Um... have you ever heard of Saiyuki?

It's a funny and serious anime about the legendary story of Journey to the West.

Fullmetal Alchemist. Definately have to recommend FMA. Other than that... I hate to say Naruto? Really, it IS good in spite of itself!

If you like anything weird, wacky, and funny, try either FLCL or Azumanga Daioh. FLCL's wicked short ( only 6 episodes!) but it's classic funny.

Full Metal Panic. Its older, but its a classic. And its funny. And you'll like the characters. Or the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Its really good.

I highly recommend Rurouni Kenshin. Though it's better as a manga series; it's still good.

...If you're over 13, I also recommend InuYasha and Chrono Crusade.
Bleach and Naruto are also great series. :3

If you're over 13, I cannot more highly recommend Fullmetal Alchemist. For starters, it's a dub that's actually good! It's unfortunately a bit clunky the first two episodes, but it quickly gets in its stride by episode 3 and doesn't let go of your excitement until you're staring at the TV screen at the end of episode 51 and wondering why it had to end. Then you whoop in happiness to discover that there's a full-length movie sequal. Then you watch that, and say 'Hey, isn't that almost the same ending as Episode 51?' But you get over it, because you liked it so much. Seriously, an anime with good English VAs and fights that dont get artificially lengthened by boring talks and other ineffectual scenes are such pluses.

Well as you may know, Adult Swim is dubbing Code Geas, so you may want to watch that on TV next (airs in the end of April).

    Detective Conan!!!

400 hundred episodes, 12 movies, GREAT MYSTERY.

    Just a quick summary:

The main character (Shinichi) is a famous high school detective living in Tokyo. One day, when he is with his childhood friend (and obvious love) at an amusement park, he meets strange people trading money. So he decides to follow them and they knock him out and force poison down his throut. But the poison wasn't really poison and turned him into a child. The bad people are from "The Organization" and now he is a kid, living with his childhood friend (Ran) and with her dad, a detective who isn't really that good. But after kid Shinichi (Conan now) is here, Mouri (the bad detective) is so much better since Conan pretends to be him...

You'll understand it better when you watch. I suck at explaining if you haven't noticed....

    and definitly watch:

    DN Angel
    Full Metal Alchemist
    Gundam Seed
    Gundam Seed Destiny
    Gundam Wing
    Fruits Basket

    I recomend:
    1-Naruto
    2-Death Note
    3-Full Metal Alchemist

They are all really good series...
