Virtual Hell

It took Nick a couple of seconds to process what just happened. "W-Wait! Where are you running off to?" He was both confused and a little disappointed. he was afraid that if Sammy didn't come back, and if Civia refused his offer to come along with him, he'd be alone again. He turned to Civia who was coming his his way. "Uhh...About that partner of mine...She kinda ran off for some reason. Sorry about that." He said, rubbing the back of his head. "She's usually so calm and laid back. Hopefully she comes back, I still haven't paid her back for saving me yet.." He said, feeling bad. "Well, do you want to come with me to...wherever?" He asked Civia, still a little down from the fact that he just lost someone whom he considered an older sister.

 

Civia looked at Nick, then passed him to where the other player ran to. Shy? Easily intimidated? She furrowed her eyebrows in thought, but didn't for too long. If simply walking to her made her bolt (she saw the fear...or some other emotion that still got the message through), then perhaps it was better if...

"We should follow her. She looks scared or...something. That could hinder her fighting if she were to face monsters. It would be plain stupid if we left her there, knowing vaguely where she ran off to. Come on, let's follow her. You talk to her; I seem to scare her off." Civia says flatly, a bit unnerved. She wanted to add "plus, you look really sad right now", but she didn't want to. It didn't seem important enough to mention.

Before Nick could move, she bolted herself.

 

Sammy was already gasping for air, since she was never that physically fit in the first place. However, after taking a glance back for a moment, she got a sudden burst of speed and charged ahead faster. That girl was giving chase. Of course, that fact that the forest was still burning to the ground and emitting pillars of smoke into the air, really didn't help with the situation. Oh my god, why the hell is she following me? Can't I take a break from these kids? Damn it, Nick! Tell your girlfriend to back off! Determined to get away, especially since she had a good headstart, Sammy charged forward wanting to get away. If the forest wasn't burning, she would've tried to lose her in it, but since she didn't have that option, all she had were the great plains spread out before her.

 

Nick stood alone. Everything happened so fast. "Uhh...What?...Oh, whatever!" He said as he ran after both Civia and Sammy. It seemed like the closer they got to her, the faster she started running. It seemed as if she was afraid of Civia or something. He finally caught up to Civia. He tried to speak to her as quietly as possible. "Hey, Go Hide. Maybe if she sees that you're not there anymore, she'll stop. If you do that, you'll have to wait until she's not looking" He said.

 

Civia then stops, abruptly. She mutters something incoherent, even to her. Something like "god I hate running" and "something's wrong with her." She nods, watching the other player run for her life. What, was Civia intimidating like that? She frowned.

"Go, I'll just take another route." She says, forcing herself to breathe normally and not pant. Without much of a warning, again, she went ahead of Nick, only she went right instead of back.

She found herself in the forest again, the part that wasn't burning. Civia frowned again. The forest fire was, suddenly, bothering her. Quite the mysterious, spontaneous combustion that was. Maybe she should stop following them and explore? This map couldn't possibly be so big, but then again, she would need help every now and then. Then the lazy side kicked in: "You can catch up with them later."

Almost on cue, she felt her eyelids beginning to become heavy. Was she affected by real-time, too? It must have been pretty late. Must have; or she was really worn out from all that brisk-walking and running (she did brisk-walk and run far). Not wanting to just collapse and sleep, she decided to just explore, taking her time.

 

Curse these great barren plains! Absolutely, no cover! though Sammy bitterly as she continued to run. Panting heavily she ran and took another glance back to see what was up with her pursuers. The girl wasn't here anymore. But Nick was. It's a trap! Oh my gosh, where did she go?! I've got a ninja freaking chasing me! So the chase continued. Though Sammy wasn't physically fit at all, there were times when she could force herself to run and ignore the pain it caused her. Especially if she thought there was a life or death situation. This was one of those times. I don't think I've had this much exercise in a single year!

