What is a true friend?

Can someone tell me what a true friend is, please. ever since i moved and went to a new school ,ya know. i have friends right now but im having troubles figuring out if they are real friends cuz a lot of the girls at my school are all the same. well most of them. i miss my three best friends from kindergarten.

 

True friends are people you can trust and people that trust you. People you can joke around with and hang around all the time. People that make you feel like you should be family.

 

A true friend is someone who accepts you for who you are, and doesn't stop talking to you for a year just because he thinks you like him and he has a girlfriend ; ;

 

A true friend is someone who likes you for you, not what you look like or who you're friends with. They stick with you no matter what, and they have to be trustworthy. Without trust, a friendship is nothing. They also are fun to be around, and you feel like you can be yourself and completely open whenever you're with them.

 

I wish I could tell you, I'm still looking for a true friend. I only have one true friend left anyway but I can only describe it as being friends from lack of acceptance so I can't answer your question.

 

Someone you know will be there beside you no matter what.

 

Someone who holds your hair back when you vomit and still agrees to drive you home without holding it against you.

True friends are people who don't lie to you, who are your friends, because they like you for who you are, and don't care about your shortcomings.

 

A true friend is someone who wil stand up for you no matter what, but will disagree with you from time to time, because that is normal.
They are also someone that you can trust completely with anything, and wil accept you for who you are and what you believe in and won't judge you based on that.
For example, one of my best friends is a very religious person, and I'm more of an atheist. But we get along just fine, mostly because of our shared interest in anime and manga.
So just try to find similarities with your interests and hobbies, like music, TV, whatever, and you'll be able to tell. I know what it's like trying to find friends, especially in high school with all the formed groups of people that hate each other. xD

 

ok, after what you guys are saying i realized who my only true friend is.

 

Usually, there are only a handful of true friends at any given time someone might have. If we have one 'real' friend, we are lucky. Moving can be rough because it's like starting over, but there are good people out there and the real friends are those you can trust to be there on bad days or good and well, who will be there when you are stupid and mess up, or are there when you shine. Other people may be friends or acquaintances but true friends are rare and to be valued.

 

I think a true friend is someone you can open up to,trust and rely on. Someone who says they don't like your other friends and excludes them is not a true friend.

 

I don't know if I know the answer. I've never really had one eversince I've been going to this new school, and now I'm starting to become very misunderstood about my differences.

 

True friends are the people that are there for you. They support you and accept you (even if they don't agree with you), and even if there are misunderstandings, you're able to trust them.

 

hey rainbow~monkey i think you know my boyfriend, Tana_panda... lol hes a funny guy huh? lol if youre looking for what a true friend means, id say your boyfriend or girlfriend and what they do for you... your soulmate, husband, and even just a BF or GF can be the definition of a good, true friend. :D

one of my best friends was annoying and mean but now shes nice to me more

on KH-vids a lot of my friends are mean *coughs..renegade...cough knuckles the something

but i do got really nice friends, Bookworm, Roxas Sora 51,i dont know who else

My best example: A friend will bail you out of jail, but a true friend will be sitting there with you saying "Wow, we really screwed up... But it was fun!"
