You're going to regret that when something goes wrong and their customer service insists that your modem is just off.
In a few months, call them up saying you want to cancel your service with them. They will give you free stuff like crazy. The only time xFinity cares about their customers is when they believe they're going to lose any bit of money.
Meanwhile, I'm stuck with dropping internet because for whatever reason, Centurylink (who has a pretty good customer service) doesn't want to give me a decent modem and wireless router. Then again, it's better that I bought one anyway instead of renting.

Didn't have internet, had a computer, my mother wouldn't permit us to use dial up even though she used it, so we sneaked it when she was at work. TURNS OUT YOUR PARENTS FIND OUT YOU DID THAT
i remember aol's dial up would screw up at midnight and if you were a kid with a few hours of internet allowance, maybe like 2, it would screw up and say -85124981290581092 but you would never be kicked off so then you accidentally were up all night and didn't realize it until it was like 5am yeah it was cool
