person, nor does she have the patience. Look at Hollow Bastion. She left it in a pretty sorry state.

 

Yeah, I agree. If TWTNW castle there endured, and she did get control of it, she'd leave it in a sorry state and just put a bunch of magic defenses and thorn stuff all around. She doesn't tend to fix things up. Also, she'd probably make an area for Pete so he'd leave her alone. *snickers*
