What is your opinion about Atheists?

I actually am a roman catholic but im not a really dedicated. I actually think the atheists make good points. they aren't all emos, they dont force you to believe there is no God. And to be perfectly honest, they make excellent points. People demand they prove there is no god, but what proof is there that there is? I myself have no issue with them. They have the courage to ask why instead of mindlessly obeying a 2000 year old book.

What do you think about Atheists?

 

I'm an Atheist, and I say that religions are a bunch of stories to teach you morals, like fables.

I am not an athiest, but I know a lot of people who are. I have a feeling that if I wasn't raised a Christian, I'd be an athiest too. Not that I don't believe in my religion and love my religion (I don't always love it because of some of the fanatics). But I am generally apathetic and religion is kind of a lot of work to really do correctly.

But lots of my friends are athiests, and while I wish they weren't, I respect their choices and I never pressure them to go to church or anything.

 

im not athiest, but im not religious either(im what youd call an Agnostic i guess). I think that both sides make good points, but at the same time both sides can be AMAZINGLY close-minded which is never good. Religious people need to stop biblebashing everyone, and athiests need to stop trying to erase every little symbol of god from the world.

I'm an athiest, and I beleived it's because I have sucha strong will.

Religions were made to give people hope and teach them about what tod do and what not to do, but I can learn that crap and gain hope from myself, I don't need a god or anything else, that's the way I see it...

No, an agnostic is someone who believes that it's impossible to know if there is a God or not.

From the dictionary:

1. a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.
2. a person who denies or doubts the possibility of ultimate knowledge in some area of study.


I'm prolly agnostic. :/


EDIT: And all the atheists I know are so closed-minded and....jerk-ish when they talk about religion. xD And I don't think I know any overly religious people. But everyone has the right to their own beliefs and I respect that.

 

That's not entirely true. Some agnostics believe in a Higher Power, some don't. Most agnostics that I know do, otherwise they would just classify themselves as athiests. The point of agnosticism is that agnostics are skeptical of conventional religions and believe that it is impossible to prove the existence of a Higher Power through human experience or knowledge.

 

You took the words straight from my mouth, I'm an Atheist and I agree 100% with what Roxas says, I absoloutly deteste the fact We're forced to take Religious Education were I'm from, I protested to the fact, but my Mum thought it would be good for me to learn about other cultures, but all the teacher seems to do is push the fact that Christianity is the correct religion,first chance I get I am soo dropping this subject.

 

religions are there to give people hope, without hope what would many people live for.......they also teach life morals but no one needs to join a religion to get those morals which you can get from anyday in your life........they are ridiculous excuses for people to hide behind, you shouldnt worship some god and do what they say, just believe in yourself and do what you think is right.............

I know, I got loads of people in my school to sign a petition to scrap RE, but even though I had hundreds of signatures the damn school board refused, miserable old ba-*pulled away by "The man"*

I think of 'God' not as someone who exists but someone who is with me at all times, in my head. Sort of like an imaginary friend.

 

wat u have to realize is that it doesnt matter wat u beleive in wat u should be judge on is wat u do in ur life. i dont consider myself atheist because i like to beleive that not any one religion may be rite and possibly all could be rite which would lean more towards the catagory of budism but i also think that some things that religions teach are obsurd like creationism

Athiest belief is only placed upon how you were raised, and what you were taught to belief.

There is no "opinion." They have belief, we have belief, it's all to narrow for this to be intellegence.

My opinion on Atheist's? Simple, they belief they have every right to live life out the way it was mean't, to live and feel free as if every day was their last because they don't believe in Heaven nor Hell, nor reincarnation.

Liike I said, there is no "opinion," there is only truth. You should read about it.
