Wartime Reverie

"No, not that we were able to find anyway, and we spent thirty years fighting them" Claire said as she looked around, this time it wasn't looking for an escape, but amazement "There are so many people" She said.

 

Nny was a little disturbed by this thought... no traces of them and no way to analyze them unless he could get a hold of one. But Nny had no idea where the consumers even came from! Much less how to acquire one for study purposes. Nny then heard her talk again "Well, this is a city... people live here. Wait, thirty years?! Where do you come from anyway?" asked Nny, becoming more curious of the girl.

 

Claire looked at Nny "The Janina Alliance of course, at least I did before they came" Claire said as she walked threw the streets "I haven't seen this many people enjoying life like this since the start of the war"

 

Nny looked at the girl strangly. Nny had decided that she was interesting enough to want to know her more. "My name is Nny, what is yours?" He said as he extended his hand out to her for her to shake it.

Dr. Traken had finally made it home when he began tooling away at his Elixir of Life again. In his kitchen, he carefully and slowly put the ingrediants together in a bowl, crushed them up and smothed them together. He then poured them all into a flask with water in it. Stirred up the ingrediants and smiled. It was now time to test his expiriment. Dr. Traken picked up the flask, put it up to his mouth and started to tilt it over when he realized he had forgotten one key ingrediant! Dr. Traken felt some of the mixture touch his lips, but thankfully he hadn't ingested it yet. Dr. Traken put down the flask and then walked into his private lab full of ingrediants. There he pulled a flower with black petals out of the refrigerated section and brought it back to the kitchen. He then used a syringe to suck some of the nectar from the black petaled flower and then injected it into the mixture. Dr. Traken then lifted up the flask and drank from it.

Dr. Traken scarfed the mixture into his mouth, down his throat, and into his stomach. For a few moments, Dr. Traken tried to see what would happen. He sat down in a chair and waited. After a good ten minutes of nothing happening, Dr. Traken deemed the expiriment a failure. Dr. Traken got up from his chair and knocked everything down from his table, breaking and damaging many objects that he had adored for years. Dr. Traken then went into his private lab, to destroy and break as many things as he could while he rage ensued over the failed expiriment...

 

The giant doors of the main entrance swung open with a loud metallic ring, their mirror like appearance reflecting the gray of the clouds above. Phisoxa came walking in followed by Shero and the knight Nathaniel who had saved them from the mess involving palace patrol earlier. Upon entering Shero and Phisoxa's eyes fell upon the magnificent interior of the castle. The castle wasn't as old world as they had come to expect, the floors were polished white and the walls were a dark bluish gray color with massive paintings and other wall hangings that seemed to be the only objects in the room that looked to be from the era of castles. On the walls back iron pyres held crystal orbs in their prongs that had light glowing within them. The ceiling bore a moving painting that showed a morning sky with a golden sun shining over the misty clouds. " This is magnificent .." Shero said as she marveled at the spectacle before her with Phisoxa who did just the same but wasn't as vocal about it as Shero was. "Indeed, it may look modern but it still has some of it's old glamour." Nathaniel said as a dark haired man came forward wearing glasses and holding a clipboard in his palms. " Welcome back Sir Volker, the King wishes to discuss security plans with you... he's currently in the glass room and askes that you head there immediately..." The man said as he straightened his black sophisticated looking glasses that had silver engraved into them. " I will go now... but Dante I ask a favor of you. Can you see what these girls want and can you also get the pale haired one into some new clothes, her clothing is blood stained." Nathaniel whispered to the man as Phisoxa and Shero watched with confused looks. " No problem...." Dante said with a smirk as Nathaniel smiled and walked off to go attend to his duty. Dante stepped forward and held his hand out to them." Greetings, I'm Dante Fable.. may I ask what is it that you seek from your visit to this castle?" The man said, looking down upon them with midnight blue eyes that had silver flecks within them.
For some reason his eyes had the stern stare of someone much older yet he looked to be only in his late twenties. " I've come to speak with the knight Rould Naminas, could you please take me to see him? It's very urgent ..." Phisoxa said as Dante sighed and rested the hand holding the clipboard at his side. " I will take you to him, but before you can see him we have to get you a new change of clothes. So... how about your friend? Whats her purpose here?" Dante asked with a emotionless stare. " She's just here to accompany me... she has no real reason to want to visit the castle." Phisoxa said as Shero nodded along with Phisoxa's statement." Very well then... but your friend is going to have to wait with me outside. Lord Naminas isn't seeing visitors today but since you say it's urgent then I might as well try and get only you inside. Now come along" The man said as he turned away and started to walk down a hallway to the left. Phisoxa and Shero looked at each other before they followed after the strange man. Dante lead them through a maze of hallways stopping halfway to let Phisoxa get dressed in a man's grey button up shirt and a long black skirt so she didn't have to wear a bloody uniform anymore.

