War for Sori

Ulysess moved at incredible speeds at swept Mya off the 'couch', throwing the blanket off her. "I'm sorry but you really do not want to be putting her on there. That is not a couch." As if to back up what he was saying the thing that Mya had been laying on lit up then snapped shut, where she had been only moments earlier. "I told you not to touch anything in here. There's no telling what may happen" He shook his head, "And that will take a lot to reset up. Honestly, I don't say things for no reason. It's dangerous in here if you don't know what you're doing. Now, living quarters are upstairs." He shook his head and walked on ahead, muttering under his breath. He wasn't sure this was a good idea at all, but he owed Leyna and he didn't have much choice. Some advance warning would of been nice though.

Liv looked in shock, what kind of place had they come to? He was a mad scientist in every sense of the word. She made sure she stayed very close to Karol, she was no going to let anything bad happen to him in the mad house. Though she did start to wonder if living quarters were upstairs how would they get the bed up the stairs. She dreaded to think. She interwined her fingers with his and whispered, "We're going to be alright, everything's going to be just fine" She just had to convince herself that, which was easier said than done.

 

Grey shook his head and carried Mya, heading upstairs. Nothing upstairs will kill us I suppose.

 

Liv frowned as she got to the base of the stairs with Karol on the bed, "Ughh, can someone carry Karol upstairs? I'm not sure I'm strong enough to." She said, she hated to admit she was weak but she wasn't very physically strong, more mentally strong. She looked around and held Karol's hand tighter.

Somehow Ulysses was next to her in a moment though she didn't recal him going back down the stairs to her. "Carry him? Nonsense. No I have a much better way of doing things." He led the bed over to a wierd contraption on the side of the bed and began attaching it's 'arms' to the bed, then put straps over Karol to prevent him falling out. When he was finished it looked like a strange rollercoaster. "Please keep your arms and legs inside at all times while you are in motion, thank you" He said despite Karol being unconcious and it would probably be impossible to move even if he was awake.

Liv watched we a mixture of awe and fear, she daren't do anything though in case it messed up the way the machine was set up and endangered Karol, "Are you sure this is safe?" She said to him.

"Perfectly" He replied, "It hasn't broke down in, oh, a week?" This did not put Liv's mind at rest but before she could do anything he slapped a big green button and the bed with Karol in it, rose off the floor.

 

Rita gaped in horror as the strange contraption rose from the ground, taking Karol with it. "I-I'm sure it'll be fine, Liv. From the looks of it it just floats up the stairs and then stops at the top. No immediate danger...I hope.." She fidgeted with her sash but tried to look strong.

Karol had a horrible feeling, as if he were a balloon and that he would fly up and up forever. Then suddenly a faint image of Liv appeared below him. She was screaming in fear, trying desperately to reach him. Puzzled, he tried to grab her, only to find that she was getting smaller and smaller by the second. In reality, Karol gave out a small groan and muttered Liv's name softly.

 

Ulysses stared at the controls, deciding what to pick. His eyes keeping switching between the options, stuck between doing what he should do and doing what was fun. In the end, he sighed, shut his eyes and pressed a button.

Liv bit her lip as the machine whirred into action, hoping that Karol would be safe. She didn't know what she would do if Karol got hurt again. She glanced at the mad scientist, if he hurt him then she would make him pay. The contraption moved and Karol glided up the stairs in his bed, almost gracefully before the bed gently put him down at the top.

Ulysses laughed at the girls expressions, "Oh ye of little faith, I don't know why you were so worried, I mean what were you expecting?" He grinned and ran up the stairs. Though at the back of his mind, he was dissappointed he hadn't got to try out the rollercoaster mode but he valued his life and had promised Leyna, he would behave.

Leyna internally sighed in relief, she was worried that Ulysses was going to do something bad, he didn't veiw the world the same as everyone else. He was an absolute genious but at the same time he could be a total idiot and worse of all, he was unpredictable. You never knew what he would do next. He owed her and she knew he respected that but still as she watched him, she began to doubt if bringing her friends here was such a good idea after all.

 

Rita relaxed slightly and gave out a small sigh of relief. She moved over towards Leyna, keeping an eye on the staircase in case Ulysses bounded down them with a steamroller or something. "So, how did you come across this....disaster...?"

 

Leyna laughed, "He's not actually that bad. But it's a long story, I'll try and shorten it. Um, well basically when I was younger before even they took my family" She looked down sadly as she said this, "I found him, a strange boy even at that age. He was fascinated with my wings. Um, something happened, we got trapped together, I saved his life, we became friends. He is a genius but unfortunatly it means he doesn't see the world the same way we do, which made it hard for him to have friends as you can imagine. More stuff happened, I've saved his life several times, he's helped me out of a few situations though currently he owes me. Those codes you heard? They were more memories than codes. You know, he took over the factory and forced them to abandon it all by himself, still a mystery to me how he did it. But now, he's the closest to family I have left." She shook her head, "I must look a fool for bringing you here"

 

"Why would you look a fool? You've saved our lives for bringing us to shelter!" Rita smiled at Leyna. "If you trust him, then I think it's okay for us to trust him. You know him better than anyone else and knowing you, you would never put us in danger."

