Wartime Reverie

"Look, kid, I healed you. Then I began to take you away from being blown up or captured by the Eclipsions when a massive pillar of... uh, something... appeared and sucked you and I in. Happy now?" asked Nny as he sighed loudly. "Keep up from now on! I'm not going to hold your little hand forever!"

 

"That black pillar was an entrance to Time while the White ones are exits, they are one way corridors threw time" Father said to the group "Its really simple to understand"

 

Nny's response irritated Allen. He turned to Nny and said harshly, "I'm not asking you to hold my hand. I'm just asking to know what's going on. You'd probably do the same in my position." He turned to the old man. "Portals through time? So we time traveled? Then seventy-three years is how far we went?" He was almost talking more to himself now than to the others, but he spoke out loud so father could correct him if he was wrong. "Did we go forward or back?"

 

Phisoxa's eyes shot open slowly and she looked up at Traken. " Dr. Traken is that you? Or am I dead?" Phisoxa said as she tried to move but her body felt extremely sore.

 

"Yes, it is me. And no, surprisingly, neither of us are dead!" said Dr. Traken pulling her up onto her feet. "How are you dear? Are you hurt?"

"Forward." Nny said simply, hoping they could skip recapping on what they had JUST learned to get onto more important details.

 

"So I guess you are looking for a way back?" Father asked the group "Not an easy task, but it is dangerous to stay here as well, who knows what will come after you" he said it calmly and coldly to the group, he then turned around and point at the horizon and pointed, "In that direction is a place you may be able to hide for a while"

 

"And what of you?" asked Nny of the man, curious as to what he would be doing "Won't you too need shelter or a place to hide from the consumers?" Nny had already put enough pieces of the puzzle together to gather that the consumers were the source of the horrible future. But why if they all had weapons like Claire's?

 

" I'm pretty beat up, but at least I still have feeling in my arms and legs..." phisoxa said, gritting her teeth when he helped her up. The pain was great but she tried not to scream out.'

" Something dangerous? I dont' want to stay here and find out what it is..." Shero said with a look of fear

 

Allen thought to himself. "Seventy two years in the future. I wonder what happened here. This place almost looks like Raxtion's world did when I went there. Whatever happened I really hope it isn't my fault. I wonder if Jen missed me. I hope nothing happened to her." He started, that thought worried him. He looked at father, almost desperately. "Do you know anything about a girl named Jen Morotoa? She'd be about eighty-nine now, used to live in a place a few dozen miles from here. Looked like this when she was younger." Allen pulled the picture of him and Jen out of his pocket and showed it to the old man.

 

"Its not the consumers I am worried about" Father said to Nny before facing Allen "I hate to tell ya kid but even if she survived the time you just left she would be dead now anyway-" He stopped when he saw the picture "I see, she died seventy three years ago during the great war." Father started walking in the direction he had indicated before and didn't wait for the others to follow.

 

"Dead now anyway? Does he mean that everyone on the planet died? Then how did he survive?" Allen had more important tings to worry about at he moment though. He put the picture back and ran to catch up with the man. "How did she die?" He didn't even know why he was asking this, it shouldn't have made any real difference to him. Some part of him compelled him to ask though.

 

"After the destruction of the academy a certain shadowy organization allied itself with Eclipscion. In an effort to hide what happened at the academy the organization was tasked with hunting down and killing all survivors of the attack, and anyone that knew them well, like family, friends and loved ones" The man said "It was done in a matter of days, save for a very small handful of people"

 

Something more dangerous than the consumers? Nny had to find out what else there could possibly be. He followed behind Father quietly. Hoping whatever was out there would reveal itself for him to see and know. Then Nny heard Father talk about this 'mysterious' organization. Who would they even be?

Dr. Traken held onto her, worried. "Its too bad I don't know any healing magic. Come, let us get you to someone who will be able to heal you." Dr. Traken put her arm around his shoulder and began walking with her. The doctor had no idea where to go, but he couldn't just sit there and wait for someone to come along.

 

Allen nearly lost it. "I want all the details on this organization, on their victims, their alliance with Eclipscion, everything." He had to struggle to keep himself under control. He had nearly raised his sword to the old man's throat and demanded details. Then he thought of another way to get information, and hoped it worked. "LEGION," he shouted in his mind. "I WANT EVERY FILE YOU HAVE RELATING TO THIS!"

 

" Where are the others ,did they survive?" Phisoxa asked as blood dripped out of the corner of her mouth and over her forehead. She coughed, choking on the blood that was dripping out of her mouth.

 

"Yes" Robert said appearing behind Phisoxa and Traken "Though you won't find them anytime soon, if you wait maybe seventy three years you may find them" Robert added "But that's not what is important, you need a haven for the time being"

The man stopped briefly at Allen's out burst but continued to walk "We must hurry before she finds us, the Station is only a couple of hours away, what's left of it anyway"

 

There was no response, only silence.

Dr. Traken looked at Robert and said "Young man, this girl needs healing, would you know how to heal her? And yes, shelter would be nice."

She? Nny wondered what could be so terrible, let alone how it being a woman could be a bad thing. Nny examined his surroundings as he walked. Everything was so different. So changed...

 

"Ah my healing powers isn't for normal people, but I have a house that survived this attack that has a bed and food, and one table and chair but that's not important, she can rest there while we perform some first aid" Robert said leading the way from the ruins into the city.

 

Allen decided he would pump the man for all the information he could about Jen's death once they got there. Until then he would let it go. He still cared far more about Jen then he did about any of the situation around them, but that didn't stop him from being curious, and a few hours was a long time to walk in silence. "Station?"

 

Phisoxa coughed again as her condition got even worse and at this point she could hardly respond now. She began to say things in slipping consciousness that was hard to understand.

" Is it possible to go back and save someone before they are killed..?" Shero thought as she walked along.
