Wartime Reverie

"What are you thinking about? It's okay, you can tell me." asked Dr. Traken. He was trying to gauge the boy's thoughts, for if this boy had specific thoughts, then the others would probably be thinking the same things.

 

"Just about the monsters that attack the academy and a bit about their origin." He said, though knew little on the subject about them.

 

"Between the three of them there was a lot of drama." She said. "I suppose I understand what you mean." As he walked away, she turned to go after him. "Where are we going?" she asked. Somehow, she doubted he would give her a straight answer, but she had to try; he might give her more information than she had specifically asked for.

 

"She's awake already, and easily startled, she broke one nurse's ribs, another's arm and almost snapped mine before we finally restrained her" The doctor said looking back at the room "You can go see her if you wish" The doctor said.

"I have a house here in the city I own for whenever I come to the city" Robert said as he led the way out of the slums.

 

Reese was surprised by the simple straight-forward answer. "I guess we can talk more about this situation there, huh?" Her thoughts wandered back to the boy from her memories and his skeleton hands. "It's a little scary, but I think he was my friend. If I can find him, will he be able to answer my questions?"

 

Nny didn't even respond to the doctor, he simply walked past him into the room where Claire was and went over to her bedside. "Feeling better?" he questioned.

 

Allen walked in after Nny. Hearing his question he just waited quietly.

 

Claire had been working on breaking free of her wrist restraints when the two buys entered, she quickly hid the fact as they approached "Are you the two who brought me here?" She asked quickly.

 

"Yeah, you passed out in the slums and we brought you here. I'm Allen." Allen almost extended his hand for her to shake.Instead he gestured at Nny, and said, "And this is Nny. How are you feeling?"

 

"I feel like a prisoner" she said as she looked around hastily, making sure she knew where everyone in the room was, she was almost ready to get out.

 

Nny held his sword up to her throat. "I don't think so..." he said. He had figured she was breaking out of her cuffs simply because he could tell she was smarter than most people. "You answer my questions first... What were those things? Tell me and I'll let you go."

 

"Get that thing away from her." Allen stood ready to summon his own sword if he needed it. He was appalled to see Nny threaten the girl. As far as he knew she was completely helpless due to the restraints. And the darkness Rako had placed inside him was starting to have a slight affect.

 

"Watch it" Claire said, the moment Nny had moved to threaten her she had moved her free hand and summoned her blade and pointed it at Nny's stomach, the tip touching his shirt "You try and threaten me and I will gut you quicker then you can slice my throat, which I will just heal from anyway, I doubt you are in a hurry to have your stomach all over the floor"

Robert lead Reese to a small modest house, the inside was almost bare, the walls has no wall paper, there was no furniture just a simple bed upstairs, a fridge and a small table with a chair.

 

Nny continued to keep his sword at her throat "Lady, I have been looking for an answer to my question all d*mn day... and I am sick and tired of not finding it... Either you tell me or we are both going to have our guts on the floor. Cause as far as I can tell, your a person just like me. Now what are the consumers?"

 

"Monsters that kill you and turn you into one of them, there is your answer" She said as she freed her other hand, in a instant she sliced Nny's arm with a new summoned blade and jumped off the bed, it was a very shallow cut but it got Nny's blade away as she now stood on the opposite side bed from the other two she prepared for a fight.

 

Nny put his blade to his side, satisfied with the answer and completely disregarding the cut completely. "Finally! A f***ing answer!" He then decided that he wanted to investigate the field where the academy used to be for more clues. He began to leave before he stopped at the door and looked back at Claire. He held the door open for her. "Are you escaping or what?"

 

"Can you tell us how to kill the consumers?" Allen had merely stood by and watched as Nny and Claire threatened each other. But with the urgency of Nny's blade at Claire't throat now gone, the darkness within him had subsided and he was back to his normal self.

 

"Obviously you need a Silver Morph Weapon or a Consumer Alteration Repulsion Cannon Machine Gun or s we call it Consumer ARC Machine Gun" Claire standing normally as her military uniform reappeared on her, she gave Nny a death glare before walking past him, no one tried to stop her as she left, they didn't realize she was the same person who had been restrained.

 

Allen didn't think that was obvious at all, he didn't even know what those things were. He was going to ask her but she walked away before he got the chance. He decided to ask Legion. "Legion, where can I get a silver morph weapon, or a consumer--uhh whatever the machine gun was she was talking about? And while you're at it, what are both of those things?"

 

Nny continued walking until he was out of the hospital. Once out he looked to Claire again. "Do the consumers leave any trace of themselves once they've been destroyed?"

Legion didn't reply... There was only silence.
