The matters of God are not the matters of man. As such, whether or not God exists should not be a problem for anyone but those who seek the truth.

Either way, I believe in people. According to religious scripture, God gave humans free will, and as such, good people are good of their own right, and evil people are evil of their own right.

In effect, God's existance doesn't affect our everyday lives. =S

Oh yeah, IIRC, a certain religion was completely rewritten in order to brainwash slaves and peons that they should accept that they are poor and being taken advantage of, and should not quarrel or fight or attempt to make life better for themselves.

Anyway, I've dodged the question for too long.
Denying oneself the truth stops one's development. I'd rather not be an insane old bat at the age of 45. =S

Does a doctor tell a mother her son is going to die, and nothing can be done to save him? Yes. And for the same reason. Whoever said that a lie is sometimes better than the truth is an idiot. Lies hinder progress. Like the mother, having been told, has time to comes to term with it, in the case that a cure is not found in time. Also, I abhor the practices of certain religious figures who fraudulently abuse their position in order to make money and obtain special favors. This would put a definite stop to it, no?
My point is, either way, yes. I would. With no regrets.

... o_O Uh... You fail to realize that not all people are nice because they're afraid of hell. In fact, why would someone be afraid of hell in the first place? And lol at 4, btw.
Adulterers would get the snot beaten out of them by their spouses.
    Priests lie all the time.
I'm being offensive to jews right now.
You hate the devil, don't you?
    Without evil, good cannot exist.
Going to hell isn't a problem if you live a good life. =S

That's what I want to know. I've been thinking how God summoned death to just take away lives of firstborns only, how he hailed down fire from teh sky, how he made a pillar of clouds and fire, how he made a burning brush talk to Moses, and so on. How did Jesus become alive again? I want to know these questions and I think teh possibility of doing this is impossible but there is no proof that all of that has happened.

If that person actually had proof that God doesn't exist, then yes, I would listen. If he just had a theory, no. And since there's no real way of telling if God is real, it will remain a mystery for quite a while.

I don't think I would, necessarily. Even with proof, I'd probably still believe in God. It's like children believing in Santa Claus. Everyone knows he isn't real, yet millions still believe. :X

It's not so much that they believe in him, it's just that Santa has become a cultural icon associated with Christmas. I'm pretty sure that even if this person completely refutes any possible existence of God that people will still "pray" and use the same cultural habits that religion often shapes. The only issue would be what context they're being used in. If it could be 100% proven having some form of faith isn't wrong, but continuing to believe would be irrational. No young or fully grown adult runs downstairs praising Santa's visit, nor do they sit on his lap at the mall with the genuine belief that he is a man that is going to give them free presents.

he could "do" that because that wasn't God....those were aliens. THere never would be proof of there being no God. Why does everyone pull themselves away from God? Do they think they're cool? Do they think their a rebel? NO! Your not a rebel if u don't believe in God, your an ignorant Athiest. I really hate this whole question, not that i hate the person who asked it. God is real. If any of u wish to seek the truth, read ancient religions, and compare them to Christianity, Islam, Budhism, Judaism, and Hinduism. There are odd similarities, and odd things that are left out. I'll make a post on this all when i have a chance, i usually go on this site at school, cause i din't have internet at home(parents are anti-internet, pro-readers).But to answer the main question, anyone would be interested about evidence against the existence of God, but there never will be that much evidence. and to the quote above, like i said....THAT WAS ALIENS, not God. thats how they were able to do the whole fire and brimstone thing, and the cloud that walked with the Jews and stuff. like i said, i'll make a post on it. It'll be kick ass.

look you're free to believe whatever you want but do not call someone ignorant just because they don't share the same beliefs as you.

khsuperfan, you can belive what you want, but do NOT call otehrs ignorant or stupid just because of what you belive. Even if oyu think your right, you do not have the right to shove it down other peoples throats, hoping that they either accept it, or die in the fight against it.

And if tehre was undeniable proof against god, i would be inclined to belive he doesn't exists.

sorry, gotta learn to control myself a little on these subjects. I don't really mean ignorant, I just mean.....well a little stubborn, and i think that people think that not believing in god, not saying the pledge of alliegnce, and not reading are "cool", or "reble-ish", but they aren't. Thats just y opinion, it doesn't have to count for crap to any of you....but my opinion is my opinion.

I wouldn't. Nobody say my devotion to my faith hinders my judgment, because it doesn't. I would still believe in God.

This reminds me of The Matrix.

Is blissful ignorance better than the painful truth?

I think not, but that's just me.

If I thought the knowledge would literally be Earth-shattering, I would keep it to himself.

But if I decided that the consequence was worth it, I would speak out.

Lol, yeah I would listen, but I would still believe in him. For me, I think there's no way of proving that he does exist, and if he doesn't. That's why people always have conversations like these. You can only go on your belief, and think what you want to think.

I used to be a believing Catholic but then I had several crisis of faith which caused me to just put aside my faith that I could not accept anymore. So if someone said God didn't exist it wouldn't be too earth shattering for me. I'd listen to what the person had to say but perhaps I'm too embittered by the world and those aforementioned crisis of faith to accept that I need religion to make me happy. I have friends and family.

I don't think I could tell the world and ruin people's lives simply because they believed in something that wasn't there. Christianity and I have grown apart but to the millions of people that still are able to hold onto their faith and that is often all they have in the world...I could not shatter that belief. I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror in the morning knowing that I had ruined so many lives.

It depends on what the theory is. If the theory is that we just popped on the Earth magically, and he proved it I would keep beliebing in God. But definatley, I would listen.

Yes, I would believe it. How couldn't I?

As for revealing it to the world... No. I would write it down and commit it to an unpublished book though. I would not reveal it without good reason, but someone else could eventually find the book, so the theory would not be lost.

If they somhow proved that God didn't exsist to me, then I may belive them.

And about tellling the whole world thing, the Aztecs, Greeks and many other religions belived in things that didn't exsited and still belives knw to the world. If he/she maybe told a few more poeple who belive in it, he/she could star up a new religion that could grew over the years. He/she could also put what they found out and put it into a book and make that thier religios book to study and learn from.
