Did anyone else experience a weird downtime last night starting around 10:30 PM PT?

I as well as Hero and a friend of Jayn's got connection timeouts and then this:

    Oops.png

What's weird about it is that Jayn said it was working fine for her. So it was probably working for some and not working for some.

Sounds like a problem with your AVG browser plugin, the site has been up fine the last few days.

But like I said, it wasn't only me. Hero of Time and a friend of Jayn's also said it was down while Jayn said it was working fine for her, which, as I also said, gives me the impression that others were also affected while others weren't affected.

It started around 10:30 PM yesterday, so that would have been 1:30 AM today for you -- you were probably sleeping. c: Before it went down, I don't think I saw you online, so it's possible you missed it. I can tell you, however, that when I went to bed around 12:30 AM today, it was still down.

This is the page I was seeing before the "Oops!" page, minus the URL on that screenshot I found, of course (replace it with KH-V's).

Edit - 7:09 AM PT: I'm seeing posts between 11:01 PM and 12:36 AM PT under What's New?, which was when it was down for me and others and when I was awake still. Not sure if that really helps; I just thought I'd share the info.

I was awake and experienced this along with Amaury. It's a weird coincidence that three people got this at the same time

It's a conspiracy!! I don't remember what I was doing at the time. It could just be a localized problem. Maybe the server was boinking up, or having maintenance done. That or Misty's trolling us *shot*

No, but seriously, there are so many possible things that could have happened, there's almost no way of telling unless an in depth test was ran to analyze it.

I wasn't online at the time, but it could have just been a hiccup. If it persists that a problem, but given that not everyone experienced it, I'm more inclined to say it was an issue with your connections.

I was online, but everything was fine for me too.

Maybe it was a browser hiccup?
    I use google chrome.

Or it could just be as Misty said. ^-^

It definitely doesn't sound like a server-side problem, just try clearing your cache and cookies in your browser and disable any plugins that could be causing the issue.

Okay, so even if last night was some weird hiccup for some people, the other day the site was down for quite some time [ same thing 'not found' ], and it was down for everyone [ or at least a lot of people, from what I know ]. Could these things be related?

Also, is there any known reason for the previous downtime or just the server being derp?

If this is too spammy, feel free to delete, but I just wanted to say that that's ironic. The other day I didn't any notice downtime (unless it was when I was sleeping -- what time was it, Jayn?), but the majority of users did; this time, I noticed downtime, but the majority of users didn't. :3

I had the "not found" issue a few nights ago, so I ran tracert and it lost connection after the 15th hop. I can't remember what the IP was but if that's of any help, I can run it again next time.

Not sure if it's relevant or not, but my internet crashed for some reason when viewing the site. I was trying to edit a post to no avail. A refresh of the page gave me this screen:

    Capture.PNG

I checked my dsl box and the internet light was off so there was no connection to the internet. It could have just been a problem with my internet, which is highly likely. It just struck me as an odd coincidence that my internet crashed while interacting with one of the sites features. I just waited a few minutes and the light came back on. What gets me though is when my internet is faulty, I had some downtime the other day along with the rest of my town (yes, we all have generally the same ISP), the internet light turns red. This time it just went blank, no light. It may just be the paranoia but it feels like maybe there's a connection between the two.

I'm using Frontier DSL for reference.

Definitely sounds like it was just your ISP.

Remember all the problems we have with our modem resetting sometimes? Luckily it hasn't been as frequent lately.

Definitely your ISP, router maybe. It's not on our end, at least.

Edit: Next time you guys get downtime, try running the site through: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

That's what I did the other night, and it said it wasn't just me. :)

Okay, so I again got an error message while trying to load the site. I don't know if it was a server hiccup or what, but I wasn't the only one who had problems tonight. This time it was an error connecting to the site. I know that it wasn't affecting everyone, but it's still happening. Any possible explanations or reasons as to why it's happening to certain users?

I got the same error tonight. I always use downforeveryoneorjustme. The last time, when it seemed like almost everyone around had experienced the downtime, the site said that it was down for everyone. Tonight, I tried the site and it said it was just me [ but I also know of a couple of others who got the error ]. Hmm ...

I wonder if maybe there's something putting a strain on the server? Too much noise could create small hiccups in which localized occurrences like this could occur.
