It seems like every night I go to KHV now, there's a database error screen. Is it from too many people on at once or is it a thing that has to be fixed.
Considering the site used to get a lot more traffic than this I doubt that is the issue. Though getting a dedicated server would be a god send.
I don't think we're entirely sure what the cause is, but it probably has a lot to do with the horrible server we're on. We do try to get everything back and running as soon as possible though. At the moment RvR's looking for solutions, so please just bear with us for the time being, sorry to inconvenience everyone because I know they can last quite some time.
If we're sharing a server, then could it 8e rel8ed to the activity of other sites on the server? From what I gather, admins are a8le to repair it in some scenarios, while in others, we just have to w8 it out.
We've contacted the host about this problem and they gave us a hand in fixing it. Any functions that were disabled in between the DBEs should be working again as well.
Same here. At least they're trying to fix it. I was afraid KHV had been hacked again the first time it happened.
This is the first time in almost 2 days for me that I was actually able to get on. Of course, by days I mean "logged on at 8:30, saw DB error, left to do other stuff and never came back"
This round was actually bad enough that host tech support was called in. Hopefully that means that is the end of them for a while. Ultimately we are still looking at moving to a better server, but short of a very large donation to khv that will be a long time coming.
Yeah, Database Errors are pretty annoying.... but I'm sure the staff is working hard to get this problem fixed as we speak! I guess we just have to wait and tough through it until the problem gets solved.
