When someone mentions nuclear power, they're not referring to nuclear waste....

We're already switching to Ethanol, peeps... Several states have been putting ethanol stations up, and it's already been in use for over 10 years. That, and electricity. Hybrids are actually becoming somewhat affordable. Oil won't run out completely for a long while, considering we still have places in Alaska which are completely untapped. I think we'll be alright, especially if electricity and ethanol continue to grow as they already are.

Mind you, I have no idea what other countries are doing. I just know it costs about 4 USD more to buy a gallon's worth of gas in most parts of Europe. xD

I must journey to see an all ethanol pump someday, the only ones that come close that I know of are pumps that are distributing ethanol and gas combinations.

I'm almost 100% sure that there's more than one in Kansas and Missouri. Least that's what my mother tells me. Plus, I -think- it orignated in Kansas to begin with. Could be wrong though.

If we're going to use methane we'd have better luck using the fumes from garbage.

That's odd. I live in Missouri and my homeroom teacher last year kept on talking about CO2 output, oil, judgment day, etc. and she never ONCE talked about an ethanol pump. And she spent like 45 minutes one day talking electricity conserving lightbulbs instead of... y'know math and stuff >_>.

Simple, when gas runs out, gas runs out.

It's not going to be an end of the world because we lost one resource. Hopefully, people will be smart enough to think of an alternative source of energy instead of gas.

Well, this was complete crack in my mind, but I did see a story on NBC about a car that runs on the oils and grease from French Fries and hamburgers at local restaurants.

Thinking back on that, I realize there's a use for McDonald's after all.

There's so many different solutions to crude oil gasoline... To name a few, ethanol/vegetable oil, hemp oil... all environmentally sound solutions. I imagine nothing will really change except that we'll just have a different fuel source.

It's a great chance that mankind will find and fully use another source for fuel by the time we run out of gas. I just hope they find the final solution soon.
