    Well?

Personally, I love them! That is, IF I have enough time. Like the fight against Scorpion in Spider-Man 3, or Sephiroth in both the two Kingdom Hearts games :)

i love bosses that take forever

in fact i put together a code that replaces sephy in kh2 with xaldin and i set it so every time i hit him it does 1 damage.

so it took me like 3 hours

    and i did not die

but yeah i love long boss battles

I love those battles. They actually feel like boss battles. I hate the short ones that end and I'm left thinking "what? that's it? It took me longer to kill your hoards of minions!".

Long boss battles tend to be the most epic. Just like playing Crisis Core on hard mode and having your attack below 30 8D.

Long boss battles are cool only if they're epic. Now if it's the same stupid **** for a long time it starts to get boring.

Agreed. As long as there's variety involved in terms of attacks you can do, attacks the boss does or even location, I'm pretty much good. Unfortunately, it seems for a lot of games that the most epic battles (usually the last) are the shortest/easiest because the game creators want it to be more cinematic...(e.g.: kingdom hearts final battles, although I can list off the top of my head a lot more)

The way I see it, boss battles are meant to be longer, but most times, they are TOO long, and that's just annoying... It makes playing the game so much more tedious and irritating... If your gonna play a game, you want to spend more time on the story rather than playing hour long boss battles...

It depends on the situation, game and boss. If its something like a colossus from Shadow of the Colossus then I love to fight them for ages but if its something like Sebastian from Blood Omen 2 then it can be a pain and gets tiring when you get to the final part of the fight and die meaning you have to do it all over again.

    Depends on the boss battle.

If it's well designed I'll probably dig it, but if it's tedious/boring/poorly designed I'll probably hate it because it's long.

Boss Battles add more difficulty to a game instead of mashing away at some random enemies and following a storyline. =)

Fun, as long they're not frustrating and make you start over. Then I rage.

The ones in KH were always the funnest.

I remember playing Xenosaga Episode II and facing a boss named Cathedral. It turned out to be over an hour of losing my nerve. But when I eventually won from the first try, I felt both relieved and glorious. I loved it.

I love long boss battles if you have to change strategy every now and then. Like a boss that turns his strategy upside-down when his HP is half depleted, and turns to yet another tactic when he's low on health. Those battles are cool. Shin Megami Tensei and Xenosaga have got a lot of those.

Of course, this is double-edged. Imagine losing to such a boss in its last phase before it would be defeated. Not fun, I can tell you that.

i love those type of battles because you really have to pay attention to what they are doing to win, like in Persona 3's battle with Nyx Avatar, you have to remember all of the weaknesses to the arcana to win...that battle took me forever D :
