Wartime Reverie

Robert inspected the rifle closer "Its an older model, but still shouldn't exist for another thirty years" Robert said handle the Rifle with familiarity "And that armour is the same, if this war kicks off it will be one sided with this tech. They probably have no idea what they are now capable of" Robert said as he stood up, carrying the rifle in both hands "I say its time to leave" he said calmly as he walked away.

 

Nny simply didn't say anything. Not only was Nny not going anywhere, but this guy didn't seem to be making any sense. Nny chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. He guessed he would be staying there watching over the body's until someone official came along. Or if the school was going to be levelled, which Nny now found to sound rather silly.

 

When Shero went on a ahead to her dorm room Phisoxa stayed in the hallway where she stood in front of a window and looked outside onto the moonlit lawn below. She seemed to be lost in thought over all of the crazy things that had been happening lately, it was a omen to her that all of these events would lead up to something even worse.
" This world is certainly going to hell in a hand basket as of late..." Phisoxa said with a deep sigh as she turned to walk down the end of the hallway but she stopped when she felt someone was stalking her in the darkness. The cold glare of a sword reflecting the moonlight was all Phisoxa saw before she was knocked off her feet and she fell onto the ground clutching her arm which had a cut on it now. A man came into view, his yellow eyes giving off a soft glow and a wide Cheshire grin on his face that showed off his sharp teeth. "Hello little sister, it's been seven long years since we've last seen eachother... " Noire said with a grin as Phisoxa's eyes widened and she backed away while holding her arm. " Stay away you damned murderer !!!" Phisoxa shouted as Noire chuckled, his bloodstained sword still in his hand as he stepped towards her. " I would sit here and reminisce about the old days but lets just skip to the chase..." Noire said as he reached down and picked Phisoxa up by the collar of her shirt. " What the hell do you want with me?" Phisoxa cried out as Noire held his blade up to her neck. " Simple, tell me the location of the journal...." Noire said as confused look crossed Phisoxa's face. " Journal? What journal?" Phisoxa said as a annoyed look showed up on Noire's face." Your master's journal !!!! Don't play dumb with me girl !!" Noire said as Phisoxa pulled out of his grip and kicked at him to get him away from her. " Why would I know where his journal is? I don't even know where my master is in the first place !!" Phisoxa shouted as Noire went silent and a psychotic chuckle escape his lips as he walked towards Phisoxa. " I'm sorry dear sister but you are never going to see your master again, I put the old man out of his misery ... !!" Noire said as Phisoxa seemed to freeze. " No... he couldn't have fallen ...."

 

Suddenly Noire's face was whacked by the blunt side of a steel sword, sending Noire crashing into a wall. Dr. Traken held the sword firmly and kept himself in a defensive position, keeping Noire in sight and Phisoxa behind him. "Are you okay, Miss?" asked Dr. Traken of Phisoxa.

 

Noire flew into the wall, hitting it at such a force that a loud crack of broken bones could be heard and there he laid on the ground lifeless. Phisoxa was still wide eyed, a mixture of shock and solemn feeling flooding her mind. "I'm fine......" Phisoxa said with a shaky voice as she buried her face into her hands and began to cry. Nearby on the ground Phisoxa's mythology book lay, it's covered sparsely stained with Phisoxa's blood that had been spilled earlier.

 

Dr. Traken continued to watch the body, unsure of what it would do next. "You mustn't cry miss, there will be a time and a place for that, but not here. Go." Dr. Traken said. He then began creating scratches in the ground with his blade, creating a circle. Dr. Traken continued refining the circle until he was either disrupted or completely finished.

 

" But I can't leave you here with him Doctor.... hes dangerous..." Phisoxa said still shaking as she reached forward and picked up her mythology book, blood dripping down her arm from the cut. " Westus can't be dead....." Phisoxa said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

 

"I heard him say that... But unfortunatly he is telling the truth, Master Westus's body was reported found about 20 minutes ago." said Dr. Traken "Now, go child. I will deal with this abomonation myself. Westus was my dear friend, this boy will pay for what he has done." Dr. Traken finished the circle on the ground then smiled. "Master Westus was a dear friend, but he was sometimes foolish and must have been caught off gaurd. I am prepared and not so foolish."

 

Meanwhile outside the academy entrance a group of dark knights arrived, the academy security blocked them off and an argument erupted, but before the violence could start a loud bang echoed threw the academy, the Knights and Guards were sent flying as dust obscured the area, a few seconds later it began, screaming as one by one the Knights and Guards were killed, and what ever did it entered the academy.

 

Nny was walking down a hallway when he heard a massive sound echo through the school. Nny ran towards what he thought was the source of the sound, and it lead him to the academy entrance.

Dr. Traken was momentarily distracted when he heard the sound, but then turned back and continued to focus on Noire. "Miss, I suggest you get out of here." said Dr. Traken with more conviction now, than before. It was simply the uncertainty of what the sound was that concerned the doctor. "Bad things have been happening ever since that test, and each bad thing is only worse than the last. I seriously suggest you get out of here quickly!"

