Kingdom Hearts II What does Twilight do?

It's just as title says, what is twilight exactly? I know it's light and dark put together but what does it do? what is it's nature? What part does it play in this KH theology thing? Discuss plz.

 

Twlight is a mixture of Light and Darkness...

Riku was on the path of Twilight to the Dawn. It's a basic acceptance that you can use both your negative destructive side and your positive creative side to do things as you want to and not fall totally to Darkness but know that you will never be pure in Light either.

The Organization weren't really Twilight. The effects of Darkness, Twilight and Light mainly affect those with actual Hearts and emotions that can spurn them to do things that are destructive or creative. This is why Xemnas's power was 'nothingness' which put him outside of it to basically be the ultimate in apathy and well on its own 'plane of existence'. It seems there are basically 3 stages in existence in the game so far which is Nothingness, Darkness and Light. Twilight is a state between Dark and Light as is Dawn.

so shouldent the great powers in the KH-KH2 universe apply to the same rules???

 

I don't think Light and Dark in KH work exactly like that. It goes beyond.

Twilight is in between Light and Darkness. Like what dj rvr said. You'll need a more specific question for us to figure out what you mean.

 

Twilight is just a stage between Darkness and Light. Same as 'dawn' is. Darkness is destructive nature and is reflected also in negative emotions as the state of the worlds etc are also tied to the Heart. Light is the more positive, light hearted emotions and also creation. Twilight is being 'aware' of both Light and Darkness, as they are both awake in the person as power.

In KH, the powers of Darkness and Light can be used by beings that it is awakened in such as the Heartless use Darkness and are Darkness entities. Riku had Darkness awakened in him by Maleficent. His powers altered to Light or a state between (Twilight, perhaps) after Ansem's device was destroyed. Kairi uses the power of Light and Sora does as well and the Kingdom Key uses the power of Light. For other people, that power is not awakened in them but all people have Dark and Light within. It was an issue to Riku to travel the path of Twilight to the Dawn because he has that power awakened in him and he knew he could turn to Darkness and be consumed or go on the path of Twilight since the path of Light was closed to him. That path made him know he could work and strive to be of both light and dark. That is all Twilight is.

 

From brightest to darkest this is what the kh world revolves around:

Light - Purity, justice, good heart, etc.

Dawn - A middle path leaning towards Light. Its the one Riku is on apparently. He can use darkness, but from a weapon (made of light?) which is the keyblade.

Dusk - Maybe...once light but turning to darkness? From all the BBS news I've seen lately, and the trailer, I'd assume this is the path that Terra is following or followed since he chose darkness...somehow.

Darkness - The dictionary term of shadow is "something without light" so maybe darkness lacks purity and justice and stuff. Which is why all characters who use darkness are pretty much evil...

Twilight is an umbrella containing dusk and dawn.
Nothingness must reside between dusk and dawn since nobodies can move between the realm of light and darkness...

 

yeah i think we still cannot say for shure that we know what it is

we have really only played three games about kh

so we should wait till there is a game going more in depth about the states of "energy" in the kingdom hearts universe

 

Thats a really good question. I always thought Nothingness and Twilight were connected through the Organization. Nothingness is what it says, nothingness. Twilight is light shining through darkness. At least, thats what I thought.

 

Well, I looked over CoM cutscenes again and it seems that Twilight is using the powers of light and darkness back and forth, interchangeably(sp?)

 

i think (because riku uses it) it lets you use dark moves and the light side protects your heart from darkness.
