I would have to say Role Playing (NERD!). Some of them have so much customization, you can get lost in that alone. Being able to make your own character, and the ability to choose your own outcome is awesome. FPS is an extremely close second (Call of Duty 4 FTW!).

RPGs, Action/Adventure, and the occasional platformer. I love FPS too but I suck so bad at them lol.

    Edit: And fighters~ Especially BigBangBeat.

    1) FPS (I KILL at fps...against my friends who are pro in CSS and CoD4 at least <_<)

    2) Fighting (I prefer those which you can move more freely and less dependant on a "health bar", kinda like the Super Smash style)

    3) Real-time RPG (ONLY! I hate turn-by-turn, PvP, etc. with a huge passion. Which explains why I refuse to play any Final Fantasy games until FFXIII and FFVSXIII comes out. Don get me wrong, it's not like I hate them. I love everything about FF aside from the gameplay style)

RPGs, FPSs (like Halo in other words, the fantasy kind), adventure games (like Jak and Daxter: The precursor legacy), and...that's all really. I only liked Jak X: Combat racing, because racing game+Jak and Daxter+big guns+cheap price= epic. But Jak X is the only racing game I've ever liked.

*shoots because Pokemon is unfairly bashed and Final Fantasy is dreadfully over-rated*

Let's be honest. What has Final Fantasy done in recent years to the RPG genre that is that amazing? Pokemon continues to be different by each game adding different aspects to the series (Diamond and Pearl adding the import of pokemon from the GBA games and the online pokemon trading system, the GTS). Even though the pokemon can only learn 4 attacks, the ability to catch and use a party of 6 (using 1 or 2 at a time however) each being 1 of the 493 total pokemon, having different natures, IV and EV values leads to many more party combinations than any Final Fantasy game can boast.

Not trying to bash, just pointing out the unfair judgements on both sides.

*shoots again because you shouldn't judge a game without playing it* xD

FPS(sniping everyone and counter sniping owns), RPGs, Action/Adventure...yeah that's it. I'm not much of a puzzle guy unless it involves running on walls and using awesome acrobatics(Prince of Persia reference/Beyond Good & Evil reference).
