Wartime Reverie

Rako saw Mixt coming from the corner of his eye. Rako then turned the palm of his hand towards Mixt and unleashed a form darkness at him. Now this darkness didn't harm Mixt, but what it did do is slow him down from arriving at his target. Since Mixt was in mid-air, Rako was trying to slow him down to a stop and force him to fall.

 

Mixt didn't have immediate means to increase his speed and began to fall. He hurled one sword downward so it would jut out of the crystal and he could stand on the hilt, then noting that the girl was closing the distance he moved to make a distraction and slashed at the tree trunk. Because the blade was blunt he couldn't slice through it, but the tree shook violently and started to crack since it was already mostly dead.

 

Phisoxa was caught off guard by the sight of the dead tree beginning to crack and suddenly fall over since it was so petrified it broke apart like stone and spilled out over the crystal field. Phisoxa stopped and tried to shield herself from the fragments, nearly tripping off the crystal she was on but she caught herself on the edge.

 

Rako had the hieght and the advantage. He leaped over to the top of the dead tree, and then jumped down over Phisoxa. Rako created a sword of darkness in his hand and then put his arms to his sides and his legs straight. Rako was attempting to increase his velocity and strike down on Phisoxa regained herself. In addition, Rako decided to throw down a dark magic ball behind Phisoxa to keep her from running away. The blast that came from the dark magic was minor but enough to keep Phisoxa in place. This left Phisoxa with only one choice of defending as he came down on top of her with his sword.

 

The distraction didn't work as Mixt had planned but this could work well enough. Mixt traversed the spikes under the falling tree and jumped upward to strike at Rako's back. Ideally he could hurt him and increase his force against Phisoxa at the same time, but this battle wasn't as predictable as he was used to. A realization that Mixt found somewhat thrilling. A new unknown. A new point of study. Win or lose it was a direction he could take to get stronger. But that by no means said that he was willing to lose.

 

Phisoxa spotted Rako's incoming attack and she tried with all her might to lift herself up before she ended getting killed. Phisoxa quickly lifted herself and jumped up into the air with lighting coursing between her fingers. She then threw her fist straight into Rako's face, blasting a fistful of electricity into his face.

 

Rako quickly brought down his dark sword onto Phisoxa's fist. However, the impact didn't hurt either of them but simply created a shockwave from the two powers colliding. Rako then summoned another dark sword and made a quick slash at Phisoxa.

 

A smirk crossed Mixt's face when Rako held his ground against Phisoxa. He continued his attack, aiming at the lower back as to avoid the lightning, and struck full swing. But no celebrating to soon. Both opponents proved powerful, even if the man did fall his true target for the test was the girl, and she was no pushover either.

 

One of Rako's swipes managed to hit Phisoxa and she obtained a cut on her shoulder which caused her to grunt out in pain. She was pushed back a bit by the force of the hit and almost went over the edge of one of the crystals she had been ontop of but she managed to keep balance as blood dripped from her shoulder and onto the ground. Phisoxa gathered herself before rushing back at Rako and swinging the shard at him with deadly force.

 

Rako was unprepared for Mixt's attack and fell onto the ground completely. Rako was in disbelief, these two together had proved to be an actual challenge to him. Rako considered using his trump card for a moment before realizing he didn't need it. Rako then leaped off the ground to the right side and recomposed himself. Rako then noticed the girl charging at him. Rako quickly created another spear of darkness and threw it at Phisoxa, but the spear was merely a means to an end. Rako made the spear explode when it got close to Phisoxa in a desperate attempt to halt the charge and give himself more breathing room.

 

Mixt moved back to the far side of the tree to retrieve his other sword. There was no use being too hasty, especially when the opponents will keep themselves occupied. And this man was something else. He had anticipated that rendering the foe unconscious, or at least having the wind knocked out of him, but he just stood back up and continued the fight. Was he even a student here? That magic style certainly wasn't one he had seen in any classroom.

 

Phisoxa was blown back a bit by the force given off by exploding spear and because of it she went off the side of the crystal she was on top of where she flipped through the air and landed on the ground below, narrowly missing the sharp points of the crystals jutting out from the ground. Phisoxa charged up another spell, this time she was aiming to knock one of them off their feet. She released a spell comprised of light energy that flew through the air like a cannon ball and ran right into the crystals her opponents were standing on. The force of the spell cut the crystals completely in half and made them teeter over like dominoes.