Once finished Dante lead them to their final destination which sat behind a pair of silver doors. " Alright this is it... go inside but make sure you mind yourself pale one. . ." Dante said as Phisoxa pouted slightly. "Hey my name is not pale one, it's Phisoxa... I thought I told you beforehand.." Phisoxa said as Dante rolled his eyes and pushed Phisoxa through the doors, stopping a bit to clear his throat. " Sir Naminas, a woman by the name of Phisoxa requests your presence. I know you requested that there will be no visitors in to see you today but this is urgent my lord.." Dante said before leaving Phisoxa alone in the room and heading out into the hallway with Shero. " It might take a while so I suggest we do something else during it. Its almost my lunch break but I'm not hungry so I think I will go out into town and take a nice stroll,feel free to visit the cafeteria if you are hungry though..." Dante said as he began to walk off. " Wait Mr. Dante Sir !! I don't know this castle well enough... I might get lost. Can I come with you till your break ends? Phisoxa will probably be finished by then..." Shero shouted as she ran after the man, desperate to catch up with him. She really didn't want to be left alone in this castle, especially after what had taken place near the main gates earlier. " Fine come along if you wish..." Dante said with a annoyed sigh as he took door that opened up into a secret chamber. Shero was hesitant to follow but she continued anyways, closely following the man in the dim lit chamber. It took several moments before the entrance opened up into the palace gardens which were amazingly beautiful but Dante did not stop once to admire all the exotic types of flowers or to see if Shero was even keeping up . Dante took a small path which lead to the front gates of the palace where Dante finally stopped and waited for Shero to catch up. " You walk fast for a adviser Mr. Dante..." Shero said, breathing heavily since it was a workout trying to keep up with the quick footed man. " I was? I thought I was walking normal speed..." Dante said looking unamused as the gates opened up and Dante walked through. Shero made a dash to stay in close vicinity of the man so that the patrolmen wouldn't try to seek revenge for what had happened earlier. Shero walked behind Dante, using him as a human shield when some of the patrolmen came into view. The patrolmen went silent when they saw Shero, the patrolman who now bore a black eye gave Shero an even nastier look. " That's strange... they are usually very chatty around lunch time.." Dante said as Shero strained a gulp in her throat and chuckled nervously."Strange isn't it?" Shero said as the the two got far enough from the gates that now it was safe for Shero to come out from behind Dante. " Can you not use me as a walking shield please? It's very unpleasant to have someone clinging to my back like a baby monkey."Dante said as Shero developed a embarrassed look on her face as she distanced herself some more from Dante." Oh... sorry about that.. It's just those guards are scary..." Shero said nervously.

Reese looked around at her surroundings. "Nice place." She said. It was pretty much all she would put in a house. "Now what are we going to do?"

(I'll get more typing done when I put in my other character. I have yet to see a place I wish to put him in.)

 

"Claire" she replied to Nny not even looking in his direction let alone shaking his hand "Do you know someone named Robert?"

"I don't know, what do you want to do?" he asked Reese as he sat down at his table.

 

"Indeed I do." admitted Nny quickly. Showing he had nothing to hide. "We meet briefly and then he saved my life. It was from an attack of Consumers that showed up out of no where and... well, consumed our school, I guess."

 

"How many consumers?" Claire asked looking at Nny "If it was less then a few hundred he would have been fine"

 

Reese Hesitated. "I... Guess the first thing I want to do is figure out how to get my memory back. Then I could do whatever I am here for." She stared out the window. "I mean, I couldn't have come here for nothing right?" She herself still wondered about that, but she sincerely hoped that someone had not taken her from things she cared about for no good reason.

 

Nny tried to think "Well, I never fought more than twenty at a time... And he was next to me... It was probably about a hundred or two hundred. I can't say for sure. But he made it out fine. I saw him afterwords, and followed him to this city until we went our seperate ways and then you showed up..."

 

Claire looked straightforward "You mean he is hiding from me?" she said calmly has her eyes narrowed "Any idea where he is now?"

"I don't know, there is a strong possibility you were, are, running away from something, I mean the best way to hide in this world is not being able have your original memories" Robert said "But as I said it could have just been an accident from the dimensional jump, there is no way to be sure until you get your memories back"

 

After strolling through town a bit Dante came across east middle class district which was a area of high rise apartments and commercial buildings of all sorts. The streets were alive with the bustle of citizens moving to and fro from their jobs and errands. " Stay close or else you are going to get lost in these crowds..." Dante said with a stern look as he walked down a street that ran through many of the medical establishments. Shero kept close, trying to keep up with the dark haired man.

 

"I told you about the last time I saw him. I haven't seen him since." Said Nny firmly to the girl "Why is he so important to you anyways? Is he a family member or something?"

 

"He is my partner, its difficult to explain" Claire said "So he is hiding from me" she said as she thought of were he could be.

 

"You think I'm hiding from myself?" Reese pondered it. She thought it would not make sense, because if she were to hide from someone and to do so she erased her memories, then if the person DID find her, she would most likely be extremely vulnerable. Unless the person was looking for information, then without memories she wouldn't be of any use. But they would probably try to do something about it. She decided It was important to be careful, no matter what her situation.

 

"Keep in mind this is all conjecture, for all we know you hit your head and simple have no memory, its a real possibility. In this situation you will have to keep an open mind, even the most mundane reasons can be the cause of your memory loss, maybe you simple didn't want to remember anymore" Robert said calmly as he continued to sit down.

 

"I see..." She went back to staring out the window. As she did she saw a figure leap by. "What was that?" She thought. It had surprised her. She realized nothing evil was in it, and that it hadn't seemed to particularly care where it was. "I guess it's not important for now."

 

After trying to contact Legion several more times without success Allen walked out of the hospital. He saw Nny and Claire talking and walked up to them. He didn't particularly like Nny, but it would give him some company. Plus he was in a part of the city he'd never been in before and didn't know his way around, or where to go from there. Of course he did his best to not let them know any of this. He said to Claire, "hey. So, you ran off before I could ask; exactly what are those consumer-killing weapons you mentioned? How do they work? And where can I get some of them?"

 

“So what do you want to do?” Robert asked Reese, “If you want you can rest here or you can come with me to the palace” Robert said as he stood up “Things are about to get chaotic, again”

“Well you just said what they are, weapons that easily kill consumers, they take the effort out of completely destroying the bodies. As for how they work you are better off asking a scientist, and to answer your final question obviously you would get them from the production corps” Claire said, all these obvious questions were starting to annoy her, how could these people be so oblivious to a thirty year long war. “Tell me is it natural for armed bands of soldiers to gather around the city?” Claire asked as she noticed the whole area was heavily guarded.
