The look in sasuke's eye when he battles naruto and the Valley of the end. I think it's one of the most mind capturing looks i've ever seen.The sheer look of omni-scents and the lack of emotion is frightening and beautiful.
Obviously you have never seen Lain's cold brown eyes with their miniscule pupils stare directly into yours, with electrical wires reflected in them that imply that everyone is connected and that individuality will no longer exist before long.
@Catch the Rain: I suppose so, but that's one look that I'd call more mind-capturing than Sasuke's. Especially the first time I saw it. And because Lain's episodes are so sloooooooow, you find yourselves staring in them for half a minute and longer.
That fight was mostly recycled tracings from old martial arts films and Naruto isn't even that well animated, even in Shippuden in that one opening where he runs through a crowd of main characters they look like cardboard cut-outs when they should appear to actually be there instead. I have no idea where your getting "Frightening and Beautiful" from you said yourself "lack of emotion" and when an anime lacks emotion it means its characters are not being portrayed well unless they are suppose to feel a lack of emotion when clearly in that battle Sasuke should be feeling anger, hate and a murderous intent. This is what both me and my friends believe.
I despise Sasuke with a passion... *Ahem* The look that you're talking about gave me chills when I first saw it. It was like it reflected his thoughts.... *shivers*
