What Songs do You listen to?

Hello Everybody,
Recently I have been thinking of starting up a little DJ Business and I know that having the right kind of music is important to become successful. I have a pretty large library of songs, but I (Being a nerd) am not very in tuned with what songs people are listening to because I'm soo far out of the circle that it looks like a square with a haircut.

This is where you guys come in:
Could you please fill out what kind of songs you guys (and gals) listen to and what songs are considered “popular” at the moment. A note of concern: Please watch the sexual theme’s in the songs and also language because not everyone wants to hear someone yelling the F word at you 50,000,000 times. Also if you could provide whether it is on iTunes or not would be helpful.

So just say something like:

Dude these are my favorite songs!

"Here it goes again" by Ok GO

"Carry on Wayward son" by Kansas

"Don't Stop me now" by Queen



And so On...

Rap and hip hop music are the real popular ones these days. People want something to dance to. But I don't like to listen to that kind. I like more of a punk/rock genre, but it hasn't been very popular lately in my opinion. It's not on the radio as often as I want it to. Electronica and techno types would be a good way to start off because its easy to work with, it has good beat, good sound and good for dancing to. It's also easier to remix than other genres, or that's what I find anyway. :D​

well i am partial towards clasical myself. but then again im not like most teens now am i.

 

I listen to around Rock genres. But if you're going to mix something I suggest Hip Hop it's super famous right now so is Rap. You can always remix/mix dance songs so yeah. Usually the Top 40 remixes are most popular but you try what you'll have fun doing.

Cascada is a good one too. I can give you a whole list of great techno DJ's if you like...

Alright as for songs that are popular right now... lol well I feel like listing them but you could just download i-Tunes and it'll show the top 40 at the moment. If you can't download i-Tunes just search it on google.

Oh and I suggest not to do Rock remixes cause most of them aren't popular I'm guessing because people who like dance music don't like rock and vice versa.
