what is the meaning of life?

(i tried searching to see if this was already posted but the search the forum thingy is being stupid for me DX and i really wanted to answer/put that question out there)

okay this is a lot like 'what is your purpose for existing' or whatever but different.

i have two personal opinions im debating on right now because im starting to question myself...

#1 Purpose of life is to show that you are worthy to go to heaven or be sent to hell... im a christian or almost one... im starting to doubt that one...

#2 there is no point but to screw up your chances of going heaven or hell.... or whatever you beleive in doing when you die.... unless you beleive in just sitting there rotting.. then this theory kinda isn't for you....

anyways please post your opinions, much apprietiated...

 

Well, there are probably many many opinions out there.

Though I think that It all depends on your background/history or your religion or how you were raised

The most common one I hear from people is the Heaven/Hell theory, but I'm personally more for a different, to complicated for a lazy person (A.K.A myself) to type theory.

 

The meaning of life varies from people to people because everyone has a different view on what it could be.

Christian: woship god
Athiest: nothing in particular... just get through life then rot in the ground

 

the meaning of life huh..well typically i think its to make your way through the crowds hurtting as little amount of people as possible and eventually make your way to the center of life and realize that your life is almost over so you speed through everything so you think you can do more. so my anwser is trying to become imortal by doing everything possible.

Other then that, procreation, recreation, and whatever else you want, life is what you make it.

 

In life, I thinkit's a test, to see if were innocent or were guilty. If innocent, god will take us to safety. If guilty, then to hell it is. It's like a courtroom to paradise or torture.

The purpose in life is... to live it to the fullest! Take risks! because isn't it better to regret doing something, than to regret not doing something?

The meaning of life is different to everyone, but the general thought pattern is usually the same:
Live life to the fullest, get a stable means of supporting your family, and experience as much as possible before passing on.

 

Not dying.
I'm partly joking, but just look at the animals. Their only mission seems to be to make sure they can live another day, which is why many animals are so aggressive over food and defending themselves.

 

In a logical way, the meaning of life is to reproduce. Now, don't go off making babies, but if you don't eventually have children, then you've killed off part of your own species. :X

 

to live and maybe have a little fun. basically to reproduce several times then die off.

 

The meaning of life is simply to flourish and evolve as a conscious being. In a circular sense, simply living it gives life it's meaning. You are here to be here and nothing can change the fact that you are, you might as well do something with it.

 

there's no logical reason for us to be alive really, it's more of something you have to define for yourself and it will change over time.

 

I'd say that meaning of life is to make sure you accomplish what you want to do, not what soceity says you should or what is deemed the "norm" eg Make money, get married, make more money, have kids, make more money grow old, stop making money, die.

Life is what you make it, and meaning of life is to discover what you want to do and then to do it. Many people of course don't realise this and never fufil their meaning or purpose. But that's just my view, that's why I think you should spend your life doing what you want, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else in the process.

 

Hmm as said before everyone has their own theories.
For me seeing as I am not religious I personally do not believe in heaven or hell so i just think we live to die, if there was no living there would be no death, so what would be the point of death if there was no way to reach that destined end

 

I don't think there is really any meaning to life. To ask what is the meaning of life, you'd have to be even more broad, because we're all made of the same elements. Therefore life is essentially energy. Meaning the only meaning it has is whatever meaning the universe has, something we may never know.Life specifically, however, is a constantly evolving process. Therefore we may never find any truth to what is "the meaning."

 

hm.....

karma. Judgemant after death, not universal.....singular judgement.
karma. reincarnation. The light and the dark, good and evil. This is life's meaning.
