sooo i am trying to find a new book to read, and i was wondering what everyone's fav book is so i can get some ideas. :D
Animal Farm ftI dunno. Didn't like his Animal Farm book, but meh. Class thing. >_> (inb4HarryPotter) Fave book would have to be...hmmm. So many good ones... Uhhh... Harry Potter 7th book. Yeah, I know lol. I freaking loved it though. 6th and 7th.
Wow, that's a really good question. I love so many of the books that I read, I can't really pinpoint just one. For me, it would have to be The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton,even though I haven't read the book in a very long time. That was the first book that I really enjoyed reading and it was at such a good point in my life too. The story was fun and the characters were very colorful. I have to agree with you there. My favorite in that series would have to be Deathly Hallows. It's the best of her work and a good way to end the series (although it was a little cliched).
The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld and Ryukishi07's When They Cry series (might not count as they are visual/sound novels) are some of my absolute favorites. I really would recommend anything by Scott Westerfeld in a heartbeat 8D. Other than that I personally loved Lord of the Flies, Alice in Wonderland, ...aaaand a load of other books I can't think of off the top of my head... I'll come back and edit them in later, maybe >>;.
:0 I was going to mention Deathly Hallows as well...but I really enjoy The Adventures of Robin Hood and even the other books in the series; first read it when I was really young, and have loved it ever since.
I have to say it's Hush, Hush by Becca Fritzpatrick. It was a really good book about fallen angels, the ideas in it are really creative and different which gives it a good feel. It's one of those books that just dissolves when you read it, you get sucked in and don't leave the world the book creates until you put it down. The plot is all about a girl who sees this one guy in her class all over the place, like he's following her and he seems to know a lot about her. The story unravels and a lot happens, I know it's a great way of describing it. It's really good and a lot better then I'm making it out to be. If you're looking for a good book to read though then I would also recommend the Hunger games trilogy: It's set in the future, in a world that is dominated by a horrible city of people. Each year they hold the Hunger games where they get a girl and boy tribute from each district (12 in all, the district is basically like other cities) and put them in an arena so they can fight to the death. The books follow one character called Katniss who takes the place of her sister in the hunger games and it's all about her story. They're both very good books. Hush, hush is my favourite but the Hunger games are just so easy to read.
Little Brother- Corey Doctorow (Reminded me of 1984 slightly, though I think that's what the author was going for here. Oddly enough it was written by one of the co-editors of boing-boing, and the book was published under Tor books.) Paper Towns- John Green Magic City- Drew Lerman
Well, one of my favs is (Believe it or not) The Lord of the Rings. also from Tolkien is the Hobbit, and Smith of Wooten Major is good too. Ooh! And Inkheart by Cornielia Funke. That book turned into a trilogy, but the first one is the only one worth reading. And if you like that one, another good Funke is the Thief Lord. If you like fantasies, those are good. Then there's a Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket, and The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart is a good one. And Frank Peretti writes some real interesting stuff too. My favorite Peretti is Nightmare Acadamy. lol, I read a lot of books. anyway, I hope this helped!
My absolute favorite series are The Chronicles of Narnia. I like Harry Potter books too, and Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz (if you like the action/mystery-ish genre). And pretty much anything by John Green like Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, Looking for Alaska, Will Grayson, Will Grayson... yup :)
Well whatever. We're reading it in English. I've been wanting to read it for ages but I've never done it.
The Enchanted forest series, that was a good book! The un-proper princess, got me to read it, going to live with the dragons, made me complete it, and the text grabbed me as well. And the Inheritance Cycle books are great too !
The Opposite of Fate: Memories of a Writing Life by Amy Tan. I read this as part of my independent study in Journalism and was blown away. This is not a fictional piece, in fact it is memoir, but if you are interested in writing(or just stories of family life and growing up) definitely check it out.
