I don't have a problem with religion. I mean I really don't like it when people who believe in evolution try to shove it up you nose and I don't like it when someone tries to shove christianity up someone's nose. I also don't think people should go around saying I'm right and your wrong
so that makes me better than you stuff either.

You can't be forced into religion or evolution, it's something you have to actually agree with. After all no one like to be wrong.

Don't hate me for saying this but evolution just doesn't make sence to me. They don't really say what happends to you after you die. It just can't be over or else there is no reason for existance. Also (one thing I learned in Science class) what's a trully good reason for studying Science if it's all an accident. Just a note from science.

I really don't have a problem with different religions accept for the fact that when you die your bias tells you either nothing happeneds or there's a really complicated process in dying.

So there you have it my essay is done. Try not to kill my ideas while I'm gone...

The reason Science does not tell you what happens after you die is because there is no solid proof to what happens and if you listen to religions there are TONS of things that happen.

Some people believe in reincarnation, others believe in Heaven and Hell, some believe in a limbo, purgatory, others believe in a cycle, and some believe you join with the whole of the nature spirit of the universe.

Science won't just claim to know what happens because there is no proof or validity and so the question is left unanswered. Religions try to say that 'this is what happens' and with so many religions telling you -how it is- why does it matter if evolution doesn't explain that? Evolution focuses on what is tangible and here. Spirituality and philosophy question what's beyond what we know, and science also questions it, but until something is absolutely -known-, no one other than a religious person who takes a leap of faith is going to say they have the answers. If that's all you look for is an answer to what happens after you die, then you won't have to look at anything but some religion. I suppose I prefer, since there are so many choices of what happens after you die depending on what religion you choose, to not care and stop fearing the unknown. When it happens, it does.

Some Atheists will just say 'you die when it's over and that's it'. Others say they don't know. Evolution however does -not- deal with the afterlife, so I have no idea why you think it does. This is what annoys me though. People refuse to read or pay attention to the actual class and then can make comments like this which just shows me that no attention was paid at all, or that they heard things not there, or that the school teacher instructing it doesn't know crap and is teaching it wrong. However, no one can be -forced- to believe in evolution or in religion or anything for that matter. We all have a free will, as you said.

Hehehehe pretty much the same as everyone else, I do not hate Christianity, I find it impressive that people can have so much faith in something that has no solid basis in fact, I admire that.

I do have to point out though, that in discussion those who are Christian can sometimes be just as disrespectful to non believers, calling their ideas stupid. I use the example of the evolution thread because thats the one you picked, in that thread some of those who are Christian got just as disrespectful if not more so of those people who were arguing the case for science.

When people follow different paths in life there is bound to be conflict and Science vs Religion is an issue that will be present for a very long time yet to come. Making a thread like this I think sets up a "them vs us" atmosphere. IMO.

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, so I think it is perfectly reasonable for an atheist to express their opinions in the same way those with religion do. Its not about hate, it's about standing up for what you believe in.

p.s PAW you seem to have a liking for setting up threads that divide people, much like your one aimed at Staff and Premiums. =/

I do not wish peopel to be divided CTR, I just want to tell people and show them everyone should be equal because we are all the same, we may think differently and act differently but we are atill the same, no matter, I just want to know why people want to be divided and how to make everyone a whole, I only wish to help no more, no less....

Yet the way you post implies that it is perfectly acceptable for those without faith to have their opinions not listened to, those with faith are allowed to speak them are they not? So why should those without it have to keep their opinion unspoken? That goes against your idea of equality. If we are all equal then surely ALL people are allowed to express their opinions and views regardless of their faith or lack there of.

That is not true! I just want both sides, faith or lack of faith, to RESPECT each other and accept that the other believes in their particular belief, without saying the other is crazy or stupid or any insult. The two things that are most sacred to me in life are: RESPECT and TRUST. If everyone followed these to paths life would be so difficult, I want people to atleast acknowledge them, they are what deives me forward in life, to achieve both of them.
I know a few things in life and one of them is that nothing is as it seems, you have to look behind the surface to find the truth, now-a-days people only look on the surface, just saying what they first see, Christians are not all dedicated-nutcases dispelling everyone elses thought, I know their are good people who are Christians, its their choice, others don't believe in a or multiple God/s because they believe in science, they have a belief that the world was created by the big bang, and we evolved from apes, but still both sides should respect the others beliefs
And act 'civillised' without starting an argument and no-one can tell me a discussion is an argument, because arguments end in fights while discussions end in the insights of someone elses belief, thats why I wish people to respect one another, so they can understand the other person, that is all I want.

Not to seem like I'm ganging up on you here, Paw, but really, the topic even says it all and your opening statement too is pretty one-sided. I see nowhere that you actually came out and said 'why are the Christians being so hard on the atheists and other faith believers?'. That is why the person above is telling you it seems that you just divided it on a one-sided point.

I have many friends of the Christian faith as well, and can say if I talk to some of them I don't bring up religion at all except if they ask. Why? Because it is a point of debate and I respect them for who they are regardless of religion, gender, sexual preference, etc. It's the actual person I care for. However, I can say in my time I have met also many biased Christians that if they see a mere thing that relates to another belief other than Judaism, they are automatically not liking the person or try to 'save' it like the person is now an animal you are teaching to not pee on the floor.