 

" No... no he can't be dead..." Phisoxa cried out in sorrow as she looked like she was about to pass out from the overwhelming shock. " I can't just run off... I have to kill that man... hes murdered far too many..." Phisoxa said as she reached down and picked up the sword that Noire had dropped but before she could do anything she froze as if she could sense something. " What is that.... I sense something strange...."

 

The entrance doors were gone, smashed to pieces, whatever had done it had gone further into the academy, leaving a trail of injured behind. Slowly the injured started to change, their eyes began to glow yellow, their skin darkened to pitch black and their hands changed into sharp claws, the screams of those transforming could be heard threw out the academy. As soon as one finished transforming he would go on and attack others, starting the whole cycle again. The academy was now awake, in confusion as these new creates swarmed the unprepared students and teachers. Each time they were attacked the creatures quickly regenerated and adapted to the attack.

 

Nny pulled out his sword, witnessing the monsters changes and trying to take a mental note of them. Perphaps this was finally a creature worthy of fighting Nny. Nny ran at the monsters, slashing most of the aside with his sword. He wasn't trying to kill them, he was only trying to move them out of his way. He had to catch up to where the line was starting, as Nny was in back of the monsterous horde.

 

" I should go and get Shero... its too dangerous to leave her alone..." Phisoxa thought as she turned to Traken. " I will leave you with my brother... I need to go check up on my friend..." Phiisoxa said as she ran off towards the dorms, carrying her textbook.

 

Allen jumped as the bang erupted through the hall he was standing in, and his floating light shook from his reaction, and now he was sure that something was definitely wrong. His light concern quickly developed into more and he took off at a sprint towards the place where he had last seen Phisoxa and Shero.

He reached the hall where they had separated and stopped to catch his breath. He regretted leaving them alone now. What if something happened to them?

After a few seconds he went back to sprinting, this time towards the stairs they had walked towards. Once he had ascended the stairs he realized he had no idea where they had gone from where he was. He extinguished his magic light and closed his eyes, attempting to sense the light he had left with Shero. It would have gone out by now but if he got close enough he might be able to sense what was left of it. He opened his eyes and began to run, slower now, down the hall, hoping to detect the remaining essence of his magic.

He came across Dr. Traken standing over the body of Noire, and would've stopped to speak with him, had he not felt the magical essence of his light. As it was he started sprinting again in the direction of his magic and what he hoped was Shero.

 

Despite Mixt's vantage point from the roof he couldn't tell what had caused the explosion. When he turned and looked dust and debris had filled the air. But what he saw after that surprised even him. There were reports of curses and such that could transform people or reanimate the dead, but they were exceedingly difficult to do on even one person. How could both be happening at such a scale in the heat of combat? Regardless something was going on here behind the scenes. There was little point in attacking the Academy in and of itself. Is this a distraction? Is there more to this place than he knew? Could this be related to last night? "Only one way to find out" Mixt finished his thought out loud as he jumped over the railing, sliding along the wall to slow his fall. Once he was on the ground drew out a transmutation circle in the dirt and crafted two swords, but, unlike yesterday's, these weren't blunted. Twin-blades at the ready Mixt charged in at the site of the explosion.

 

Nny slashed and hacked through all the consumers. When suddenly he heard a crash of sorts off to his side. There stood Mixt charging towards where Nny had just left from. Nny looked on the man with an unkindness. Nny didn't hate Mixt, to the contrary, he admired him. Nny believed as Mixt did that if a person was too weak to defend themselves, they might as well die. However, Nny couldn't let an opportunity like this pass by. Nny quickly stabbed a nearby monster and flung it off of his sword at Mixt.

Dr. Traken watched the boy carefully, making sure he wasn't going anywhere. Meanwhile the doctor watched as many students, including Allen, ran about in hysteria. What is going on? Dr. Traken asked himself.

 

Mixt and Nny’s position was starting to be surrounded, the number of creatures never dwindled, only increased as more and more were created from their victims.

The path between Allen and Shero became more and more chaotic as the fight came closer and closer. What teachers could tried to organize the students but it was too little too late. The Creatures broke through and started slaughtering the students, the dorm hallways were filled with chaotic battle.

 

Phisoxa finally got back to the dorm and found Shero was sitting on her bed in her pajamas combing her hair with a brush. She was surprised to see Phisoxa come bursting in through the door so she looked up at her with a confused look. " Phisoxa whats wrong?" Shero asked.

" Something is happening... I don't know what it is but we need to find someplace safe to hide.." Phisoxa said as she grabbed her school bag and packed it full of things that she would need just in case, leaving Shero rather confused. "What do you mean? If something was happening wouldn't the teachers had said something by now?" Shero said as Phisoxa sighed." Just get dressed and grab your things now.." Phisoxa said as Shero nodded and gathered her things.

 

The strange man in the white coat appeared before Shero and Phisoxa "So, listen, remember how I came at a bad time and what not, well, this time I got it all covered. So, I'm gonna have to ask you to trust me. Take my hand and we'll get out of here, K?" said the man as he extended his hand out to the both of them.
