No, He just vanished and same goes with the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty. Yen Sid was never killed by Maleficent.

I think he just... portal'd outta there?

 

He probably had better things to do instead of hanging out in a tower all day. I highly doubt Maleficent got to him.

He fled with The three fairies.

 

I think he had some work to do - that we don't know of yet.. :3

 

Well, there are some reason's.
These are mine:

• Ran from the witch,
• Went to kill some Nobodies :P
• Went with those fairies.

Those are mine. (I'm bad at these stuff XDD)

I don't think Maleficent killed him. But since he was sort of the Information character to catch Sora up on what happened while he was asleep, he had sort of filled his purpose. Same with the three fairies for giving/explain to Sora how his clothes worked.

They just weren't called for anymore in the storyline. Though maybe we'll hear from them again in a future game?

 

I think he was still alive, just didn't talk a lot.

 

I believe that's pretty much the reasoning. When Maleficent was reforming, the three faeries headed out, probably told Yen Sid, and they all skedaddled. Because their purposes were fulfilled in KH2, they were unneeded so they weren't mentioned anymore. You can go back to the tower later and it looks fine and there's no sign Maleficent was even really there as far as you could get so I'd suppose she just took off, finding nothing of interest perhaps.

 

He stole Rabanastre's gold Gate Crystal thing and teleported to Archadia and prawned some imperial noobs.

Or he like... ran away or something

 

Maybe he went to Disney Castle and began baking some enchanted muffins, lol! No one knows where is he.

 

Repliku's propably right. There were no need of Yen Sid and the fairies in the storyline, so well, they weren't never even mentioned later. It's just like when Maleficent and Pete were left behind in the castle of WTNW, they didn't even mention them. Well, they were no use for them in the storyline, so simple as it seems. :P

But if think'd what did they do when Maleficent appereared, I think that they just fled from the place. Like most of the replies here say. :D

 

I still think he left first to take care of unknown buisness, that might be revealed in a later game should it match the plot - the three fairies just missed him. It annoyed me a great deal more to not know what happened to Maleficent and Pete in TWTNW, not even in the ending. Lame. :<

Look... Everybody needs a break once in a while right? He probaly went to some remote place for a holiday.

 

Yen Sid looks too um...strict and constrained to go on a vacation! Look at those eyes! They just speak to me in volumes as he's some guy that has never had a good vacation. Vacations to Yen Sid probably mean he gets to read in solace.
