When do you think 2.5 will/should be released??

I've just been thinking out this. it's pretty much a dead cert that this game will come out in the future but when?

I cant see them releasing it on the next gen console so i would imagine it would be on ps3.

But it hasn't even been announced yet (probably will be at TGS in a few days)
so it cant be released at this time next year surely? the PS4 would of been out nearly a year.....

I understand that they will still release games onto ps3 but it starts to phase out after 12months of the new console being out.

Any Thoughts on this ?

 

I think it'll probably be out September next year? Looking at the Wiki, it says 1.5 was announced last September, and it was released here, well, in September. So if we go by that pattern (under the assumption it's announced at TGS), that should be it. However, KHII probably has more content than 1.5, so that'd be a factor, and it might take a while longer.

 

Thats what im saying if its released next year then the next gen consoles will of been out over a year. and i would assume most people would be selling their ps3 to fund a ps4.... its not worth hanging on to a ps3 for a year extra for a new release to come out. i for one will of stopped using my ps3 and be playing my ps4 when it comes out. and i doubt il even look at my ps3 after a year of ps4 ownership.

 

No, people who get rid of their PS3 for a PS4, imho, are really stupid. I know I, and many others, still play the PS2. (I also still play my gamecube, as well as GBA games.) Secondly. PS2 games were still produced for a very long time after the PS3 was released. For instance, FFXII was only available in certain regions after the release of the PS3. That was still a successful game.

Secondly, they already made 1.5 for the PS3. It would be silly to release it for the PS4, and since they already know their way around the PS3, it would just be easier porting it to that.

 

I still play my ps2...although they keep bringing out HD versions of the games i play haha

they already made KH1 and KH2 on the ps2 it would be silly to release more on the GBA PSP NDS MOBILE :) I know what you're saying i just don't want them thinking they wont make enough sales....wait, unless they release it on Gaikai! that way it can be played on PS4 and still bought Psychically for the ps3. that would make most sense if they are going to release it next year....

 

This has been discussed in many threads before. If I'm not mistaken the consensus is either late 2014 or early 2015 on ps3.

The time that requires to make a "new game", I wouldn't be surprised if we still have good Ps3 games for the next 3 years .. even though most developers were briefed about Ps4, and what would be in it, they probably didn't have a developers kit for long.. So probably only the "40 games" that sony said there are being made for Ps4, are being made for Ps4.. all the other games were already planned for this generation, and probably it would be more expensive to drop the ps3 by now.. I can see a lot of cross generation games for some time.

About Ps4+ Ps3.. with no word as how GAIKAI will work, it is safer to stick with your Ps3 (as Ps4 won't have native backwards compatiblity ).. and there are a lot of great games at Ps3, and Ps4 will have what 8? Probably you won't like all of them, and maybe you will eventually run out of things to play for some time (short time probably).

I highly belive that KH 2;5 will be on PS3! Don't quite recall the interview, but If I am not mistaken there were some questions about "Will KH 1.5 remix be in gaikai?" and Nomura wasn't aware of the details.. so It would not be a surprise if they make some plans about making a Ps4 version of the bundle along with the Ps3?
And at the E3, Nomura said KH III was the first game that they will make from scratch to the new generation (that they made a new model and stuff) even though FF will be out before as port to next gen, so if 2.5 is out at ps4 it will probably be a port (I think)

 

IIRC Nomura said that he wants to release a KH game every year to keep fans happy. and so it would make sense going on that philosophy that he may release it next sept or just an announcement next sept. idk where i read that, but i know for sure he did.

 

If the PS4 doesn't have backwards compatibility, then selling your PS3, which has many games you can still play on it, wouldn't be the smartest move. It'd be like putting up a pet for adoption when you still have the dog food, a dozen leashes and/or collars, dog house, dog shampoo and the multitude of chew toys. it makes no sense.

Also, the PS2 was still releasing games, even this year. 2 games (FIFA 14 and Don 2: the game) came out this year, as well as an expansion for FFXI. (source) That was seven years after the PS3 came out. I realize that the PS3 might not have the same longevity to it, and it is only 3 games, but it shows that people will still play the system and buy the games, even when there's a newer and very much more advanced system out. I give PS3 two years at least. Which is plenty of time for 2.5!

 

They are 'hoping' Gaikai will eventually be a full back catalogue of games, which would be sweet.

i understand what you are saying about not selling the ps3 but its also like having an old car thats good on fuel, and then selling it and buying a better, newer, faster car.

Although i am not speaking for myself with that statement as i intend to keep my ps3 for a very very long time mainly because of 1.5 and 2.5 i always like to go back and play them. also Gran Turismo is out on ps3 and i don't think its coming to ps4 as of yet. I've just purchased FFIV and I'll still be playing that aswell.

My PS4 will be here on the day of release and im super excited.....although i haven't chosen a game i want with it yet, nothing is really jumping out at me.

 

I think it'll be announced at D23 this year and hopefully be out next year for PS3 and possibly on PS4 using Gaikai or the Playstation Store. I'm hoping for Kh2 Final Mix, BBS, Re: Coded and 3D. I would spend a couple hundred if they did that!

Why not? 358/2 days and BBS are good games and even if I enjoyed coded the least, it was still a fun game, I'd replay it if they made a HD collection of the other games.

I don't see them doing this to DDD yet since it only came out last year. But it could happen.

Not counting BBS Volume Two, we have just gotten a HD remix of KH1 and RE:Com as well as all the cinematics for 358/2 days.

So when they do bring out 2.5 HD I'm sure it'll most likely the gameplay for Days, KH2, Coded and maybe BBS. But we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

You didn't drive me nuts I just have a hard time reading your post because it read like a five year old had written it. And I said I enjoyed Re:Coded the least not I disliked it, there is a big different