I'm sorry, Paw, but sincerely, if you make a topic like this and support just one side by saying that 'all of this stereotypical classed group' are not that way, it's fine and dandy but look again at some of the very zealous comments from -some- of them in the Evolution vs Creation and other thread former to that. The Christians that voiced their opinions for Creationism that were well spoken were not bothered, were they? However, the ones who wrote uneducated, ranting, illogical posts were debated on. Why? Because it's a debate and the hopes to see 'constructive' words out of those people was desired over the garble-de-gook we were instead tossed. I think for the most part here, it's been pretty covered that Atheists and others do not in fact hate Christians, and just are fed up with fanatics really. Those do exist. Even Christians here have voiced they aren't happy about fanatics so as you can see, that is the real issue here.

To make the debate here neutral, as you wished, I would have posted it as something like Christians, Atheists and Others as the topic name, and then as the topic itself, I would have inquired do people of these groups disdain the other groups and give a supporting reason why. That is much more neutral. I hope you see my point and the one I feel the person above is trying to make as well, for I think that was Catch the Rain's issue. I can see you really do want to help people come together, but if you want to stand from a neutral point, you have to also use those words to speak neutrally and take no real side, but point out the flaws you see in all sides and the merits. Both are critical to success at achieving your goal.

    Peace.

Um I'm not forcing I'm commenting and you don't know anything about my science curriculum. I don't know where people get the impression that Christians are totally against science infact some Christians do use fallacies in their statements. (science test lol)

    1. No one likes to be wrong-

    I already know that

2.Do not say my science teacher doesn't know crap!-

Not right to call someone you don't know stupid even if you do think they're wrong.

3.How do you know what you believe is true, and what happens if you're wrong and you die?-

Don't say,"because I'm intelligent because for the record I heard that answer like 3 times from the same person because he had no other statements to backup his belief and again like in statement #1 no one likes to be wrong.

4.There is no truth in science-

Science changes and calculations are corrected over time planets are no longer called planets. But really does truth change? I don't think so! If truth changes than it's not truth.

    5.Remember bashing is stupid!-

Why bash the opposite belief? make a statement!

We just have to live together in Harmony, we cant argue over religions. we have to tolerate people's beliefs. That is what peace is...

    I dont hate christians!

Um...I never said you were forcing. Twas a general statement. You seem to be very defensive. Chill.

    1. Nobody likes to be wrong.
If you know that, why are you debating what I said? Because I merely highlighted your message and you thought it would need to be a fight? I agree with you that no one likes to be wrong. However, if I find out I am wrong, I am. I don't get hung up or try to deny my mistake until the cows come home because I'm super defensive. If you are wrong, you are wrong. Big whoop. If I am, I am, again, big deal.

    2. Do not say my science teacher doesn't know crap!-
WHERE did I ever say your teacher was stupid? The point is NO teacher is going to say The theory of Evolution has anything to do with the afterlife unless the teacher is a religious person skewing science for his or her own means. Does this mean I point at your teacher? Nope. It means that teachers have been known to do this. I apologize if you assumed because I quoted your post that I would put down 'your' teacher. It was not meant that way.

    3. How do you know what you believe is true, and what happens if you're wrong and you die?-
Who said I 'know' it is true or not? I do not fear death. I could care less about it and would rather live and don't think I need to -answer- a question with a deception. There is no way at this time to prove at all that there is or is not an afterlife. It is a leap of faith. Science, therefore, is not going to teach it. If you believe in a religion, you do or if you just believe there is an afterlife but no religion, you do. I choose to say I do NOT know what happens after I die, rather than believe forcibly one of a variety of methods described in religions. I don't think you read what I said last time. I explained that. I'm not the one saying I -know- or that science -knows-. I'm just saying I disbelieve in the absolutes of religion.

4.There is no truth in science-
This is your opinion. Science is observation done in a way we can comprehend it, albeit some people are never going to understand all of Einstein or Tesla etc. Science puts your vehicles on the road, lets your computer work, brings energy to your home to provide heat/ac, keeps food frozen in the summer, etc. I'm not sure how there is no truth in it if it helps make things that -work-. The observations of science, equations and formulas of how things work in nature and existence have spawned great inventions, repaired a great deal of things and made life easier, or on the flip side, destroyed things. Science is -not- a religion. It is a series of observations and examinations and logical deductions. You can -believe- or not, but these inventions and observations etc exist and are tangible.

    5.Remember bashing is stupid!-

Why bash the opposite belief? make a statement!

Read that a few times. You are the one who bashed me for merely quoting your post and evaluating it. There were -no- attacks at all in my post, but you have sat here now and finger pointed at me saying "don't say my teacher doesn't know crap!" etc. That statement alone made me laugh. Why are you bashing in the first place? To bash? I made plenty of statement in my post.

This is why I quoted you, mainly. To make a point that science would -not- make any declaration of what happens to you after you pass on from this life. It doesn't know. It was not to bash you in any way. If you took it that way, my apologies.

I have no problem with religion either. I have an issue with fanatics, as probably everyone by now who ever reads my long winded posts knows: YEP! But fanatics can be of religion, science, politics, etc. Most, however, seem to gather and horde to religion, or use it for political agendas, becoming great dictators and such. Of course, then, they don't believe in the religions, but know how to use it to get easy followers. So, I hope you get it now that I do not dislike religion. I just do not believe in the monotheistic faiths. It doesn't mean I -hate- anyone. It doesn't mean I blindly -believe- in science either. I certainly won't make it its own religion, like you seem to be doing.

One other thing before I go. You made the comment that you cannot be forced into science or religion. Well, no you cannot. However, people can try to shove whatever down your throat and you either choke on it and spit it out, or you swallow it without caring what it is and become a zombie. The third option, of course, is to look at what is before you, study it, examine, make a decision if it is healthy for you or not, and then the final choice, to take it in or cast it aside.