 

Nick was starting to get very angry. "Come on! She's not even here! Stop Running!" He pleaded(?). It did nothing, and the chase continued on. He thought that maybe a threat would work. "If you don't stop right now, I'll toss my tomahawk into your damn leg!" He said, pulling out his weapon. "I promise, nobody's going to hurt you if you just STOP!" He yelled. He pulled back his arm, aiming his weapon. He was ready to strike if Sammy didn't listen.

 

OOC: Accepted. :]

"Let's just keep going then, trudging around in this armor is making me kinda tired. As lightweight as it is...I'm not exactly accustomed to walking around in armor," she said. As they continued walking, Rei turned and said, "You're not very...talkative, are you?"

Michael watched Laurence silently as he left the room. "I'll definitely need to watch him, he thought.
Turning back to Richard, he said, "Good work, my friend. Any news from the other Hunters?"

 

"If I don't need to talk, I won't", Leo replied as they returned to walking. He continued to pace at the same rate as Rei, he was used to extra weight from carrying all of his school equipment with him everyday during the school years.

Richard turned away from the office decoration he was playing with facing Michael again. "No idea what the big kids are up to", he replied, "They'll come back home when they get hungry, or so my ma' used to say". His ridiculous yet entertaining choice of words and way of speaking was a habit of his, but it still was the information Michael had asked for.
"Anyway, got something else you need me to do?"

 

So she continued to walk leisurely. And walk...and walk. Then she stopped.

Just in front of her was a stream, but it was a bit low on water. A bit. She followed the stream with her eyes, and they were met with burning trees. Well, burnt. They were completely black and could probably crumble with the slightest touch. All the leaves were either completely black, in ashes, or nonexistent. There were a few embers here and there, still burning up the trees.

Civia searched her pouch/bag for the empty potion bottle she put back. She found the flask(?). She put the flask under water and waited for the bubbles that floated from the flask to stop. When it was filled, she took it out, corked it (the potions came with a cork) and made her way up to the charred trees.

 

What? What did he say? Bewildered, Sammy turned her head back again to see what Nick was up to and gasped in shock which made no difference since she was already gasping for air. However, the threat of being attacked caused her to run faster and desperately look for a place with cover. Oh my gosh! What kind of friend attacks you?! Get out a sword! Get out a sword! With her right hand shaking, Sammy tried for a while to get her sword out while running. It would have taken her a while anyway, but it was more difficult this time since she was nervous and she was also still getting used to sheathing and unsheathing her swords. Come on! Come on! Ah! There! She finally managed to slip it out a little and now held the handle of her left sword in her right hand, prepared to take it out and defend.

 

Nick stopped in shock as Sammy stood ready to fight back. He didn't actually want to fight her, he just wanted to get her to stop. "Hey, now. Let's not get crazy! I just wanna talk. Look, if you put away your weapon, I'll do the same with mine, see?" He said, putting the tomahawk back in it's holding case. "Please, I just want to know if something's wrong!" He said in a worried tone. He stood there in fear of the possible attack that Sammy was about to send at him.

 

What? He's not attacking? God, how lame! Made me panic for no reason! Sighing in relief and annoyance, Sammy tried to sheath her sword again while continuing to run which was another interesting experience. Somehow she managed to do it without cutting herself somehow. "Nothing's wrong! I'm fine! You don't need me anymore!" she shouted back to Nick.

 

Nick was just flat-out pissed now. "Screw it!" He yelled as he pulled his Tomahawk back out and chucked it right at Sammy. "You'd better run, you little baby!" He said in an almost psycho-like tone. He then turned the other way to avoid seeing where his weapon landed. "She'd better hope it ain't fatal" He murmured to himself.

OOC: I Just wanna make this clear: I don't actually want it to be fatal, as that would be breaking the rules(I think) So if you would be so kind as to make it hit a non-fatal area (If you even make it hit you at all), That would be great.

