What was the game that got you into gaming?

Super Mario Bros. 3. And I mean the one back on the NES. And I mean the REAL NES, not an emulator. And not the GBA version.

This was back in the days when people actually knew what a Game Genie was. :huh:

 

What the hell is a Game Genie?

 

a Game Genie is a little tool that was available for an NES, GB, Genesis, Master system (I'm guessing) and a few others maybe, that was basically an action replay and I'm supposing that it eventually evolved into a Game Shark.

the game that got me into gaming was Zelda 1 on NES, fun game which sadly....I have yet to beat except with that confounded game genie....

I remember we used to have an old Nintendo, Super Mario Bros 1 and 3.

But the game that TRUELY made me a gamer was Crash Bandicoot 2: Wrath of Cortex. From that point on I became a gamer.

I LOVED that game.

 

Oh boy..I dont think I can remember my very first game..I think it was Pokemon Red,then on the console it was Donkey Kong 64 ^^

 

I don't really remember...I do remember that I used to have a SNES, but I was pretty young. I know I was into the whole Pokemon game thing, but what really sparked my interest would have to be Kingdom Hearts Two. I remember the night well when I first saw...my cousin had gotten it for his birthday, and I just happened to be at their house when they were playing it, and I sat on their bed and watched them play through like ALL of Roxas' part, and Yen-Sid's Tower, and Hollow Bastion first visit. I think I might of watched them for like four hours....

 

My first real game was Spyro the Dragon. I loved that game (even though the creepy blue theif in it scared me at first >.<) and I would play it forever and then I just started to buy more games.

 

The very first Mario Bros. Game.

 

Breath of Fire, hands down....

 

Trick question, almost any game can get a person into gaming (its true) but it's more like whats the first game you can remember than what you asked.

lol i was like 6-7 and i would play over and over again even though i sucked and i died almost non-stop i loved that game but after that i stopped playin for a while and then it was donkey kong country that got me back into it at like age 9

 

Metal Gear Solid.

It is soooo cool.

And it was actually the first game I had that actually had a good story.

Zelda and Mario fo'sho :D

I can't quite remember what Mario game since I started at about the age 4-6. But I do remember that the Zelda game was Ocarina of Time. And of course, all games for nintendo 64 controls :D

 

i think it was either Megaman X or Zelda: Link to the Past. Zelda on the SNES was a HUGE game with lots to figure out, defintely the hardest game i beat as a child. i didn't figure it ALL out on my own though, i remember my friends from my street came over and we would all play together and figure out the puzzles and stuff, great times.

 

Not true. I played games before that n' they never interest me. N' my sister has played games but she never enjoyed 'em until 'bout a year ago.

Stuff for SNES and Pokémon are the farthest back that I can remember, (also N64) but what really got me into being a gamer, was actually Kingdom Hearts 2. I had never actually been so much of a gamer before I started that game, I actually got my PS2 to play KH2.
