i uppose so. but it seems ps3 is aimed at older more mature players.

 

I believe 2008 will be a defining year for PS3, Wii is gonna have to dazzle gamers with stuff other than Brawl and 360 is going to have a fairish year.

In my opinion, the 360 is the best console by far. It has the best online functionality, game variety, and support. The PS3 is downright overpriced in comparison to the 360. the Wii is a fun little box, but a gimmicky motion-sensing system and famous Nintendo characters just can't compete with the 360's sheer brute force. The online is lax, the grahics are ages behind the other two machines, and a wonky control system sets it back from a truly immersive experience. Jowever, I will accept the fact that the 360 does have some flaws. A huge failure rateisn't helping sales. Platform exclusives are slightly hard to come by these days. There aren't enough USB ports, so four-player is limited to wireless and Rock Band. Overall, however, the graphics are fantastic, the gameplay is truly visceral, and come on, it's got Halo and BioShock. Anyone else have thoughts?

 

Sony did say that the PS3 would probably outsell the 360 by this year though, considering that USA and the UK are mostly buying 360's, if Sony says what is true, more people will probably by it considering the games coming for it, but the Wii just dosen't seem to be slowing down.

The PS3 overtaking the 360 by 2009 isn't wishful thinking, I'd say it's pretty much bound to happen. The fact that the 360 does not sell in 1/3rd of the market is really starting to bite it in the ass, the 360 can outsell the PS3 in both PAL and NA, but even with that the PS3 always has it's Japan figures to fall back on, which in the end allows the PS3's sales to remain on top of the 360's sales regardless of how well it does in the other 2 regions

The 360's lower sales don't reflect that it's a bad system, by all means, but the 360 has been last in cumulative sales out of all consoles for the past few months

The PS3 will outsell the 360 for at least 1 month this year. It doesn't matter too much if the 360 doesn't do all that well this year, it still has console sellers that were out last year. This year is probably the hangover of 2007, not as many titles that will be quite as appealing as last year. Halo Wars, can't see that being hugly successful, Ninja Gaidan 2, will do well, but won't be quite as successful. Fable 2 might do really well if it's out this year. Lost Oddssey should attract more RPG gamers out there with all the bombardment of FPS's, and there are probably more I missed out. Though GTA4 should do the 360 well with the downloadable content. So those with both consoles will go for the 360, but that audience who have both is quite slim, so it won't make too much of a difference, but it could get people to buy the 360. Lets just hope that stores in the UK don't do the same as with DMC4, and make the PS3 version £10 more. Which it total bull****.

Though the PS3 has MGS4, it needs more to really overtake the PS3, a great game that comes out of no-where. MGS4 might be the hype of halo for the PS3, but it needs those other great games that appeared with not as much hype like GeoW, Mass Effect or Bioshock. (Ironically mainly shooter based)

Now for the Wii well. It's number 1, it's selling doing with, Brawl it out soon. (We just need more after that) The main aim for the 360 and the PS3 is to take the number 2 spot. If things keep up for the Wii it's going to dominate for the rest of the way.

PS3's conceited reps and its half-baked online service coupled together are its biggest downfall...that and the glut of 360 games that are just smothering the PS3's weak library...

Yeah i would definitely have to say that the WII is definitely hammering the sales and look at where their target market is. The youth of the nations; kids that are from as early as 5 all the way through the age scale. The problem that the developers that make Sony and Microsoft's games is that they are focusing on more of an "adult spectrum" of buyers. If you look at the 360 YES they are beating the PS3 in sales BUT look at how much longer people had to wait for the PS3 to come out.

I have played all 3 consoles and i own a WII and a PS3 so i think i am showing where my loyalties lie for a bit but that does not mean that i do not like the 360. I would just prefer the WII and PS3 over it. Really the consoles were released at really different times so they can't be properly judged in monthly sales, you would have to look at the comparison of their history of sales (first month, second month etc...). That would be the only way that judgement could be passed on which on is selling better.

first of all, I think it depends on age, because 11 year olds are willing to die for their opinion that Wii's are the best system, just because of the movement with the wiimote and such.

But when you get down to it: I really think 360 is the best system.
PS3 has oh SO much potential to be wayy better than the 360 in terms of memory and such, but the ps3's weak library and the fact that all if its good exclusive games are coming out 2 years from now, takes some major credibilty away...plus when it first came out it was so expensive, that people would look at the 360 and say...

its been out longer, so its cheaper
it has more games for it
its graphics are about the same
Halo 3 is coming out for 360 only and I gotta play that (every knows how hyped up halo was)

some would say "what about warhawk or devil may cry 4? those r some awesome games."

Its true that warhawk is an amazing game...but if you had to choose to have halo or cod4 while buying your 360
or warhawk with buying your ps3, then its an automatic 360 win...and DMC4 is for 360 as well so that ends that...

As for wii...the one thing about wii that just plain annoys me is that its best-sellers are also out for gamecube...(WHY?!) everyone will just buy the GC version, because that many people have a GC rather than a Wii. And now that I think about it, everyone is just waiting for brawl to come out. It'll be just like Halo 3...people will stand in line for it at 5:00am, play it, beat it, then ultimately, move on...producers need to hurry up with the Wii because most of its games have gotten bad ratings...
