What could Square Enix do to make KH3 a total disaster?

Really? I thought All The Bravest was made by a completely different team than the one in Osaka who's currently working on KH3.

I trust the Osaka team to make good decisions. To be honest, they're the only dev team at Square that I trust right now.

But Heavy Rain has no battles, wasn't developed by Square, and is pretty damn good. The QTEs and how failing many of them has story related consequences is pretty obviously the entire point of the game.

The difference is that Kojima has been actively trying to make all the Metal Gear games since MGS2 fail miserably so he won't have to keep making new ones. Figure out for yourself how well that worked out. It's a classic Springtime for Hitler situation.
She confirmed that she wouldn't be doing anything new for Kingdom Hearts years ago. She quit because Disney wasn't paying her enough and she hated having to rewrite her songs in English.

I'd be okay with this. KH3 will be the end of the Xehanort Saga anyway, so it may as well be the last game in the series

I don't know if I should even dignify that with a response, clearly the vast difference between our posts is that I'm taking this far more seriously than you are.

I was just stating facts that are contrary to what you wrote. Utada Hikaru did indeed quit. All the Bravest was made by a different team than the one which is working on KH3. The Osaka team does great work and has made excellent decisions in the past. Kojima has actually been trying to kill the Metal Gear series. Heavy Rain is the best QTE based game that I've ever played. KH3 should be the last game in the series.

What about that indicates a lack of seriousness? Or are you simply failing to get across a tone of sarcasm?

The funny part is half the things you stated are in fact not facts but opinions.

Yes, but it's a fact that they're my opinions.

And besides that, stating opinions as facts is a good way to show one's confidence in them. Adding, "I believe," or, "In my opinion," to the beginning makes for a weaker statement.

The only people this would be horrible for would be the people owning various stores. Once a company has shipped something, they have the money. The money of those 60 million copies would probably be great in Square's eyes.

Of course, stores would probably never want to order any sequels.

    Oh my.

Please, please play The Walking Dead. Like, seriously. Not only is Heavy Rain pathetically predictable (just look at the God damn American box art), it's got some of the most obnoxious abuse of QTE's ever, WHAT FUCKING POINT IS THERE TO ME DRINKING MY ORANGE JUICE RIGHT?

There's a fine line between confidence and pretentious, and no matter how you word that first statement it doesn't make the actual opinions facts.

I've been playing The Walking Feels and it's not totally based on QTEs like Heavy Rain is. It's a point and click game with some QTEs at certain key points. You may as well say that Kingdom Hearts 2 is totally based around quick time events because it has reaction commands.

So is it bad that I thought Madison was the killer for most of the game?

This is what happaned the last time Kojima announced that he would no longer be making Metal Gear Solid games and would be focusing on new IP's instead
    [IMG]
A week later, Metal Gear Solid V was announced.

Also Kingdom Hearts will be made with a 606945 trillion dollar budget and 90% of it will go into Mountain Dew marketing.

I never said it was totally based on QTE's, BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE A BAD GAME. Point: Heavy Rain. Walking Dead succeeds at using QTE's because just about every QTE it has actually impacts the game and how you'll be going about situations. Heavy Rain makes you manually take a shower and put clothes on. Walking Dead succeeds at making you like the main characters. Can't say I liked any of Heavy Rain's cast, except Madison.

To me, Heavy Rain is a very intriguing interactive movie, but it's not fun at all, and I wouldn't ever want to replay it. Walking Dead on the other hand, I want to actually see what will happen with some of the things I chose differently.

Actually, kinda. It just feels way too obvious the whole time to me who the Origami Killer is. The flashbacks alone make a point that Origami Killer is at least male.

But aren't most rhythm games just giant QTEs too? I see what you're getting at and I have nothing more to argue against it, but it seems you're using the term "quick time event" to refer to anything involving timing prompted inputs correctly, which is a bit more broad than how I use it.

Weren't the flashbacks mostly toward the end, though? I haven't played it in a few months, but I'm positive there weren't any until a few chapters before everything is actually revealed.

A quick-time event to me is when the game's regular gameplay (IE: movement, combat, that sort of thing) stops for a moment in order for you to hit a button so the game can continue. Rhythm games don't suffer from over-amount of QTE's because there's nothing else for the game to do aside from that, and they actually make the gameplay enjoyable rather than keep sidetracking the main experience. A game like Heavy Rain, which has you moving around and interacting with the environment and characters, suffers not from having too many QTE's, but from having too many that don't need to be there. The epic moments? Sure. Sword-fighting with my kids, shaving my face, and getting up from a chair? No. It just felt like a cheap fill-in for actual gameplay to me.

Other offenders for having too many QTE's that I've played include Resident Evil 6, Spider-Man 3, and Halo 4.

It was a reference to games like Tomb Raider and, I believe, Dead Space 3, which shipped millions of copies and made millions of dollars, but the publishers still considered them 'failures' because they didn't meet the ridiculous expectations put upon them.

    shet's sad, yo