 

"Yeah, thanks" She said quietly, though she still had her doubts about her choice to bring them there, Ulysses wasn't a bad person but he was unpredictable and there was no telling what he'd do.

Before she could say anything else, they reached the top of the stairs and Ulysses bounded out in front of them. "Welcome to my humble abode, it's not much but you should find everything you need and you should be safe here" He said, stretching his arm out to the large room he was in.

"This is obviously a new meaning of the word 'safe' I have not come across before" Liv muttered but as she reached the top of the stairs even she had to admit it wasn't bad. They were currently sat in a large relaxing area, with comfy sofa's and everything to make you feel calm, even the colour of the lights added to the mood. Though of course there were gadgets everywhere that Ulysses had most likely invented himself, but these ones did seem pretty harmless even useful. At the other end of the room was a large elegant table, all set up ready for a meal. Everything that contrasted with the floor below was there and if this was 'not much', Liv couldn't help wondering what 'a lot' would be in his standard.

"...through there is more than enough bedrooms for everyone, bathroom through that door and kitchen over there but you will have no need to go in there" Ulysses explained, gesturing to all the different doors.

 

Sasha nodded. Thank you for you kindness. She sat on the sofa.

Grey brought Mya into a bedroom and laid her on the bed.

 

Demetrio had followed Grey into the room and looked at Mya well I'm so glad we found a place to go.

 

Liv gazed at Karol layed in his bed, he seemed so peaceful and at one with the world. He was georgeous and the way his hair fell, it was so dreamy. Although, it was bitter sweet, she was still worried about him and what she wouldn't give for him to just open his eyes and everything to be just fine. Ulysess had wheeled him off into a corner and hooked him up to a machine, giving her a small device. He hadn't full explained about what it did but he'd said if something was wrong with Karol, she'd know about it no matter where she was. She turned it over in her hand and sighed, she just hoped he's be okay.

Leyna grabbed Rita's arm and pulled her off to one side of the room, "Hey, Rita, how'd you fancy me and you sneaking off to go exploring this place. I sort of know my way around, I've been here before and who know's what secrets he may be hiding. Come on, it'll be fun, just you and me like old times." She whispered to her long time friend, getting unusually excited. It felt good to be a rebel again.

Ulysses meanwhile, was having his own fun. He'd never really had much expirience with girls or people in general, he never seemed to fit in with everyone else. Not that he minded, he made his own fun, mainly by blowing stuff up. But she was different, ever since he had clamped eyes on her, he had known she was the one. He'd never felt like that before, she made him feel like a child again and he loved it. Trouble was, he had know idea what to do about this so next thing he knew he was attempting to copy the little of other men he'd seen. He staggered over to Sasha, swung his arm round her waist, pulling her close to him and in the deepest voice he could muster he said, "Hey baby, how about me and you spend a little time alone?"

 

Rita's eyes seemed to light up when Leyna shared her idea. "Sounds like fun! I'm all for it! Especially if it can remove some of this aweful stress!" She glanced over at her brother in the corner and gave a small sigh. "Anyway, don't you go getting us lost y'hear? I don't want to drag all the treasure we find around this place for hours on end!" She gave Leyna a playful nudge.

BIC: Grey looked around the house. Since he was bored and had nothing else better to do, he decided to explore around the house. Besides, even though John banished him, he still could continue on his work if he could find some sort of document...

Sasha shot a death glare at him. If he were some fool on the sheets, she would've blasted him to bits. She did owe him so she wouldn't blow him up...yet. She gently tried pushing him away. Err...I prefer if you didn't act like this around me.

 

OOC: Strange house this is.

Liv saw Grey move away from the others and realised this could be her chance. She'd been wanting to confront him since he first joined them but she'd either been too afraid or he'd not been alone. But now, she'd made up her mind, as much as she was scared, she had to know. She didn't want to leave Karol but this might be her only chance for answers. She squeezed Karol's hand and whispered, "I'm sorry but I have to do this". She quietly moved away from Karol to follow Grey. She waited patiently until they were far enough away from the others and he'd wandered into a room before she made her move.

She slipped in, locking the door behind her and cornered Grey. “Hey, you owe me some answers. Do you remember the third of May, 6 years ago? You should do. Or do you need a reminder?” Liv said to him strongly, with a look you would not want to mess with. She wasn’t using any magic currently except a little discrete spell to pick up his lies and she was prepared to use harsher measures if he didn’t give her answers.

