Kingdom Hearts II When Roxas Befriended Hayner, Pence, and Olette?

I've been pondering about this for a while, and I just can't figure it out...when exactly had Roxas been befriended by Hayner, Pence, and Olette?

What I know is that Roxas, he'd been wandering around Twilight Town for a while it seems, lost, uncertain of what to do, as a Nobody, until Xemnas approached him, giving him his new name ('Roxas', as according to the 'New You' KHIIFM scene...).

After that event, Roxas had joined the Organization, hadn't he? So then, when had he the time to meet Hayner, Pence, and Olette, if at all? Or was the entire time he was in Twilight Town, it wasn't re-created from his memories, it was just DiZ, making a sort of illusion of memories for him?

So I'm quite confused, and if someone could explain this to me, I would be very grateful...it's probably explained somewhere in the game, but I missed it, so gomenasai, if I caused anyone any inconvience. :sweatdrop:

 

I read in a Tetsuya interview that Roxas saw them eating ice cream. He was jealous of their friendship. He then walked over to them. (Last I a guessing)

 

Well, what DiZ did with Twilight Town, his fabricated version, was remake the town along with fake people of original people there in the real one. (boy that sentence was a doozy). I do think Nomura said something about Roxas having met Pence, Olette and Hayner in the real Twilight Town, since that's where he showed up, and it is also obvious that Axel and Roxas spent time in the real Twilight Town so perhaps it is sometime in 358/2 Days he at least saw them and why all 3 say they sort of think Sora looks familiar to them but they can't place why. I don't know if they ever really talked to each other though in the real Twilight Town or if Roxas just watched them.

 

I second that. I think the fake people gave DiZ control over them since he made the digital Twilight Town... making them act/think like normal people... and making Hayner, Pence, and Olette think that they were friends with Roxas. (At least, for a while.) In Roxas' case, it's all Namine's doing.

I'm pretty sure he met them after he left the organization. Though I'm not too sure when exactly...

 

IMO they were created by DiZ along with the rest of the fake Twilight Town, and DiZ programmed them to think they were Roxas's friends.

 

If u listen to the info though Roxas showed up in the real Twilight Town and when he was in the Organization him and Axel was on the Twilight Town clock tower and if u watch that cutscene Roxas says "I want to go back to the way I was". After that he says something about being friends with Ollete and them. So what are you talking about. Roxas knew them before he left the organization and went to the digital Twilight Town I watch almost every cutscene I should know. Sooooooooooooo............ Correct me if I'm wrong so what I'm thinking is that Roxas was friends with them before he went to the organization. Also if you remember before Sora left to go to Yen Sid's tower Hayner asked him" Are you sure we never met before?". Roxas looks like Sora right? Hayner probley was remebering Roxas. If you got a better theory then be my guess, but thats what I think sorry if I sounded harsh.

I also think that Roxas once/sometimes spotted the trio when he was in the Organization. Though I do wonder if the Org was attacking Twilight Town during 358/2 Days or if it's only in KH2? It could very well be the reason why Sora seemed so familliar to them, yes. (during the time he was friends with the trio those were digi versions)

I think my post was somewhat misread. Let me fix it here. =:)

I meant to say that there's a good chance he had at least met and conversed with Olette, Hayner and Pence possibly in the -real- Twilight Town when he appeared there. How close they were as friends is debatable so I would think we might see what happened in 358/2 Days more. The Organization did pick up Roxas there and also they went back repeatedly in 358/2 Days because that's the setting where they go to fight Heartless.

The evidence points to this because when the real 3 meet Sora they ask him if they had met him before because he looked somewhat familiar to them. So, Roxas may have met them before and spoke with them.

However, all of the reactions that happened between Roxas in KH2 and the 3 was done in the fake Twilight Town, and possibly DiZ made the design there that the 3 were the best of friends with him and Namine constructed his temporary memory to show this sort of thing. How close the 4 of them were in reality remains to be seen but it is probable they at least had some conversation with one another and when Namine adjusted his memories, she made them there in the fake world to keep up the ruse and also have something familiar to him so that he would go along with it better. Anyone in the digital version (fake Twilight Town) had originated in design from the real Twilight Town, and since the Org had gone there and Roxas and Axel even spent some quality time eating ice cream etc, he may have possibly encountered and chatted with the 3 real people at one time or another, but possibly they were made more 'real' of friends in KH2 with the digitized simulation than they were in reality.

 

Interesting, But I'm still gonna go with my theory, If you've read it.

 

Thanks for explaining some of it to me, and for your theories...so let me get this straight...

We're actually not exactly sure, because the 358/2 Days should explain it better (hopefully) but for now, the most resonable explanation was that Roxas was a part of the Organization, and with Axel, they often went to Twilight Town. Roxas had conversed with Hayner, Pence, and Olette, but he hadn't done activities with them, such as going to the beach, hanging out at the Usual Spot, etc. He was also envious of them, which was why Axel had given him some salt-sea-ice cream.

In DiZ's town, everything was fabricated, and the time Roxas spent with Hayner, Pence, and Olette were just an illusion, based on real people and a real place.

...Is this right?

Hmm, I did read it but see, before Roxas joined the Organization, he wandered around, lost, without a name. Then, Xemnas approached him, giving him his new name. It's possible that Roxas met with Hayner, Pence, and Olette before, but he would've acted sullen, almost withdrawn. This is implied from when Xemnas speaks to Roxas, asking him if he wants to be somebody, and Roxas wordlessly nods. It shows that before, he didn't know who he was, and thought of himself as a worthless Nobody (or something like that).

So it's more probable that when Roxas joined the Organization, he met Hayner, Pence, and Olette. However, how many times they did meet, I'm not certain...it could've been numerous times or just a few. Hopefully 358/2 Days will clear that up. lol But either way, Hayner would recognize Roxas.

 

Yes, that pretty much sums it up.

There was a Nomura interview a while back where somebody asked if Roxas actually crossed paths with the real Hayner, Pence, and Olette and Nomura answered with something along the lines of "I suppose you could say that.". Roxas could have never really been friends with them at all; they just became illusions to fuel DiZ's fake twilight town.
