When I first saw the commercial i was in complete shock and awe. I had recently watched a bunch of 90s disney movies too. It was like magic was coming through the tv straight to me. I'd keep the tv on all day just to see the commercial again (now i have it in my ipod, thank you youtube and keepvid). I didn't even know what final fantasy or Squaresoft was, I just knew i had to have it. I got a PS2 for Christmas and later played the game. Even more amazing than i thought it would be.

Speaking of commercials, there was this disney channel thing called "Disney's Secret Lab" and a guy with a camera in first person would "sneak" into Disney's secret lab area and show the latest stuff. They had KH on it. He'd press a button and it showed the KH heart and a woman computer voice would say "Kingdom Hearts" and they showed clips and stuff. I can't find it, but I know Someone else could have seen it.

I was a little skeptical. I loved disney, I still love classic disney at least. But I rented it right about the time Disney was starting to become unpopular for my age group. I got it. and then I hooked my older brother and sister on it. They should thank me for decided to rent it even though they dont believe me when i say that.

I played it as soon as I heard of it. xD I was at a friend's place and it was the only thing he had by that time, played it, and it looked amazing.
Of course adding that I hadn't seen before any graphics that good, I was hyped about it. xD

I expected it to be an average little game without that much depth or anything like that. From the first time I started the game and saw the intro I was hooked like you wouldn't believe it.

I was expecting a good game because it was coming from Square but I was also kinda weirded out by the fact that it's a combination of Final Fantasy and Disney and I never thought that the combination would actually work because it was so strange and unexpected.

    Nothing.
Dad bought it just because he knew that I love SE games.

    I played KH2 first.
It was Awesome. I was stranged out at first because I didn't knew who Roxas or Sora was. I didn't knew the first story at all (besides the cutscenes showed in Roxas's days)

I honestly really didn't think much of Kingdom Hearts. I was like: "Eh, a Disney game." And skipped over it a lot in favor of other games at the gaming store.

It was Christmas and I was feeling massively depressed so I bought it with a: "Eh, what the hell." Kind of attitude with no real expectation. When I saw the intro, I knew I was in for a wild ride.

Since I was a kid back then when I first heard about Kingdom Hearts, I was uninterested at first, but when I saw Donald and Goofy, I was like "OMG, I SHOULD BUT THIS NOW!!!"

Don't judge me, I was a kid back then! XD

A friend tried to get me into playing KH for about 2 years. I was just too busy to start playing and I wasn't that interessted actually. She only told me, Kingdom Hearts was her favourite game, and this game will turn you "magical" and stuff. So I was first a bit ... welll.. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to get "enchanted" by a game.. you know. (I still don't know why she chose those words to introduce me to KH).
So after those 2 years, I visited a local game shop and found KH 1 for a very low price because it was second hand. On the spur of the moment I bought it because I wanted to play anything and didn't know what. I still was very suspicious if it was worth buying.
All I can say is.. I didn't thought about KH that much. I was just to annoyed by my friend.
But after playing it, I understood her soooooo much. xD KH got my favourite game ever. And I played all the games (except of DDD, but I'm about to start).
    :)

I expected a really bright cheery game with little story and a bunch of Disney characters.
Only one of these turned out to be true.

When I first saw the trailer for it I expected a game based solely on Disney, one where you could play as the Disney characters. I remember getting the game guide and looking through the pictures and thinking "Who is that?" and pointing at Sora. I suppose I learned that there was more to the game then simply Disney as it had constant characters going through it but I wasn't expecting a complex universe created around the idea of the heart, that was a nice surprise.

Um... well. I was about 6 years old when it came out. I don't think I thought much of it at first. I remember a specific trailer for it that I cannot find for the life of me, and I remember thinking it was going to be like Star Ocean(because my family was still on the Playstation at the time). I wasn't right at all.
