You're entitled to an opinion, I don't have a problem with it! Expressing them is great & all, but like, before you say things just kinda think a little about all the different aspects. For instance this next statement can't really be backed up because it can go both ways here.
People who are gay do some of the weirdest things.
Like what, have sex? WHO DOES THAT?!?!?!?!1
Ok let me tell you something. The manner in which lesbians have sex isn't all that dissimilar to a guy fingering a girl. And man on man? Men do that to women too you know. Heck women can do it to men too with help...So what makes it so different when they're both the same gender :/?

'Freak' websites, liek porn sites? There are plenty of hetero ones of those too hun, you just don't know where to look.

There's like a million threads like this on khinsider, and it's starting to annoy me. Who cares what other people choose or do? It's not like they're affecting you at all. And the smart people on this thread already took the words out of my mouth so, nuff said.

Well, the reason not only stems from disrespect, but from acting disrespectfully at what can be seen as ignorance. Given that this is in the intelligent discussion of the site....having some background with evidence that isn't able to be blantantly disproved is somewhat of a must. (See all of the other posts from about 2 or 3 pages back to get a better view on the situation if you have not already.)

Also....people who make comments like that or in opposition to any side at all should expect the same, if not more of whatever they dish out. It is a debate after all.

Back on topic(?): Your respect for others and ability to coherently type out your opinion is greatly appreciated. 8D

No. You have your science and mechanics wrong completely. They are born gay, in some very rare cases some people provoke it because they are curious about their sexuality. I getting opinion and fact mixed up. I apologize for my unnecessary behavior in my last few posts. Gays aren't freaks. I dislike them, but it isn't a fact. Thats just my opinion.
So I take it back.

 

Well, thank you for at least admitting in the end that this is your own prejudice and an opinion. Of course you are welcome to opinions even if they are ones others disagree with. I can respect that and also be glad you do recognize that it is such and apologized.

Of course people can expect to get a sort of flaming post that is insightful on such a subject that is controversial. At the same time, the rebuttals will often be as harsh when someone makes black and white statements and also makes some ideas in the head to be 'fact'. Many people in this Intelligent Discussion forum research and if something is heard and used as a debate 'fact' but is in fact an opinion, it's going to be targeted. That's how debates work. We've all faced the flames of differing thoughts, and Sofa had his/her turn.

I would hope it doesn't discourage people from being able to speak their thoughts, but at the same time, it does help people to sometimes see that what they say they can be held accountable for. We can all get smarter realizing that.

Because it's a Debate. And in debates you do rebuttals to support your point. So there's bound to be tension here.

I haven't read anything by The_King, but I did read La Sofa's attempt at an 'argument' and Zandyne, Cin, Repliku and DW's counter. Still see no fight.

 

Flaming = Senseless bashing of someone

Debate = intellegent rebutals the words of someone else that will go against them, all members here post debatingly as they have something to add to the debate so a reason for saying so.

those who cannot tell the different between debating and flaming have still so much to learn.

Gays didn't choose to be gay. They were born that way. Also just because your gay doesn't mean you are going to hell. It's not like God is going to be like "YOUR GAY I DON'T LIKE YOU!" If people are living happily let them be. It's like not letting straights marry each other. They love each other so the should be able to marry. Homosexuals love so let them marry. I am not a homosexual, I support them

I would say that La sofa's mind is narrow but i am not someone who can change that, I just hope that she doesn't think 'gays' as Crazied people who are doing something bad.

I said arguments not flaming, Joseki has been deliberatley making trouble, and was fueling THe_King's anger, I would not see that as 'Intelligent' or a 'Debate'.

I am not the one starting the fight on here, I only wish to see the hate gone.
And do not wish to fight against others here either.

 

I hope you realize the whole concept of a debate is an organized argument. You can't possibly have a debate WITHOUT an argument, unless you wish it to be one-sided.

Hate? I doubt anyone in this thread really hates another. If so, they need to take note of the phrase 'Internet: Serious Business' most of the people who are pumping the proportions in here are the ones making blatant irrelevant insults.

Yeah, I do have to say the post that Joseki made was to get at The_King because The_King has been going about other posts in the Intelligent Discussion area and saying pretty ridiculous things with no support at all to back his outlandish claims.

However, again, this is a debate area, PAW, so really people will say some of the darndest things. We're going to go back and forth on issues and a debate is done as a civilized way of communicating disagreements and arguments and voicing opinions. It is a comparison and no one has to enter a debate if they don't want to. No one should flame or attack others for their beliefs, but if someone is going to make a bald faced hypocritical or prejudiced statement, the meaning of prejudice is this:

Basically, there isn't a person alive that doesn't have at least a couple biases under their belts. It is important to deal with and notice and if others point it out that there is no logic behind a judgement, that is how debates work. Debates are to funnel out the lies, misperceptions, prejudices, etc and to get to the bare bones facts on either side of the line. To step into a debate you must automatically expect your posts will be analyzed and critiqued. Most people are respectful even if they have differing opinions. The ones who come in and say:
"IT's this way because I say so! and this is the way it is because they are all wrong!'
is going to get ridiculed because there is nothing to back it, no proof, no foundation. It is a statement for attention and so it gets some. It doesn't mean anyone is hating on anyone else.

Now, how about we get back on subject here? The_King and others that have torn us off from the actual topic is not a positive thing.
