the new stars wars comes out and it makes like NO money but theyve already got all these sequals and spin offs and whatever in production and all that merchandise theyve already put so much money into the future of this looks like Disney's going out of business
That sounds doubtful. The spin offs might fail, but a direct sequel with the original actors in it ? Cash is about to rain. They could even avoid marketing the film entirely and just stick to the trailers, it would still move crowds. Yet for some reason I' ve rarely seen such insane levels of marketing. I mean come on : Spoiler
I know it's probably a joke that it'd make no money, but I'm honestly convinced The Force Awakens might be the movie that beats Avatar out of Number 1.
That I can agree with, I feel like Disney is gonna make as much as the Mayweather Vs. Pacquio just barley on the opening night. Though, the total amount they're gonna make in revenue is gonna be odd because not all movie theatres are going to play the movie as scheduled. Some theatres are playing the movie a few hours early.
I think it's probably just spoiler management but it makes me really nervous that reviews are embargoed so close to release tbh lol. Studios will sometimes do that when they lack confidence in the quality of their film.
I'm avoiding spoilers and reviews as much as possible because I want to go in without my opinions tainted. So I don't see that, I just see a studio trying it's best to have people not get opinions formed just based on... I dunno... how the prequels were.
I don't even watch Star Wars and I can already tell you that the new Star Wars is going to make more money than every other 2015 movie combined.
Even if the movie tanks horribly(doubtful), Disney still makes money off of the merchandising. And the advertising. And yes I am still bitter that they canceled TR3N because Tomorrowland did horribly at the box office. All the parents getting kids Star Wars toys for Christmas will pretty much cover the cost of the movie and the sequels.
