Currently on par with the 360 in terms of graphics. The PS3 has the potential to go much further than the 360. Of course it will take time for developers to find the potential. But FFXIII and MGS4 will be a good insight. Even now 7 years after the PS2 release we are finding games that are showing it's true potential.

 

Developers are lazy, that's why they go for the Xbox 360 and Sony need to buy some company for Blue-Ray like how Paramount or whatever it was went HD DVD Exclusive, I say they want to buy either Disney or Warner Bros (hated it how the Harry Potter movies got released on HD-DVD only), so I say give it until 2008-09 for PS3 and probably PSP to catch up.

My opinion on the system wars in general

I personally can't see why people must parade the console they bought, it's not like their bragging is going to make people get it.

How does it effect you if Nintendo wins or Sony wins or whatever. More people are going to own multiple consoles then ever before, alot of people are going to own all 3. (These people benefit from the system wars the best)

Alot of people just complain because they can't afford the console themselves. =/

 

I do agree with Dark Android. People really get into this console war thing and I've played on all 3 and think they do their jobs for the types of games they run, and all 3 provide internet access etc. I buy consoles strictly for -games- and if the games to me suck, I don't care if a console is 250 bucks or 50 bucks. I'm not wasting the money. People on here though deal with the 'console' wars more maturely than some sites and forums I've been to where they call you names if you don't want to get the console they love. It's become a fad thing and people hype up one of all 3 and then insult the others. All 3 appear to have negatives and positives. I know I lean more to the PS3 merely because of the games on it, and well, it does all the functions I want with it, but it doesn't mean I 'hate' the other 2. They are all great systems and I'm kind of tired of hearing how people wish that 1 or 2 of the gaming consoles would die. Without that competition there, we wouldn't get improving systems each time they come out. We'd get crap.

 

The point is that people WANT to debate. People want thier point to be known. I do agree with you but thats the world for ya. It don't make the world go round but meh.

 

I don't mind debates, of course. I love good debates. Just it seems like many of the console war debates aren't so much debates as fan issues of saying this is better because I say so. It's either that or they say they wish one of the companies would die off or two others so that one is a monopoly. My point really is that if one game console became a monopoly it would be bad for all the gamers. We'd have less selection of games and stuff, as well as competitive improvement.

 

Debates are all good and well, until some Fanboy spams the thread :guns::yelling:

i would have to say i would preffer a xbox 360 seeing as its more popular and all my freinds have one so i would deffenetly get one of them and ther cheaper.

BUT

the ps3 will have kh3 and i deffenetly want tht. but ill be waiting for 4 years so bugger to tht

 

Mabee its more populare where ur from but as i see it Sony and Nintendo are way more populare cuz they are also big in Japan but Microsoft is not...

Also Xbox 360 isnt cheaper than the Wii and if u want to dish out more money for a console and u want a ps3 u should get that since it rly isnt that much more :\

Last i would like to say that the Console who wants to win it most is probably the Xbox360 but it is struggling because of its unpopularity in Japan . Yet the one's who arnt competing (Nintendo) seem to be wining because of the high quality games for there system and the fact that they are making more people enjoy games because of there motion sensitivity games .

Over all id say Microsoft is losing and rly needs to get Japan into there games if they ever want to as big as Sony or Nintendo

One plus side of microsoft is that they are adding games like Bllue Dragon and FFXI to there line up which will add so Reputation to there system in Japan

i like wii the best, because it envolves movement. But i actully prefer the ps more than the ps3. sure ps3 has better graphics, but ps2 has, in my opinion, better games.

 

Well, the PS2 didn't really have any good games when it came out so you'd have to give the PS3 another year or two before you can compare the games.