 

Rako having not yet recovered his footing was shaken up by Phisoxa's spell. He fell to the ground but quickly got back up. Rako then quickly created a sword of darkness and put himself in a defensive position. Since Rako had finally stopped moving, he began to feel all the pain he had endured during the fight. The most painful injury was the one on his back, recieved by the boy. Rako felt his back with his hand to see how bad the wound was. When he pulled back his hand he was surprised to see blood on it. Rako looked on the blood with anger and frustration. "This is unacceptable..." Rako whispered to himself. How could Rako be being hurt by two simple children! It was unheard of! Rako could not stand this! Then Rako shouted into the air "THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!" Rako let out a yell of rage. He then recomposed himself "Okay... my turn..." Rako calculated his next attack. I will go after the girl first. She is obviously the weaker of the two. Rako Thought. The boy is the more cunning of the two, so he will obviously attack me when I'm dealing with the girl. I will set up a trap for him.

Rako ran directly at the girl with only one sword of darkness in hand. As he was about to make contact with her, he used his other hand the fire a small bit of black magic into the ground next to him. Rako began slicing at her, expecting her to parry his efforts.

 

Zelos felt relived when Rako stopped his assault on him, still now there were two other people who may or may not be a problem. Still this was his perfect chance to attack. So sticking the dark sword into the ground, he held his hand out and begun charging up a fire spell.

 

Allen climbed down from the tree he was in. He couldn't care less about the test he was supposed to be taking and opted instead to admire the moon and stars. The night sky was beautiful to him and he and Jen both loved to just lie down and stare up at it. He missed Jen.
When he heard fighting off in the distance he just ignored it and continued thinking about Jen and the night sky, but at the sound of breaking crystals he became concerned and decided to check things out.
He walked quickly to the place where Rako and the others were fighting and was shocked by the scene he walked in on, though he concealed it well.
"Hey, what're you guys doing?" he said coolly, "this is supposed to be a game right? You look like you're trying to kill each other."
He looked closely at the four people around him, and was alarmed at the sight of Phisoxa's wounds.
"You're bleeding," he exclaimed, betraying his shock before regaining his calm demeanor. As he said this he ran, as calmly as a person could run, to her side and began reaching into his pockets. "Here," he said to her as he pulled out a small bottle of dark green liquid, "it's a healing elixir, it tastes like crap but it does its job well. A little of this and you should be good as new."
He removed the cap from the bottle and held it out to her.

 

Phisoxa was surprised to see a man come running out of no where and offer her assistance. She was still pretty worked up after fighting the other two and was still high on alert, keeping a lookout for anyone who would want to jump her. " Uh thank you..." Phisoxa said as blood trickled down her arm, staining her black jacket. She took the bottle and popped the cap open, taking a sip and shuddering a little when it started to take effect. She stood there for a moment before gripping the crystal shard she was holding and pointed it at him. " Now now, you either stand down and give in or I will be forced to knock you out... Which is it? I need the points soon before the exam ends..."

 

"Hey," Allen's eyes widened as she pointed the crystal shard at him, "is that anyway to treat someone who just helped you out?"
He thought for a moment.
"Alright," he began backing away as he spoke, "I'll stand down for now, I did just kinda wander in here after all, and I'm not sure what's going on, other than that you guys," he gestured at the four other people gathered in the area, "are taking this test way to seriously. I'm pretty sure they gave us wooden swords for a reason after all."

 

Regardless of Allen's words, Rako ran right up to Phisoxa while she was distracted and slashed her back with his sword of darkness, knocking her away. Rako then held a ball of dark magic at Allen's face. "Another one?" asked Rako "Where do all you pests keep coming from? Regardless, you shall all suffer the same fate... well..." Rako chuckled "Maybe not all of you." Rako then fired the dark magic at Allen.

 

The dark orb hit Allen square in the face and knocked him on his back. He gently massaged his face with one hand as he helped himself up with the other. "Well," Allen began in a mocking tone, "when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much," he then went on to explain the birds and the bees to Rako, making it as obvious as he could that he was mocking him. when he was finished with this subject Allen stated, "I'm not sure what that has to do with anything that's going on right now though." He shrugged his shoulders. "Anyway, based on what you just said I'm guessing you're probably the bad guy in this scenario." He summoned his sword to his hand. "So I'm gonna give you one chance to give up and walk away," he assumed a threatening stance, "after that all bets are off."

 

Rako smirked "How childish." Rako tossed his dark sword at Allen, but before it reached him, it gained a mind of its own and started attacking Allen as if a person was there wielding it. Rako, who was controlling the sword from afar, began focusing dark magic in his hand.
