What is a true friend?

I've been asked this many time. XD

In my opinion, a true friend is someone who is willing to help you with anything and will listen to what you have to say. Someone you aren't ashamed of being around with. Someone that you can tell your secrets to and they won't laugh at you no matter how silly or stupid the secrets are. I've gone through this so many times and I've actually had only one friend that I'm able to do all of this with and now, I hardly talk to her anymore. >>

In my opinion... a true friend is someone who jumps off a cliff to retreive the hat that fell off your head and says : 'see you on the bottom!'

no...just kidding... I myself, dont have ANY friends...because I don't know what a TRUE friend must be... I'v got a friend who I can talk to 24/7 and one that i can tell my deepest secrets... but no... no-one I can call a TRUE friend... except for death! he's cool

In my opinion a true friend is someone who is trustworthy, loyal and friendly, not someone who puts you down by calling you names or gossiping about you behind your back.

 

A true friend is someone who will listen to you when you want to talk; they know when you want them to respond and when you just want them to listen, no response needed.

A true friend is someone who will stay by your side no matter what. They support you in your decisions, and you support theirs as well. Of course, if you make the wrong decision, a true friend is also the one who is unafraid to knock some sense into you, to set you on the right path if you begin to stray.

A true friend is someone who can make you laugh without even trying, and who will make you forget your troubles when you're with them. It's someone who will help you in your time of need, and when you have a problem, they're the one you go to and trust to help you solve it. It's someone who will tell you the truth, and you don't mind even if they're criticizing you, because you value their opinion and know they want what's best for you, and you know that they value your opinion as well.

But above all true friends makes you feel wanted. Even if you feel like the whole world is against you, you'll always know that your true friends love you, and that they're happy you're here.

And hopefully, your true friendships will be strong enough to last a lifetime. But even if they don't, they will always have a place in your heart.

At least, that's my opinion :)

 

A true friend is someone who understands you and your flaws and accepts for with them. You can trust them and rely on them. They can listen to you and you can listen to them.

You may get in fights with a true friend but you can work through them. And true friends fight for their friendship: they won't decide a friendship is over due to a small thing, and the big things may take extra work, but if they do manage to work through it, it only makes the friendship stronger.

At least, I think that's a true friend. Use your best judgment.

 

People that talk to you because they want to because they like you for who you are, not because your funny. People that have the same likes, people who can keep a secret. People who you want them to be your family. People who you talk to because you know that the other person will help you and is trustworthy. People who aren't sarcastic. People who make jokes and they don't offend you.
I dont have any of these friends.
