War for Sori

Sinder looked the girl straight in the eyes and a flash of memory came to the new recruit's mind.

It was an image of the older Sori as she burned at the stake.

 

Keelina fell to the floor and held her head. Please...stop. I don't want these images in my head.

 

Sinder's gaze came off the girl.

"Sorry chica. Can't seem to keep my memories to myself these days.

Too much to think about."

 

Keelna stood back up and shook her head. Can't blame you. You're the most different out of all of us.

Demetrio cut one of the ropes holding civilians. they landed safely i guess they didnt expect us to jam their equipment

 

Mya nodded. Yea I sup-WAIT! She grabbed a civilian and took off his jacket. There was a bomb strapped to his chest. Wh-What's this? They're all rigged with bombs.

 

Sinder leaped from the rooftop next to the civilian, severing the wires to the bomb attached to him with her twin blades.

Call the rest, I can cut them a lot faster then you guys can.

 

Mya nodded. Hey get back! We need to- She was cut off by a footstep behind her and she whipped around to find a human soldier. Well well. Looks like you need to stick out of this.

Mya took a step back from him. Who are you?

He made a small bow. Forgive my manners. I am Captain Hanz. I am in charge of this sector. I was hoping you would come. He started to circle her. I didn't realize your kind looked so innocent. Yet my orders are to kill you. I have the controls to set off the bombs.

Mya kept her eyes on him. So I'll kill you and the controls are mine?

He nodded. Yes but ONLY if you live. He placed his gun in his holister. Shall we start? Both Mya and Hanz start to circle each other.

 

The girl stopped from cutting the wires on the bombs, about twenty of the civilians were free.

"You humans are so predictable," Sinder said to the man with her arms crossed.

"I've studied your kind for over three hundred years.

You are a sick kind, waging wars and killing each other for no reasonable purpose."

She gazed at him hard, giving him memories of the dead and dying, making him feel their pain in return.

 

Hanz shot a glare at her. You're not so different yourself. Just because you have no emotions doesn't mean you're free to judge others. He locked his glance back at Mya.

 

Demetrio took and aimed his gun at Hanz's head i believe you should stop aiming at my fiance........ he let off a low growl at the end of his sentence

 

Sinder gave a loud breath out and put her hand on her forehead.

She turned from the others and hung her head with her eyes closed.

 

Hanz narrowed his eyes. This is just between me and the girl. Stay out of this. In the distance, a bell tower rang and Mya whipped out her gun and shot Hanz before he could pull out his. He fell tithe ground dead and Mya placed the gun back into her holder. Now he's dead, this town is safe once again.

 

Demetrio looked around we arent out of this yet......... his ears could faintly hear running footsteps looks like re-enforcements are on the way they are a few hundred yards from us

 

Mya examined the entrence. Sat some bomb on the pillars. We'll collapse them when they come in.

 

right. Demetrio walked near the entrance and set bombs on the pillars near it ok they are ready to be remotely detonated at anytime I'd wager we have about 15 minutes before any heavy artillery arrives. Demetrio turned to the now freed citizens look normally we wouldnt ask this of you but anyone that is willing to grab a gun and fight while we evacuate everyone please stand beside me about 10 or so random citizens walked forward ok you all grab the guns from the fallen soldiers everyone else..... we'll have you out soon. He walked to Mya so how long will we need to stall before everyone can be evacuated safely?

 

Mya looked at the sky. I'm guessing about 10 minutes before out evac arrives. Everyone! Hold this position for 10 minutes until out heli arrives! She jumped behind some rubble and waited for the soldiers to come closer.

 

Demetrio handed Mya the detonator use it when you are ready...... Demetrio got behind a solid wall with his guns drawn.

 

Mya nodded and closed her eyes, concentrating her hearing. She heard footsteps, but knew they weren't close enough. After a few seconds, it got louder and louder until Mya hit the switch and the entrence collapsed, crushing the soldiers and blackig the entrence.