 

"...little f*cker," was all that was audible as Sammy jumped forward and turned toward the flying axe while drawing her left sword out to deflect the weapon. Sammy acted fairly fast though it all felt as if time were slowing down for her. As the axe flew, the handle hit the blade of the sword and changed its trajectory a little to soar a little higher. Through this turn, Sammy was gradually falling to the ground and finally fell and slid on her back on the plains panting for breath and watching as the axe soared over her head leading a good distance away. Relieved and tired, Sammy lay there, her arms spread out with her right hand still gripping her sword. She was definitely never going to help out Nick again. He could go and screw himself. How dare he attack her? Especially after helping him. I'm going to go and take that axe of his. And keep it. Confiscate it from that unworthy boy. After catching her breath a little, she sat up and looked around her. This place was pretty peaceful. Maybe now, she could go to sleep in peace. After confiscating that piece of trash that was thrown at her.

 

Nick, having possibly injured his former friend, now felt terrible. His terrible abandonment issues made it very easy for him to fly off the handle when he loses someone he's grown to like. The reasoning behind this was his parents' divorce. His father had just left one night and never came back. It was almost 2 months later that he saw him again, and that was for the signing of the divorce papers. He has despised his father ever since. A tear came to his eye as he beat himself up inside over the whole incident. "Damn it all! why does this always happen!" He said to himself. He looked toward the forest, noticing that the fire had subsided. He began walking towards the forest to see if he could find out what the cause was, and to get his mind off of his freak-out. When he arrived, he began to sift through the charred trees to see if he could find anything, and found nothing. "What's the point? Anything that could've started that big of a fire probably burned to ashes with it." He said. He sat up, looking for somewhere to go. He didn't know where he could go to actually leave the game, so he just moved into the part of the forest that was still standing. "Maybe Civia is over there. I hope she is.." he thought to himself. He made it over there, and it was barren. He was starting to grow tired, so he just decided to lay there in the forest, vulnerable to anything or anyone around him. "You know what...You both can go to Hell.." Nick said to himself before dozing off.

 

OOC: Anyone seen AndrewTemari or KH2Man around here lately?

"Then care to tell me a little about yourself? Seems like we'll be sticking together until we're out of here anyway, right?" Rei said, looking at him and smiling shyly in hopes of getting a response before mentally kicking herself. You're wearing a helmet Rei, he can't see your face.
She didn't know why, but she felt drawn to him, even if their interactions were limited to her asking him questions.

Michael smirked. "Very well. Thank you Richard, your job is done for today. Tell any other Hunters you meet to report to Nox and they're done."

 

"I like fantasy games, magic and knights", Leo explained, "That's about it". It explained his character's choice in appearance and equipment. "I prefer to separate online games from my real life," he explained.

"Will do", Richard replied as he left the room. He headed home shortly after leaving work. Wasting little time he changed his clothes to more casual wear and entered a gym like setup he had in his house. There was also a bar in the corner of the same room. He began working out on the various machines he had, every time he switched he ended up at the bar to take a drink of one of the beers he had.

 

OOC: I've seen KH2Man, but not AndrewTemari. I'm not sure when I saw KH2Man, but I'm sure it's fairly recent...

IC:

Civia had heard what he said, from behind a tree. She was taking care of an ember with the flask of water, which was no empty. She frowned. It could be her fault, true, but she didn't exactly want to stick with a guy who wanted her to go to hell.

"Fine," she says harshly, stepping away from the tree and beginning to run away.

It took her a good 2-3 minutes before she saw a player getting up, Nick's weapon just beside her. She frowns; did Nick throw that?

"Hey! Are you okay? I'm not going to hurt you." Civia shouts, loud enough for the other player to hear.

 

Sammy froze upon hearing someone shouting something in her direction. Looking towards the origin of the voice, Sammy saw who it was. Oh god, it's that girl. Cover, cover! Immediately she began looking around quickly for a place to hide or run to. Can't I just hide in the tall grass? Can she see me? If she's high enough? Oh yeah...where is that ax anyway? Momentarily forgetting about the girl, Sammy turned around and began searching for Nick's tomahawk. It landed not too far away from her, but far enough away that she would have to walk a couple steps to get to it. Argh...this grass is ridiculous. Oh hey, there it is! Picking it up she suddenly wondered how she was supposed to carry it. And why she wanted it in the first place. I wish I had a covering or something for the blade so I won't cut myself or something...but..
