Wartime Reverie

"Hmmm, trust the guy who caused the deaths of hundreds of innocent people; no thanks." She blinked her eyes causing a flash of light. She used the brief distraction to separate Phisoxa from the man. "My name is Reese Amasuincula." she said to Phisoxa.

As Vendeval was walking away, he yelled back to shero and Dante, "You can come with me if you want. It's best not to be by yourselves right now.

 

"Well then give me my power back for now at least. If you're really as righteous as you're acting, then you'll want me at my full power to protect the city." Allen was growing seriously concerned with the voice in his head. He turned to Claire. "Can't run fast or else what?"

 

"Or we will be noticed" Claire said as she slowed down. They arrived at the entrance, the carnage and destruction still fresh. "Stop Allen" Claire said "Show your self demon, I know you are there!" Claire shouted.

"At least your intelligent" the cloaked man said to Reese as he walked forward "Blinding me does little when I can sense you two, hold on a second" he said as he stopped "Rako I know your frustrated" he said to no one "I can't help that its not affecting him. Fine let loose, like I could even stop you. Yes I don't care if you torture him, feel free. Just leave majority of the city intact" the man said as if he was talking to someone.

Rako lied down, pretending to be one of the dead bodies at the scene. Thankfully Allen and Claire stood right next to him... Rako quickly got up, grabbed Allen's wrist, formed a sword of darkness, and stabbed the boy directly in the stomach with no time to react. The sword then disappeared leaving nothing to hold Allen's insides in place. Rako then jumped back away from Claire, knowing she might attack him while he wasn't ready. "I am afriad I can not let you go past this point..." said Rako calmly with a smile on his face.

 

Following up with his strategy, Rouge soon made it to the palace, where the sight that he saw didn't inspire much hope. Though he wasn't the only one would shown up, someone else had arrived and was looking for someone named Allen. "Who's this Allen person suppose to be?" He asked to no one in particular.

 

Just as Rako jumped back Claire swung at him but missed "So care to explain what's going on?" Claire asked but then looked at Allen "But I doubt you will just tell me" she said coldly as her silver weapon started to form around her body like armour and two swords. She charged at Rako and swung at him with speed that was beyond a normal human.

 

" My name is Phisoxa Mindell... " Phisoxa said as she stood up to her full height and then backed away slightly, standing behind the newcomers and trying to put distance between herself and the cloaked man. " Are you the one who slaughtered all these people?' Phisoxa questioned him.

 

Rako could tell this would be an exciting challenge. "Oh my!" said Rako as he dodged her attacks. "I can tell you are not from around here! Your power is extraordinary! You remind me of someone. But who?" Rako dwelled on the thought while he jumped back away from Claire and then formed two swords of darkness in each hand to combat her two swords. Rako then summoned darkness which circled around him. He then charged at Claire attacking her with his two swords.

 

Allen clutched at his gut, doing his best to keep everything from falling out. He fell to his knees. "That's a dirty trick." He looked up at Rako as he said this. His mind was suddenly assaulted with images of the night Mixt had killed the boy. The darkness Rako had placed inside him was reacting to his proximity to Rako. He was assailed with images of himself fighting with the creature standing in front of him, and of Rako standing over the dead body of the student Mixt had killed. These images competed with the memories he had from that night. His mind was also assaulted by other thoughts, most of which he could not clearly make out. As he kneeled in pain and confusion a single word escaped his lips, "Rako." Then another word, spoken more softly, "Jen."

 

"That's right" the man said, his attention going back to Phisoxa and Reese "The king was my target but all these people were important to your government as well"

Claire didn't look back at Allen, she ignored him as she met Rako's charge head on, their blades constantly connecting as they were brought to a standstill "Why are you doing this, who is your master?" Claire asked as she tried to breakthrough and hit Rako.

 

Rako ignored her, quickly realizing her foolish attempts to get information. Rako then used the darkness around him to blow her into the air. While the darkness itself didn't hurt Claire, it still threw her at least four feet above Rako. Rako then began slashing at her, not allowing her to fall back down.

 

Claire saw it coming, she tried to block it but one of Rako's strikes took off her left arm. She managed to get away from him before she landed by kicking one of his blade and then hit the ground but as soon as she landed she stood back up, clutching her arm. "I am not done" Claire said as she let go of her left arm and readied to fight one handed. She used her silver weapon to stop the bleeding.

 

Instead of asking what was going on or something like that, he ran over to Allen and offered to help him. He could ask his questions later.

 

Allen looked up at Drei, and accepted his offer for help. "Be quick about it though. Soon Claire's going to need more help than I do." He recognized Drei from the night he had fought Rako, or Mixt, he wasn't entirely sure now. Either way he remembered he and Drei had been on the same side in that fight and figured right now they could use all the help they could get.

 

"I never thought you the type to give up." Rako said simply. Rako then lowered his weapons as he looked at the poor creature. He smiled "Now I know who you remind me of. You remind me of Torxber... You know, I think he even talked about you a couple of times. You would be Clara, wouldn't you? Too bad all he ever said was that you were a joke and a waste of time." Rako then threw his dark sword at Claire, but before it hit her, it stopped and began attacking her as if a person was holding it.

 

"Wrong, I'm Claire" she said as she blocked the sword attacks with her one arm, her voice filled with pain. "And I haven't quit yet" she added as her eyes turned yellow for a few seconds, her arm regenerating quickly and then her eyes returned to normal, for the few seconds her eyes were yellow her presence was the same as a consumer. She summoned her second sword back and hit Rako's one away.

 

Rako was in shock for a few moments not saying a word. He summoned another two swords of darkness but couldn't understand what he had just seen. She utilized a consumers power? How was this possible? Did all the abilities of a consumer stick with her? Rako's mind was riddled with questions. He simply waited for her to attack, dropping some darkness into the ground just in case she got tougher than what Rako could handle.

 

Claire de-summoned her swords and armour and looked at her new left hand "I thought it was a dream" she said to her self quietly as she breathed in deeply, she closed her eyes and focused as her hands started to change form into the same shape as the consumer claws, when they finished changing she opened her eyes again, they were still normal human eyes except they were yellow again, they didn't revert. She ran straight at Rako head on, the ground around Rako's feet started to freeze as Ice started to form and bind Rako in place.

 

Drei led Allen away from Rako. There wasn't many place for him to go with the hospital gone. After he placed him down, he headed back towards the castle, this time with his personal weapon in hand. Things would go by differently this time, that was for sure.

 

The darkness Rako had poured onto the ground turned into dark vines that broke the ice around him. He had the same idea as Claire, intending to use the vines to grab her when she got close. However, that plan was rendered useless due to her move of trapping him with ice. Rako did a few back flips, attempting to get away from her. He then combined his two dark swords into a single staff. Rako then raised his staff in the air and fire wrapped around the staff, making it even more dangerous for Claire. Rako then charged at the approaching Claire and began attacking her with his staff.
