Like just pick a day (or a couple)

    Pick a partner

    Pick a team

And we have a few teams duke it out

And post the codes for the Vs Recorder so everyone can watch it

And have a couple judges that say "This person really did win"

Then at the end we have the two remaining partners duke it out

We need to establish how competitive this is, what tiers are allowed (if ubers are in then I'm out), and maybe even have different groups playing depending on how many people are going to play and how many of them EV train and stuff. Given who's here I''m going to assume that all of us EV train so having a second group wouldn't be necessary, but still.

I don't see why this shouldn't be a huge thing. it'd be fun

Idk how the whole partner thing would work, tbh it would work out better if it was just a solo 1v1 tournament bracket style thing.

well you'd have to plan it out in advance, and the teammates could figure out what they would fight with, depending on how the tournament would be set up. The biggest thing I'd see is having everyone with free time at the same time

This is why it would be beneficial to spread it out over time and schedule when matches are so people could plan in advance.

I wanted to do something like this like the Gym Leader Challenge. (I don't know, something about teams with a theme that I just love)
Looking forward to seeing whatever's concocted.

Looking up some regulations on sites like Smogon

    How's about:

    • No Legendary Pokemon that can only be found in one area once per game (example: Suicune and Latios are excluded, Mewtwo and Rayquaza are included)
    • No moves that increase evasion (Double Team or Minimize)
    • Only one enemy Pokemon may be affected by your own Sleep-inducing move at a time
    • Only one Pokemon of each species on a team (example: can't have two Charizards)
    • Can't use the Recycle move to regain a healing Held Item while active Pokemon also knows healing moves
Anything else can be discussed. For instance, I'd prefer to ban Mega Kangaskhan due to its powerful Ability, Stats, and lack of various counters (mainly Ghost and Fighting types, if they can survive,) and Mega Blaziken due to similar reasons.

No speed boost Blaziken and no Mega Gengar.

Rather than limiting what legendaries are used, I propose that we just not use any Ubers. It's easier to exclude that tier than to worry about whatever legendary falls under that specific category. You said you would like to ban Mega Blaziken. This would fall under Ubers which is another reason why we should avoid that tier altogether imo. luv blaziken but he's p. broken

I agree with the rest. Using Smogon's regulations and stuff is fine, though I'm not competitive enough to use them in my personal play (why I said we should establish how competitive this is just so we're on the same page, though after your post I think we have). Do we want to simplify all of this and adopt Smogon's clauses altogether? http://www.smogon.com/bw/banlist/ I have not given this an in-depth read yet, though I am somewhat familiar with it. We don't have to, but it may be a good idea to go by it or adjust it to our liking.

I didn't use the term "Uber" specifically so that the list made sense for the people who don't regular competitive Pokemon sites.

As for the clauses, I don't think we need to adapt all of Smogon's; I simply put in the ones that I agree with. It'd be best for us to discuss whatever restrictions we want on our own site and thread, as you stated.
