What is the point of life?

I agree with this, live your life good and enjoy it

 

I'm in college and think that's the meaning of my life too atm, lol. At least right now with final exams looming. Nothing wrong with that!

 

Life doesn't suck. Your circumstances, whining, and misperceptions make it "suck". Life is simply complicated which in turn also makes it hard. The closer you come to realizing it the sooner you realize that the whining and *****ing gets you no where, and the closer you come to transcending the difficulty.

 

xD i dont know if its toward's me or not but i never said that life suck's
i only expresed what i tink its the reality sure i point more at what's bad than good but i only said that many people need a reason to continue living as some said in the earlier post's.
Even me at one point believe that but the truth is I dont have to give excuses now to why should i keep living,I now look diferent on things and maybe i see the world in another point of view, MINE.
Cause im me, not the dream of someone else,nor ill follow meangless cults or religions to tell how should I live my live, (and no im not a athiets or whatever)
What i said in my previous post was that some people blame religion/goverment for how we or thw world it self it is, like i said what if there was no religion to begin whit? the same thing where are living right now would have happen anyways just i bit sonner we will still have a "dream/destiny/fate in ourselfs" cause like i said WE dont like to admit that there's someone better than us and when we do whats the first thing we said to our selfs? im gonna beat him 1 day...
And that mentallity we all have......

Like i also said,to said that we were destine to DO something here, then will you told me that the 1000's of children that die cause of illness or hunger they where destined to die? hu!? just trying to make a point......about those who said where are here for destiny or fate,

If there is ever i could tell that why we are here,since i doubt that anyone will give the right answer,(not me that's for sure) for me its this: Life its a 1 way ticket in which you decide what to make out if it,whether your choice its to be a religious type,or a criminal type or pacifist type, at that end i tink what will matters most will be how you look at yourself at the end of the day and tink about the stuff you did during the day,and to know that whanever you did you felt good about yourself and not what other people whant's you to fell just cause they cannot tink of their own.
Soo yet again i ask this: What do you believe in? or for better understanding What do YOU believe life its about? ill say whatever makes you happy,
At least that as work for me and i have never regret it till this day^^

Life is supposed to be loved? It isn't supposed to be loved or hated...
Its just to be exscaped from... To exscape to another world better
than this one....

 

So to live is to do the best we can to try and escape reality? Reality can be cruel and all but we take great pleasure in the other 50% it offers. We take things in life with a grain of salt because we know that that is how things have come to be. We can fantasize all we want or bury our lives in opiates to numb out of reality, but ultimately the little detour we take isn't real. Trying to escape just makes the effort into one vicious cycle.

 

Dude, I'm talking about the next life..... I bet you don't beleive in heaven or hell or
stuff like that.....

 

If we must escape to either then what was the purpose of being here to begin with? Debating religion in this context need not involve an afterlife especially since its place is rather contradictory here; the point of life is to die and go to heaven or hell. Either way I see no direct choice in the matter. Now living with such intentions to reach an afterlife through the act of actually living can make sense. But it too can be shallow; "I live only to act in ways that eventually lead me to be sorted into column A or B in the end". Considering faith in life isn't an issue, its living for the sake of a higher power or that faith and only that that contradicts the point of our own personal direction that we choose to take.

I think that life has no meaning.:(I think that it's pretty sad, but we exist so we can make the politicians life harder and a whole lot funnier.

Last generation people blamed "The Man" for stuff and now we blame politicians? How times change....

You do realise that "The Man" was the government which is in turn politicians, therefore the same thing =_=.

The point of life can be to muddle your way through, keeping your head down and "keep on walking/swimming". You don't ask questions, you don't make a fuss, you just live.

It can also be that you live life to question everything. You are never happy with anything, you keep pressing for more. But this stops you living in the now, always looking forward for meaning stops you having the thing you are trying to understand, a life.

Lol, heroes FTW. You can't have a life of meaning and a life of happiness, it's one or the other mate ;D

Life is only as complex as humans make it. Technically, the reason for our existence is to produce as many offsprings as possible and secure the existence of our species. And no I'm not saying there wouldn't be a lot more than that to live for, but technically that's the only logical reason for our existence. Not that our existence itself is logical, but you get my point. :x

But to skip the technicalities, there is no real point in life. However, since we live, I think we should just take the most out of it and live a happy life. Of course there will always be strife and there are a lot of negative things about life, but overcoming those things is part of living a happy life.

That's my humble opinion on the subject.

 

i have several theories

1. there may not be a point to life at all, cuz we simply die and eventually all evidence of our existence will be gone
2. to help for future generations and to have children. that's why our bodies have sexual urges to mate with people and why we feel "complete" after having children. so that makes me wonder if there is some sort of "Ultimate Goal" we are working towards in teh future by containing our species to the future. maybe eventually humans will have evolved enough to become immortal and maybe that is the goal of life? very strange theory i know but hey, it's somewhat plausible
3. to be happy
4. to follow a certain predetermined destiny

 

Well to be realistic, the point of life is to enhance and proliferate the experience of future lives, that will thus continue to enhance and proliferate lives that proceed them.

More philosophically, however, life's meaning is... a cliché idea, but also ironically something we really can't comprehend.