Leyna laughed at Rita, it felt so good to be back doing this, almost like she was a child again. "Oh, I'll try my best not too. Now come on before they notice what we're up to" She grabbed her friends hand and ran down a random corridor, dragging Rita behind her.

Ulysses backed away, frowning and with the most puzzled expression on his face. He didn't quite understand what had happed and he looked down at the floor as he tried to figure out what had gone wrong because he didn't think that was suppossed to happen. "You don't like?" He asked utterly confused before grinning as an idea struck him and dashing away quickly before she could answer. He returned within a minute, in his hand now was the strangest mish mash of flowers you had ever seen. Some of them had brightly coloured stems/leaves yet the petals were green, others had mirrors for petals and a odd purple bug was landed on another. He held them all in the messiest way possible and held them out to her, saying "For you".

 

Grey stared at Liv. He hoped this moment would never happen, but since it did, he had to let out the truth. Liv, I do remember what happened that day. I just don't know whether you would believe me or not. All I want to say is that I didn't kill her. I swear on my life. The only reason why I ran away was because no one would believe me if I was there. I'll tell you this. That whole thing was set up. To frame me.

Sasha took his strange set. Umm...thanks a lot. She felt bad for him. She can't wonder how long it has been for him to meet another human.

 

Liv frowned, her spell hadn't reacted to mean he was lying but still, she didn't trust him. "Right...and why would someone do that? Why were you even in there? She was my friend!" She looked down sadly, "She was injured. She was the one who taught me that Sori's weren't just savage beasts like I'd been told, she was the reason I started to fight in this damn war. Now, it was no secret you didn't like her. So why were you there?" She looked him straight in the eye though a single tear ran down her cheek.

Ulysess's face lit up as Sasha accepted the flowers but as he stood awkwardly in front of her with a smile on his face, he realised he had no idea what was supposed to happen next. He decided to try and compliment her as he thought he was meant to "You light up my life like a radioactive methriduium core set to blast and cause an explosion 15 miles in diameter. And you attract me in the same way a black hole sucks everything in it's path towards it" He attempted, examining her face intensely to assess her reaction, even taking it out his notepad and scribbling down a load of notes to try to get his head round her.

 

Grey paced around. The reason why I went to her house is that I wanted to help her. If I could say what happened, it was this. She didn't die accidentally. She was my friend as well. I knew her some ways back then. I tried to help her. She said no. She said if she were to choose life or death, she would rather die and tell a message rather than live and stay in a lonely corner.

Sasha nodded, trying to understand his words, possibly his feelings. Well...thanks. Umm if you excuse me, I...uhh need to tend Karol. He has been awfully injured. I should take care of him.

 

OOC: I'm writting Liv's bio here and if I remember correctly this actually fits with what I originally put.

Liv had dropped her spell, she didn't care if it said he wasn't lying, she didn't believe him, "No! You're wrong. She wouldn't." More tears rolled down her cheek, blurring her vision. She blocked off Gray's route out. "No. You're missing something. And since when were you two friends? Everyone knew you were against Sori's then, what changed? And why would she do that?" She looked down and mumbled, "Why would she leave me?" She could still remember it so clearly, she had been a child at the time and their arrival had complete astounded her. Before that she'd just been fed lies about Sori's being wild animals but that girl had shown her that they were just as human as them and shown her who the real monsters. She'd been so happy in the time after that, nursing the sori to health and learning all about them. But then had come that eventful night where she'd seen him leaving the tent and she had gone in to find her friend dead. She was a child and that image still haunted her to this day. She'd never felt so alone after that, she didn't trust anyone and barely a week after she ran away. A little girl lost in a big world. She looked up at him to add, calmer, "You don't know what happened to me afer she died, do you? You don't know how I got here"

Ulysess grabbed Sasha's arm, "He's fine. Trust me, I'd know if he was not. I hooked him up to my machine, we'll know if he's in trouble" He took a small device, identical to the one he'd given Liv out of one of his huge pockets and placed it in her arms. "Just, please don't leave" He looked at her with a strange mix of authority and pleading desperation. He didn't know what he was doing but he didn't want her to go, he just wanted her to be with him. "Please?"

 

Grey stayed silent. After some awkward silence, he started to speak again. Look, I'm sorry. Perhaps if I had the knowledge I had now, I could've saved her. He looked around to make sure they were alone before speaking. I won't lie, I'm a heartless freak. I killed many of my own kind to study how we work, but I wouldn't kill a child. Never. I want to tell you something. It's my fault Mya is what she is in right now.

Sasha bit her lip. She seriously wanted to run out. He was creeping her out. She also felt sorry for him. Maybe he never had someone to love. Maybe he had no human contact in his life. She sighed and nodded. Alright. I'll stay.
