Wartime Reverie

Nny didn't smile, didn't frown. He just had an empty expression on his face as he looked at the images that passed by him. "Just get to the point." said Nny to the voice "Your parents never told you not to play with your food, did they?"

 

Allen watched the family-his family-walking. He dispelled his sword and began walking after them. Somehow the sight had caused all of his anger to melt away. "But...but you're...not dead." he said with less and less conviction as he walked. He looked at his son. The boy looked just like he had when he was young.

 

"Regardless if you saved her or not, fate would still consume you" Just as the family reached there home a blinding light engulfed Allen and as soon as it did Allen stood in the city again but this time the city was a warzone, soldier's and consumers fought viciously. But right in front Allen stood the other Allen, painfully turning into a consumer as his family tried to help him. As soon as the transformation was complete, he killed them slowly and turned them.

"The Nny type 1 was a proto clone of a demon called Nny, but you where more powerful then the original, so the order came down to steal your power away and cast you aside like waste" The voice said as the Nny in the room screamed in pain "You truly are pathetic"

 

Nny smiled... the smile slowly grew larger and larger with each passing moment until he burst out into laughter. He sat there laughing for about a minute before finally responding to the voice "Me? Pathetic? Says the voice in the shadows... If you know so much about me then why don't you prove it by beating me in battle?!"

 

Allen watched in horror, this illusion had shown him his greatest hope in life. And then turned it into a perversion of his greatest nightmare. He raised his sword and struck the consumer version of himself. He knew the blade would pass through, but he swung anyway. His anger gone, he was beginning to feel very clear-headed. "First you try and make me feel guilty, and then when that doesn't work, you try to torture me with dark versions of my deepest hopes. I know this isn't real, and I know you're not really Raxtion, so go on, give me everything you've got, I'm not afraid of parlor tricks." He summoned light around his blade to strengthen and sharpen it.

 

"Oh I am Raxtion, and this is no illusion" Raxtion's voice said as Allen suddenly found himself trapped in the body of the other Allen turning into a consumer and forced him to feel the pain of the transformation and then slaughter his own family, and then replayed it over and over for hours until suddenly Allen awoke back in the street, his light spell still cast, Nny was on the ground unconscious.

"Why would I kill you when I can have so much fun" The voice said to Nny as he suddenly found himself strapped to the table, he could see into the observation room, another Nny watched over him with a cloaked girl whispering into his ear. Nny's while body was filled with pain as the doctors came in and started painfully removing his powers. They talked about Nny as if he wasn't a person but as a thing.

 

Nny looked at the cloaked girl and tried to focus through all the pain. The illusion was real enough, he would simply have to power through it. Nny knew that to let himself be broken in spirit would to be broken in terms of fighting. He looked at the girl, she was clearly trying to make him lose before the fight even started. Nny just had to continue to endure... no matter how hard it was... He had endured once before, he knew he could do it again...

 

During the hours Allen was forced to repeatedly kill his family he resolved that those events would never come to pass; he would find a way to defeat the consumers, he would save Jen, and he would make sure the world never became what it now was, and he would have his happy family. "If that wasn't an illusion, then why did the same thing keep happening over and over," he said as he stood, mocking the false Raxtion. He looked at Nny, then walked over and kneeled down beside him. "Nny." He began gently shaking him in an attempt to wake him. "Nny wake up. Snap out of it. It's not real. Whatever you're going through right now, it's just an illusion."

 

"Oh its real, all of it, just like everything you went threw Allen, it was all real, and yet it wasn't. Time is funny like that, just like me" Raxtion said to Allen as he circled around Allen just out of visible range.

The girl stopped whispering to the other Nny and phased threw the observation window and hovered above Nny, she pulled back her cloak and revealed that she was about fifteen, with deathly pale skin and pitch black eyes with long black hair to match it. "I have had my fun Nny" She said stroking Nny's face "That is the expression I remember" She added as she kissed him and he woke up.

Just as Nny woke up a black smoke came out of Nny's body and formed into the girl and landed in front of Allen "Hello Allen, have fun?" she asked as if what he had just gone threw was fun.

 

Allen flashed his usual cocky grin. "Absolutely, I got to face my inner demons and see my worst fears made real. You should try it some time." He stood up and stepped away from Nny, summoning his sword. Then he got serious. "Actually, while I was in there, I saw something amazing, and I made an important decision." He laughed to mock the woman. "Maybe I should thank you. Or maybe you should just go." He readied his sword in a defensive position, just in case she attacked.

 

Nny coughed away, struggling to get whatever was left of the black smoke out of him. When Nny stopped, he wiped his mouth getting rid of all the Silvia that he had spit up. He then looked at the girl. Undoubtedly she was pure concentrated evil. But how did she end up that way? Nny wondered. Regardless, the fight was about to begin soon and Nny was unsure with how he would fare against such evil.

 

"Well I am glad someone benefited, but did both of you?" she asked giving Nny a look and then back to Allen "I guess I should introduce my self, I was once known as Sophie Versia, but I go by a new name these days, I am The Black Phantom MKII" She said confidently "You can forget the MKII part when speaking about me, I usually do" She said "So are we ready for a big fight? I guess at your current levels I should go easy"

 

"You don't want to tell us a little about yourself first? You know goals, motivations, maybe a little bit of your history? Or am I the only one who respects the tradition of a villain monologue?" While he said this Allen was carefully studying her, trying to discern strengths and weaknesses. As well as putting on a bravado to fool the enemy.

 

Nny didn't say a word. He got up, drew his sword, walked over next to Allen and got ready for the inevitable fight. Nny then put his hand on Allen's shoulder "Allen, we need to work together on this one. Undoubtedly they will be working together to keep us separated. If we stick together we might last long enough to get out of this."

 

Allen nodded. He had already been expecting to fight alongside Nny in this one, and he figured their chances would be better if they worked together, so he didn't even need to think about it. "If you and me are fighting together, we can win, easy." He stared at the girl, watching her closely, doing his best to size her up and anticipate her possible moves. He wasn't about to let this be a repeat of his last fight.

 

The girl vanished but not even a second later she was behind Allen and Nny "Guys if you want to survive unscathed I suggest just giving up, I'm in a good mood so I will be slightly merciful if you just throw down your weapons" She said in a mocking tone "Honestly it would be the best thing for your health"

 

Nny turned around to face her but he kept his gaurd up "Oh? And what would lead you to be so merciful on us?" asked Nny, truly curious as to whether this was a bluff to get them to drop their weapons so she could kill them, or if it was the truth and they would be spared.

 

"I want someone to play with for a while" She said as she walked away from them and circled them "If I wanted you dead it wouldn't take much" She summoned a black orb and threw it up into the sky, moments later in the far distance there was an explosion large enough to be seen for kilometres and so large and bright people couldn't actual look at it, the whole world shook from the sheer power "And if you can still hear me that wasn't even trying"

 

Nny was shocked by the power this one girl had managed to put out. He squinted as he tried to see her through the brightness of the explosion. Nny then waited for the explosion to dissipate before responding. As soon as it was possible to see around him, Nny looked at the Phantom and simply stared it in the eye's before responding "We aren't here to be your toys. We are here to learn something... although I think it's obvious what we've learned. The consumers aren't the real threat to this world, you are!"

 

"Maybe they're related somehow." Allen surveyed the destruction she had wrought, trying to gauge the damage she had caused and to figure out how much effort that attack had taken her. "Do you have a name?"
